"As rescuers pulled more and more Skepluvias from the barn, the animals were getting progressively sicker and sicker. Even the ones with no outward injuries were falling all over the place, fainting, you name it. This queen was one of the sickest, their steps were heavy and miscalculated, eyes glazed over, and body temperature high. One of the other rescuers ran from the barn just as the poor Queen fell, legs jerking, tail thumping against the ground. In the rescuers hand was a box, the label? Rat poison. This was something that a lot of backyard animal exploiters would do to get rid of the 'evidence' of abuse. The rescue mission had just become dire with this revelation. Just as the Skepluvi stopped jerking, we got them to their feet, rushing them into a trailer to take to an emergency large animal clinic. There, they received the medical care they needed, but with so many poisoning cases, the hospital's barn was full. They all needed to start heading out to their new homes, and soon. This Skepluvi Queen will need someone dedicated to daily medications and physical therapy as they recover from the sudden illness, keep up with them and they should be good as new in no time! "

I was informed I could take in another rescue! I headed back to the place they were being kept and found a queen who imedietly caught my eye, her beautiful pastel colored coat covered in scars. "You poor baby," I said quietly looking over the intake report. My hand moved to let her smell my scent. Cotton jerked away at first, but soon placed her head on my hand, I couldn't help the smile that spread over my face. "It'll be okay, Cotton." She perked instantly at the name I chose for her accompanied by a small sound of happiness. It wasn't the simplest thing, but I got her home and into a pen. 'I'll let her rest for today.'

I go to see her everyday, each day she's been getting better and better, I'm so proud of my little Cotton!
