Taming Prompt: It was a bright and sunny day, a few small clouds speckled through the blue sky. The temperatures were rather warm outside when I arrived at the sanctuary, I heard of another Skepluvi who was in need of a safe place to call home. I got information on the Skepluvi I was going to look at from the staff and read her intake report. My heart ached when I read about the painful de-horning process she had gone through, immediately I wanted to help her to feel better, to be able to live a new life as a happy Skepluvi. I knew helping her overcome the discomfort of her removed spikes would be a challenge, but I was determined to do something to make her life better.
I made my way to the place where she was being housed by the sanctuary. When I entered the building the first thing that caught my eye was her coat, she was a soft mix of yellow and orange with striking gray splotches that raced down the sides of her entire body. Her fiery colored eyes were warm and friendly, though there was a spark inside her. A spirit that hadn't been defused even after the situation she had been rescued from, she let out a surprised chirp as she stumbled to the front of the gate in the stall she was in. She tilted her head left and right a few times as I approached her, she kept sniffing the air as I heard her tail bump into the sides of the stall a couple of times.
After a few minutes she kept reaching her snout through the bars in the stall door towards me, I got the feeling she was very curious and wanted to explore more of the world outside the building. I reached into my pocket and pulled out a few treats which consisted of seeds, raw sugar cane cubes, and berries. I gently moved my hand towards the door so she would be able to see the treats, once she saw them she burst out in cheerful-sounding barks! I smiled brightly as she leaned in and ate up all the treats, she continued to chirp happily as she walked around in her stall. Almost like she was prancing but stumbling here and there.
When she returned to the stall door I felt her nudge my shoulder, she rested her head between the bars of the stall door and barked as her tail thumped against the floor. I saw the trailer backing into the building as I gathered up some soft straw and bedding to put in the trailer for her ride home. Once the back door to the trailer opened, I walked inside and arranged the straw into a nest-like bed for her to lay down in. Then the door to her stall was open, she tilted her head a few times as she stepped out from the stall and looked around. She chirped and walked into the trailer, taking her spot in the nest bed as she settled down. All the while making happy noises as she pulled up bits of straw and tossed them around. Her true personality was beginning to show, and it was very inspiring to see her have come out from a horrible situation and still carry hope that the next day might just be better than the first. And from then on, her life would be the best life I could give her. <3

On the way home I was thinking of a name for her, though it was difficult, I settled with naming her Kalahari. She had so much spirit that I felt it fit her perfectly! Once we had arrived home, she was eager to meet the other Skepluvias of the Scuffle. Though we did so slowly, since she was stilled being trained to respect personal space. She began to learn quickly from training and help from the others in the Scuffle! One Skepluvi in particular took her under her wing and showed her the ropes.
Alliyah kept close to Kalahari each day, when she wasn't training, the two of them could be seen running around the pastures or resting under the cool shade of the trees during the hottest hours of the day. Kalahari also became close to
Mauriel, another rescued Skepluvi from the sanctuary. To see these two bond over a situation they could relate to was sad, but heart-warming to see how strong and determined they became. They seemed to strengthen each other, neither one of them letting their past get in the way of the future that lay ahead! <3
