With an strange appearance, unlike anything before seen within his pride, many of the elder members treated Vayde as a bad omen which, in turn, made other cubs treat him harshly and with caution as well. His mother tried to protect him from the worst of it and argue on his behalf against all others, but this put them even more at odds with the rest of the pride. Just as it seemed that their relations with the other members could not get any worse, Vayde ended up doing something that frightened them all the more. While confronted a trio of cubs that intended to bully him, Vayde accidentally stole away the shadow of one of the other cubs, causing them to lose consciousness. Though they were fine, eventually, as the shadow somehow returned to them, the damage was done. He wasn't exiled yet, but was dishonored, which meant all pride members were not allowed to converse or interact with him.

At first, understandably, he was terrified of his powers of manipulating shadows and this was made all the worse by the fact that even his mother, his only alley, was unable to speak with him or help him. He grew into adulthood mostly on his own. Though he, ultimately, still had the protection of a pride, he fended for himself, hunted for himself, trained himself, by himself. Rather than remaining afraid of his powers, he came to accept them, and utilized them for his own survival. In particular, he tends to get the most use out of his ability to literally vanish into the shadows, seemingly becoming a shadow, himself, which has done miracles for his hunting.

Once he felt he was capable of it, Vayde broke the rules of his dishonorment, finally sharing a last goodbye with his mother, when he told her that he would be all right without her and intended to venture off on his own. Though it also broke her heart that she would not be able to see her son at all anymore, her heart broke more for him, as he lived a life where he was not even able to interact with anyone, so she gave him a tearful goodbye and sent him on his way.

After traveling a great many distances, he heard a rumor of a very unusual pride that was forming within a presumed land of divinity, where it was thought that those that resided there could gain unique abilities and he thought, perhaps, he could fit in with such a group. That they would be able to accept him, as he was. And he sought them out.

Background:
Bindi was born at midnight of a Leap Day, and while everyone knows that that doesn't actually make you age four times slower, it's also common knowledge that if you wish upon a star and blow into a dandelion, your wish is bound to come true. So, needless to say, Bindi ages slower than all of her pride mates. In addition, she is a full blown nyctophile and comes alive when the sun goes down. She's always had a strange habit of sleep walking and insomnia, so she grew to adore her condition. The solitude that night provides also made her withdrawn and private, though, and it's hard for her to develop connections, even though she's dutifully loyal to her pride. Don't try her either, because she's exceptionally cunning and will have you seeing stars before you can blink.

His name means Ghost in Scottish Gaelic.

Taibhse or Tai for short is an incredibly loyal lion. He is completely devoted to his queen and his pride. When he was younger, Tai was teased because his mane was so short, but he soon came to feel proud of his uniqueness, and even flaunt it. The catalyst for this was actually the current queen, Malkia. She told him that his mane did not make him less of a lion, and that he should use it to his advantage. And so he has. He uses his short mane to trick enemies into thinking he is a lone lioness, and then ambushes them. Tai is incredibly cunning as well as strategic. These traits are why Malkia made him her general when she took the throne. But even the clever general has a soft spot, cubs. Tai can be seen playing and teaching the cubs in his past time. He often teaches them stealth and how to lay a trap, his specialties. He is incredibly gentle and compassionate with cubs, a trait that has further endeared him to the pride.

History:
Taibhse was born outside of the Soul Pride and raised in another pride. However, once he became old enough, he was chased out as so many young male lions are. It was then that he stumbled upon Malkia's pride. Malkia was only the Heir at the time. However, the Soul Pride has a tradition of taking in young lions that have been abandoned, and Tai was welcomed with open arms. He grew up alongside Malkia as a close friend and confidant. And when she asked him to be her General and to help her protect their pride, he agreed without hesitation. And upon her coronation, Malkia performed the Soul Ritual to grant Tai enhanced capabilities. He denied at first, not feeling worthy, but then disaster struck. The pride's territory was destroyed by fire. And when it became apparent that the pride would need to find a new territory, Malkia asked again. And Tai could not refuse.

