There are three small, wooden buildings at the heart of camp, long ago abandoned by their creators. desman's favorite location at camp is atop the main building, where the clan holds their meetings and where the young are often looked after. from here, he can relax without the worry that one of the others will draw him into unwanted conversation. while des is very social on his good days, there are times when he needs to be alone, and he hadn't yet explained this to his clanmates well enough to understand. on top of the building, he can remain at the camp he loves, but still finds peace in solitude. various mosses and vines have found their hold on the roof, and desman enjoys laying on top of these. in addition, he still gets to be close to the other cats, and can even eavesdrop on their conversations from time to time, although he'd never admit to this.

It's quiet there, not silent, there is too much wind, but that quiet of solitude which Mistlight has a hard time finding anywhere else.

Most of her clan mates avoid eye contact with her, for obvious reasons.

when leopardstream was just a small apprentice, she discovered an amazing place just outside of the camp that provided her with calm even in the hardest of days.
leopardpaw was heading home after a long morning of dawn patrol and rabbit-hunting, ready to run down the slope into the camp and collapse in her nest, when she spotted something. instead of going down the slope that led into the camp, leopardpaw padded along the top of the dip, just above the tunnels that lead to the dens. it was where the gorse and heather bushes grew, growing just over the indent in the earth where they had made their camp. something made her paws itch to go farther into the bushes that rooted above the camp. so she did, pushing her way through.
and inside of the bush, there was a small sheltered dip in the sandy soil that made up the moor. it was covered by the bushes, just enough space for leopardpaw to stand up in. it was completely hidden from the eyes of the cats below, and so leopardpaw could see what was happening in the camp without butting into other cat's conversations. leopardpaw used this secret place almost everyday, as a little hideout or someplace to sleep when she needed to get away. it was perfect, and leopardstream still uses it to this day without anyone finding out.
