A long time ago, when his country was still a kingdom, Jho fought as a soldier. His land was locked in a terrible war against many great beasts and monsters, and he was one of the few knights who were selected to fend these creatures off.
He was part of an elite band of knights, a guild specifically designed to fight these monsters- many of their members were chosen personally by the king himself for the duty. He took immense pride and pleasure in his role in protecting the kingdom. He did what he had to, but he also secretly loved the thrill of battle.
He was one of the best there was when in came to combat, and with the help of his power many battles were won in favour of the Kalon kingdom.
With the protection of the knights came security for the people, but it sadly couldn't last forever. The beasts came together, unified by their greed and lust for power, and initiated an all-out strike against the kingdom. Many cities were destroyed in the battle, and many people were injured, but the Kalons were able to drive them back- just barely.
The beasts grew desperate, and unleashed a massive magical attack. It managed to destroy most of the capital city, and even some of the landscape around it, but with the help of the people, the soldiers, and the monster-hunting guild, Kalon-kind was able to defeat the beasts and drive them away from their land permanently.
The kingdom slowly climbed back to their previous state of prosperity, and the guild members were celebrated as heroes. The king held a great feast for them, and this holiday is even celebrated to this day (even if the meaning is a bit lost-to-history).
Unfortunately, Jho was lost in that battle. Fallen to the Great-Wyvern, the leading general of the beasts. Though he was lost, he was able to slay the beast as well.
Although... Some say that we wasn't lost forever, and that some of the remaining magical energy from the attack was able to reanimate, or revive him. So still, to this day does he wander the country side, and the uninhabited wilds, ever vigilant in the events of another attack.
Because if he was able to survive, who says that the Great-Wyvern and his men couldn't as well?
