The catacombs are a vast underground network of tunnels, only accessible by a few select spots on the surface.
Ancient cats carved and explored these tunnels through centuries of hard work. At the heart of the catacombs
is a nook bustling with life: Catalena. Here cats live harmoniously in groups called guilds, in which every memb-
er has it's own special role. There are merchants, barbarians, witches, foragers, every type of citizen you could
imagine. Everyone contributes to Catalena in their own way and keeps it safe for the cats that live there.

Prompt: The surface. It's open, it's bright and hurts her eyes. There are no tunnels, nothing to hide under. It's just airy. Chilly. The catacombs are familiar, tight spaces and open caverns, there's always something overhead but out here there's nothing. The sky is bright baby blue and the sun is so bright it practically blinds her. But worse than that are the leaves. The leaves that fall are featherlight but there are hundreds of them, all falling at once, crinkling underpaw. It's impossible to be silent with them everywhere, impossible to stake an ambush or scout without having to walk through hundreds of cracking, crinkly leaves.

The noises, the sounds of the surface wind whistling through the leaves in impossible whispers. The scents of oak and pine and apples. It's all so overwhelming. She lays low to the ground whenever possible, hating the feeling of being so exposed to a world she knows nothing about. Some cats may eye her strangely, but she can't help being petrified! The surface is dangerous, more dangerous than any beasts the Catacombs can think up! And she knows it's the fear talking but it's still right. The surface is no place for a festival!

why did she have to grow so anxious in such large crowds? she was a fighter, supposed to be ruthless and hold no fear, especially not to other cats!
but she still would tremble near the edge, squeak out as she was startled by passerby greetings, hide and wait so patiently for it to just be over, or for most of the others to leave. indeed, she knew her shyness was silly, and it boiled her blood to know she couldn’t even handle something so simple, but even with her embarrassment and determination, she still ended avoiding the festival as much as possible. guilt, some relief and irritation flowed throughout her as she always turned down invitations, an excuse ripe on a lying tongue as she smiled with fake apology.
a nuisance indeed, but inside she knew she needed to get over this fear. so with time, some force and failures, she used the festival to her advantage. beginning today, she would conquer the fear that caused her to avoid all the fun.
