Bluecloud was positively bouncing with excitement as the three cats made their way through the grass. The air near the cliffside was always refreshing, but recently it started to become chilly, indicating the upcoming fall.
The shorthair cat was not used to this, having spent his whole life in the city where the air was stale and rich with smells. He, however, did not give in and fought the cold with sheer determination. He was approached by Shiningheart, whose large size and fluffy coat were perfect for the weather.
"Do you have any idea where we're going?"
Raven didn't answer for a short while. It was clear that he didn't feel comfortable about the answer.
"No. I've never been this way before. Not past the forest."
"Neither have I. I travelled from the east."
It looked like both cats were doing their best not to start a new argument, but Shining decided he had to ask the question burdening him.
"What if we find another clan? Or more specifically, another clan's warriors on patrol?"
In unison they turned their heads to look at Bluecloud, some distance away, practising hiding in tall grass and suddenly leaping into the air to catch invisible prey.
Ravenash shivered a little. Probably because of the cold wind and not his thoughts.
"We'll be fine."
The ginger cat looked at him sceptically, raising an eyebrow.
"I mean it." Ash said with finality in his voice. "With my persuasive skills and Blue's... charisma? I'm positive we'll be able to talk our way out of trouble. Any encounter will be a benefit for us."
Shining didn't look convinced, but shrugged and said:
"If you say so."
Bluecloud caught up to them just as they reached the forest. Shrubbery there was tall and dense, making navigating hard. The easiest way to go would be by jumping from branch to branch or going around. They decided to take a narrow path where the trees ended and a steep cliff begun. It wasn't very safe, but probably faster than trying to wade through the greenery.

toad paws suddenly stopped, the two other she-cats glancing back at her with a slightly perplexed look crossing their faces. the tabby was silent for several moments, her head tilted down to sniff at the ground, muzzle slightly open to better take in the scents. someone had crossed into their land, and they seemed to be alone.
"intruder, let's go." she snapped, leaving little time for protest as she moved quickly past her clan mates, following the scent. whoever this rogue was was, they better have a good reason in coming here. the three of them should easily be able to fend them off, if things came down to a scuffle. mouse and squirrel shared a knowing glance towards one another, then followed their leader, flanked on either side.

Shining raised his paw to stop the others from progressing.
"I smell a fox. It's not too close, we can avoid it if we move quickly."
Raven's ears immediately perked up, his body tensed, reading for combat. Sharp claws moved and dug into the dirt.
"There's three of us, we can take it on."
Shining squinted at him.
"It's like you don't listen to me at all. I'm not going to help you."
Bluecloud looked from one cat to the other.
"We don't have to fight it. We're on a peace mission now, right? Scouting and exploring. We can't do that if we get wounded."
Ash sighed and lay his ears on his head. It would take him some time to get used to these two. Where he lived before, threats were dealt with, not avoided. Then again, he was glad to leave that life behind. This was probably for the best.
"You're right. Lets move on, before it notices us."

Quarryclan
Flintstar started off all by himself, up the ledges of the quarry he lives in. He slipped on a rock on his way up, so it took him a bit to get up. " Do you need help old man? " A voice called from beneath him. " I'm fine, thanks. " He huffed, and made his way carefully to the top. He started into the woods for an evening patrol, and started towards fallen trees. He walked carefully across the old tree that lay across the stream that separated fallen trees and the abandoned quarry. He hunted for a while, fell out of a tree while chasing a squirrel. He was tired, his paws were hurting, and the sun was going down. He carefully made his way to his home, and gracefully leaped down into the depths of the quarry, and crept to his den to rest.

Whispers in the Night slunk through the dense undergrowth, his paws sliding along the
cool, shaded, earth as his whiskers twitched, pale green eyes set ablaze with determination.
Even though it was green-leaf, the thick canopies of the trees towering above him had
sheltered his darkly colored fur from the harsh rays of the sun that threatened to force
his hunting trip short due to overheating. His eyes flickered as something darted in front
of his very paws, drats! He had been so distracted by the smell of pine that he hadn't noticed
the small mouse that he had started. His eyes squinted and he childishly raked his claws
along a fallen leaf, shredding it to relieve his frustration, but slowly his mood began to
settle and his head shook, whiskers twitching. He was here to hunt, not play, and nothing
would stop him from completing the task. A soft sigh left his jaws as he continued his patrol,
picking up the pace into a light trot, drowning out the pine-scent with his own focus, eyes
narrowing, the spark returning to them as the shadows around him flickered to life, being
fueled by his sheer willpower. He was going to do this.

[Moosetrot stood at the center of his camp and called together the cats that he had chosen to take on patrol that day "Gingerclaw! Bluefall!" Both Gingerclaw and Bluefall sprinted to the center of the camp to meet up with Moosetrot. "Today" he says "We are going down to the river, Gingerclaw you need practice with your hunting, as patrolling the borders and battling is not everything our clan needs. Bluefall, I couldn't think of a better cat to teach him" So they headed out. The river they are headed towards is in more of a rocky area than a foresty one so they all carefully walked down the narrow ledge of the ravine to get to the river at the bottom, luckily, here the rapids are clam and the water is shallow, so Bluefall slowly treads her way out into the river.]

[Joke's On You]

Suntail had stopped dead in her tracks, narrowing her eyes. "Stop." She mumbled to her clanmates. She had caught scent of a Badger, which was something she wasn't too thrilled about considering what the beasts did to cats. The leader of Soulclan would not be pleased to hear such news of a badger infiltrating the forest, but the news would have to be spread. Turning around to face the two toms accompaning her, she sighed. "There's a badger nearby. I can smell it." Suntail was silent for a few more seconds, pondering what sort of action should be taken. Should they ignore it and deal with it later when there were more cats? Or should they try and chase it off now and avoid having to do it later. There were only three of them, so she was iffy on the entire situation.

Polar Bear and Badgerclaw sat there and waited for further instructions from Suntail. They both noticed her struggling in her decision. Badgerclaw wasn't going to allow herself to make the decision alone, so spoke about his thoughts. "Well, there's three of us." He began. "You are still very young, which also means you're probably quick on your feet still, as you're still growing. And I'm also still young. I have you by only a few years. I'm still quick on my feet, but I also can think of solutions on the spot if I need to. And then we have Polar Bear here..." Badgerclaw guestured to the gigantic cat, who looked more like a yeti than anything. "Together, I think we'll be able to fend off this badger if it comes down to it. And as a plus, since my name is Badgerclaw, maybe that gives us a little bit of luck from The Spirits."

Suntail nodded her head, taking Badgerclaw's words into consideration. Finally, she looked at Polar Bear, then over to Badgerclaw. "Alright. I can't help but feel that Adder would be livid if we didn't make an attempt to chase it out of the territory first. We'll go after that badger and show it who runs this forest." She said confidently, grinning. "Pray to The Spirits. Let's get a move on!"

Surely enough, all of the cats on the patrol prayed. They'd need it.

The moon shone brightly in the sky as the trio slinked beneath the canopy of leaves above them. The gray tabby she-cat, Featherstar, lead them through the thick foliage. Earlier before they had left for this night patrol, the three had eaten their fill of prey. Now, however, they were looking to make up for the new empty spaces in their prey pile.

After stalking towards the center of the territory, the three clanmates agreed to scavenge separately through the same area in search of anything they could find.
