Welcome to the Euphorian Retired Racehorse Project
Euphorian Thoroughbreds are a rare string of the Thoroughbred breed. They come from a single farm simply called “Euphoria” that has horses with mutated genes. These allow them to be able to possess any realistic coat or markings. Everything else about the sub-type is the same. Long, strong legs, a powerful hind, and great speed. Their eyes are soft and the breed is incredibly smart, if not a bit goofy. They love kids and have the rare ability to excel in any discipline. They can grow from 15hh-18hh, though usually somewhere in the middle.
The horses readopted through the Euphorian Retired Racehorse Project are looking for a new loving home and a new job. They’ve tried racing and have either retired or decided the sport wasn’t for them. Either way, they are ready for the next chapter in their life. Some of these horses will come with a little training already, and will have their new discipline already determined. Although others you’ll get to pick how they move forwards!

Show Name: Stone and Pebbles
Barn Name: Beau
Gender: Stallion
Age: 4 Years Old
Height: 16.5hh
Discipline: Trail
Favorite Book or Story: The Last Forest by Laurie Glick
Reason: Beau doesn't remember much from his time as a foal, but he does remember the small bookshelf sitting just across from his old stall. Most of the books on the shelf were large, clunky, and dull, but there was a smaller book that always caught his eye. He loved the picture of a forest on the front with the little animals and would often dream of frolicking around with them. One morning, as he and his mother were being led out of their stall, he paused for a minute at the old bookshelf and pawed a bit at the small green and blue book. The young woman leading his mother stopped too, watching curiously at Beau's fascination with the book.
That night, back in their stall, she came back with a little boy and picked The Last Forest book off the self. They entered the stall together and sat on the floor against the wall. Beau went to go sniff the boy's face, but the boy jerked back away from him, scared of any interaction with a horse. The woman pulled her son in close and began to read. He seemed to calm down while his mother read and Beau was slowly able to get closer and closer, listening intently to the story all the while. Eventually, by the end of the book, Beau was curled up on the stall floor with his head resting on the small boy's lap. He had made a new friend. It was a good night, and ever since then, The Last Forest has always held a special place in Beau's heart.

Barn Name: Dahl
Gender: Stallion
Age: 7 years, 3 months
Height: 16.3hh
Discipline: Therapy horse
Favorite Book or Story: The Giraffe, and the Pelly, and Me - Roald Dahl
Reason:
This short book, filled with jaunty songs and an exciting storyline, was, and still is, Dahl's favourite story. The tale about a young boy and three animals; a giraffe, a pelican, and a monkey, focuses on friendship and working together, and with the uplifting message of no dream being impossible, is an absolute favourite of the stallion!

Show Name: Scarecrow
Barn Name: Scarecrow
Gender: Stallion
Age: 8 Years
Height: 16.4hh
Discipline: Trail
Favorite Book or Story: To Kill A Mockingbird
Reason: Always make an effort to understand others, and always stand up for what you believe in. Scarecrow can be a little timid when it comes to difficult or new obstacles, but that doesn't stop him from pushing through! He is very misunderstood as a trail horse. He isn't chosen often to go on the trail rides due to being so jumpy. But he is trying!

Favorite Book or Story:StellalunaReason: Before he arrived at his current and forever home, he had a small human companion who would come out every morning, feed and water him, brush him, and sit down in the stall with him, reading
Stellaluna, a story of a baby bat who had lost her mother by an owl, before she had learned to fly and was reunited with her by the end of the story.
Everyday, she read it to him, his head in her lap, the girl child stroking his forelock. He was sure it was the little girls favorite, and she was his favorite, so it soon became his. He had heard it more than a thousand times, but it was always like the first time whenever she read it to him. And now he is no longer with her, it's like his own piece of her ingrained into his heart forever.