THE NAME:
Like all members of my pride his name is associated with dreams. Derse is a moon dreamland, violet in colour, just like his eyes. It's logo is a moon, similar to the marking on his chest. "Derse" is a portmanteau of "dearth" (scarcity) and "terse" (brief, to the point).

THE CHARACTER:
Derse is the highest ranked member of his pride after the leader. He's a free spirit, loves to joke and prank. He often slacks off and leaves assignments til last minute, but enjoys hunting nightmares and solving mysteries. He's not very strong, but quick and smart. He's often the first one to spot hidden clues and think of new and creative ways of eliminating their prey.

Similarly to his leader, he puts actions over ranks. It tends to cause him problems because lions from other prides consider he lacks necessary respect, but it's also what his king values in him. He speaks in a way that's brief and to the point, even if it means contradicting the king, something other lions aren't comfortable with.

He was born in a tribe located in a savanna, where lands were barren after years of draught. Lack of shelter and scarcity of food meant that he had to quickly learn to survive in harsh conditions. When times were especially rough he would beg for help for himself and his mother. His pleas weren't always welcomed with kindness and that shaped him to be the man he is today. He chose to become part of The Dreamcatchers to help those in need.

He has a good heart and leaves breadcrumbs out for the cockroaches that live in their office. When noone is watching he tries to tame them and teach them tricks to create a tiny roach circus. He even designed little performer outfits for them, but is keeping that a secret. At least, until he figures out how to put them on the roaches.

Today was the day officially become the pride’s messenger and learned the secret of who our leader was. I wondered if they would like me. The messenger is a very special rank after all, we are the only one to know the leader’s true identity, their confident and friend who they can trust with anything. It’s a big responsibility, but was I ready? “Go tonight to the Record Keeper’s Ledge and stand beneath the moon, our leader shall meet you as is our tradition.

As I neared our sacred temple of history, blinking sand out of my eyes and trying to ignore the cold bite of the desert’s night wind, I took in the sights all around me. A vast wall covered in markings, a record of the history of our pride. The testament of our history written by the founder. It was quite a sight to behold. As I stood, mesmerized by the beauty and devotion of the markings, a gentle voice startled my eerie calm. “I see you like my writings. Shall I teach you to read them?” I could barely speak as I turned to look at him. This lion...he had blue eyes that seemed to shine with the light of his vary soul. I had only seen eyes like this once before...but was it possible?! Could our leader really be him?

Extras?: Angalia was given the position of Witness due to her one foot being lame. While still cared for, many of the pride members, with the exclusion of Jiwe, see her as a weakness that is only holding them back. It makes her sad that she is unable to do more for her pride, and that she is unable to prove how much she cares for them.

Her name means thunder in Welsh. I think the name is fitting since her colours & markings reminds me of a thunder storm.

Taron is in the process of establishing a new status in the Wildfire Pride, the 'storm warrior'. She came from a pride in the nearby jungle but was kicked out and ended up in the Firelands. Her fighting strategy is focused on using storms and rainy weather as a cover or distraction in battle. She applies most of this technique to the wildfires but she isn't capeable of becoming a fire warrior as she's too afraid of the fire to actively pick up something that is on fire and use it to her advantage. Overall Taron is very afraid of fire, unlike most of the other lions in her pride. She constantly faces her fears in order to survive under the protection of the pride. Taron should improve over time and she will probably become less afraid, however she will never truly be rid of her underlying instinct to be afraid of fire. -but that's what the wildfire pride is about. All lions in the pride have to overcome their instinct of fear in order to rule the firelands with the very thing all beings there are afraid of.

Taron hopes to teach other lions the storm warrior technique to other lions (which is why she wants it to be a new status in the pride) as she beleives the pride must have knowledge of the rival pride she came from in order to take over her old pride and add the jungle territory to Ozmore's empire. Her true goals are very revenge focused, and she knows by the way the Wildfire Pride behaves that she will be able to get her revenge by being with this pride.

Taron gets along well with the Wildfire pride. Her values that eventually got her kicked out of her former pride are mostly what the Wildfire Pride value and so she fits in perfectly. The lions were quick to accept her after Ozmore recruited her.
