animation song; (i know it is stereotypical but i don't really care) Happy by Pharrell Williams
i love this song because it is free and nostalgic and brings back so many nostalgic happy memories, and it means a lot to me. I know that it has a gospel tune (in the chorus) that invites and encourages people to clap along, and join in in a social activity that has people feeling free and at peace.
prompt;
the loneliest people are the kindest. the saddest people smile the brightest. the most damaged people are the wisest. all because they don't want to see people suffer like they do.
dying is easy, young man. living is harder.

animation song; Here I Am - Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarronprompt; This song has always been an anthem to me. I grew up watching Spirit more often than I'd like to admit, and this song always brings me back to the days where life was little more than pizza for breakfast and remembering to feed my fish. It gives me this feeling of empowerment and inspiration, and looking at this kalon, I get a similar feeling. I get a "this is me and I'm proud" vibe. This was always my "feel good" movie, whenever I was feeling real icky, it picked me back up. It's a little silly, but in a way it became a symbol to me. Every song, every scene, every character even held a different meaning, and however small it may seem from an outside perspective, it's something that means the world to me. I immediately thought of this song when I looked at this kal, and I feel like she would definitely stand out as a "this is me, hear me roar" sort of gal. This movie was always a symbol of hope and new beginnings and I guess this kalon seems like she'd be a good symbol of that as well, earning her the name Hope.

animation song; "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing" from "Sing"prompt; I’ll be honest here- Sing wasn’t a movie I initially thought I would like. I thought it looked kind of strange, almost like a ripoff of Zootopia. But I was actually quite pleasantly surprised when I eventually decided to watch it!
I love music- and this movie was definitely full of music! So many good tunes- I ended up listening to the soundtrack over and over again because I loved it so much. It was also very unexpectedly sweet- all of the characters in the movie had their own struggles they had to deal with, and I liked seeing them all get through it with the help of each other and their music.
This song is one of my favorites from that movie- it’s fun and poppy, and it marks the moment when the character singing it finally comes out of her shell and starts gaining confidence. As someone who’s struggled with shyness in the past, I really love and identify with that.
This kalon, too, strikes me as a really bright and joyful fellow- someone who would probably wind up humming upbeat songs (like this one!) a lot. This song fits well with the character I picture for him.

animation song; You'll Be In My Heart (Tarzan)prompt;i've always loved Tarzan and this song made me cry everytime i watched it. i chose this song because i thought it could show the kalon's personality and how adventurous and caring he is. he loves to travel and try new things, always running and being free. free to be himself, and free to do whatever he wanted to do. he learns new things everyday, but he's very stubborn and impatient. he can communicate with elephants and there's really no reason as to why he can, he just can. he doesn't live anywhere and just goes off and does things himself. he'll always remember and think about all the things he's done and learned, and move on. nothing can stop him doing what he wants to do.

✧ animation song; "tale as old as time"
✧ prompt; this song, and the scene that accompanies it, is one of the most beautiful in animation history. currently, i am in my final year of college as an animation major. it's my passion! i study movies like "beauty and the beast" closely. the scene that plays during this song was animated by james baxter (the namesake of this kalon) and is some of the most fluid, detailed and technically brilliant animation ever created. It moves with the song so gracefully, and both the scene and song tell the most incredible story. the song itself contains vivid imagery that comes to life as the instruments swell and as belle twirls across the ballroom (the background of which was one of the first computer animated environments ever made.) and even though most of the lyrics are specific to the movie, i like to think that "tale as old as time" is a reference to an animator's love of telling stories; our deep desire to create timeless characters and breathe new life into something as ancient as art-making. the first human attempts at animation were found in cave paintings over 10,000 years old! animation truly is a tale as old as time. animation song;
i'm a girl like you from
Barbie as the Princess and the Pauperprompt;
Where do I even begin with this movie? I was randomly gifted it many years ago and it took a while for me to watch it because I had no interest in Barbie. But when I did watch it, boy there's a reason why they say not to judge a book by it's cover. Sure, the story has been told before, but the way they did it was really enjoyable. I'm not saying it's original but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked and cared for the characters. I can honestly say it's a very good movie! All the songs... are so good. It's hard to choose between "a girl like you" and "the cat's meow". I chose the former because I think most would agree that it is the standout song in the movie. And the message is great! Everyone has problems, no matter how privileged they seem. Suffering in one way or another is something all humans can relate to. If we would all focus on our similarities, rather than our differences... well, I'd love to live in that world. A rainbow is a wonderful representation of unity, after all.
