Euphorian Thoroughbred #127

Postby j. bourne » Mon Sep 16, 2019 2:55 am

Welcome to the Euphorian Retired Racehorse Project
Euphorian Thoroughbreds are a rare string of the Thoroughbred breed. They come from a single farm simply called “Euphoria” that has horses with mutated genes. These allow them to be able to possess any realistic coat or markings. Everything else about the sub-type is the same. Long, strong legs, a powerful hind, and great speed. Their eyes are soft and the breed is incredibly smart, if not a bit goofy. They love kids and have the rare ability to excel in any discipline. They can grow from 15hh-18hh, though usually somewhere in the middle.
The horses readopted through the Euphorian Retired Racehorse Project are looking for a new loving home and a new job. They’ve tried racing and have either retired or decided the sport wasn’t for them. Either way, they are ready for the next chapter in their life. Some of these horses will come with a little training already, and will have their new discipline already determined. Although others you’ll get to pick how they move forwards!

Show Name: Disasters Final Revenge
Barn Name: Mayhem
Gender: Stallion
Age: 8
Height: 16.4hh
Discipline: barrel racing
Enemy: the annoying goat in the neighbors pasture
Reason:
Mayhem never really had any issues with anyone. He never hated anyone nor did he ever make enemies, as he was a generally pleasant guy, and wasn't bothered by much. However, there was a goat who always came over from the neighbors pasture. He was horribly mannered and was never polite and ate entirely too much. So much he had come over to start getting to the horse feed before the horses had even woken up to eat.
After eating the horse feed, he'd help himself to their water and start gnawing on everything he could get his mouth on. Mayhem was getting quite annoyed that his heard was being robbed daily of their food. Even the humans were tired of this goat getting on their property. He had been shooed away plenty of times, the first couple times weren't an issue until it became his daily business. He would eat his food, and then slip through a hole he had chewed in the fence, eat the horses food, and eat whatever else caught his eye. He fancied the trash a lot. Not to mention, he never spoke a word. Just ate and left.
No matter what anyone did to try to keep him from escaping, he always did. The humans eventually just set feed buckets for each horse, hanging in the stalls.

Show Name: Make ‘Em Run
Barn Name: Dash
Age: Four Years Old
Height: 16hh
Halter: Gold:)
Discipline: Barrel Racing
Enemy: The Big Bag Water Hose
Reason: Dash was a bold horse, not a lot really scared him; plastic bags and sirens were only annoyances. But the one thing that seemed to bother him was baths; he stared Francesca down with as much power as he could muster, lead pulled taut as he pulled away from his female handler who held her mighty weapon. The hose.
She sprayed the ground and Dash kicked up mud and dust, snorting loudly as she tried to calm him back down; reassuring him as best she could. Perhaps he'd need to be bathed a different way since the hose clearly wasnt going near him again.

Show Name: BBR Strawberry Fields Forever
Barn Name: Berry
Gender: Stallion
Age: 6 years old
Height: 16.3hh
Discipline: Cross Country
Enemy: dinkleberg those dang squirrels
Reason:
Berry lives in a lush field full of green grass and beautiful foliage; he certainly is a lucky boy! One oak tree has inhabited that field longer than Berry or any other horse or person on the property has even existed. It was practically ancient. It was the perfect tree to hide underneath to escape the hot sun’s rays in the summer. The only problem is that Berry and the other horses weren’t the only ones who thought the massive oak tree was perfect. A colony of squirrels whose population surges each year has made their homes within said oak tree, since it provides them with protection as well as acorns for sustenance. These little critters aren’t keen on sharing however, nor are they very kind. Whenever one of the large horses would stroll under the shade of the oak, they all immediately begin chattering wildly, as if to sound an alarm. Multiple squirrels will then hurl acorns down at the poor equines to deter them from encroaching upon their space. Berry, as well as the other horses he gets turned out with, usually end up fleeing in fear as the acorns rain down on them. Berry wishes he could do something about those dang squirrels so he could get his favorite tree back, but until horses can figure out how to climb trees, he’s a little stuck.

      Gender: Stallion

      Height: 17.4 hh
      Discipline: Poles (Weaving)
Enemy: Burrs from off the ground, especially in spring and autumn.
Reason: They fall all over the ground from the trees and get stuck in his short feathering and his mane, making it impossible to keep himself sparkly and clean. He likes to look absolutely perfect.. how dare they mess up his complexion. and god forbid they give him a scratch that disrupts his roan patterning! Whenever he gets them stuck in the end of his tail or his feathering, he meticulously takes all day to attempt to get them out. If he fails, he will always come running to his owner nearly as soon as he's on the property, pratically begging to get into the barn so that they can be removed. Needless to say he's a little bit of a drama queen

Show Name: Fatal Premonitions
Barn Name: Vision
Gender: Stallion
Age: 9 years
Height: 16.2 hh
Discipline: Jumping
Enemy: Himself
Reason: Vision wants to do well in shows, and in his social life. But he always seems to get himself worked up and convince himself he won't do well with things before he even tries, making his worst enemy himself.
He knows he can jump high fences, he does it all the time in practice. But during a show he makes himself nervous thinking what might happen if he messes up, and thinking that way he does mess up.
the same with his social life. He goes into meeting new horses with confidence, but once it comes to talking to them panics about sounding silly or looking weird and makes himself feel awkward.
He wants to fix it, but doesn't quite know how.
