Intake Report: Scars on Front Arms, Muzzle, & Tail
"As this Skepluvi was walked out from the rows of cages and onto the trampled grass pathway to the trucks, their situation was noticeably different from those previously removed. Their personality was hardly there, their eyes glazed over and apparent scars on their arms, muzzle and wrists quite thick from years after years of binding. It seemed as there was no fight left in this animal, and after a quick look over from the vet, they explained the injuries were from being used for blood 'donations' since birth. See, Skepluvi have the same blood types as humans, and therefore their blood could be used for human patients that needed transfusions. They usually chose the 'donors' to be hand-tamed more carefully from birth, so they wouldn't be quite as afraid as humans as the racers were. In comparison to the animals used for racing, they lead quite 'better' lives. Less cramped cages, access to regular food and water, taken care of at a very basic level. What this Skepluvi never had was the presence of others of their kind. They were absolutely terrified when they were led passed the other animals, going as far as to nearly escape the handler's grasp as they were moved towards the trucks. This gelding will need a separate space from the others in your scuffle as they are reintroduced to other Skepluvias, slowly. A kind hand and lots of treats should go a long way!"

Taming Prompt:
I knew it wouldn't be too easy, getting them used to being around others, however I knew I needed to help them. The trip home was fairly silent besides a few wimpers from Petal and my soft humming I hoped would calm them down. When we got home, I went to the back of the trailer an lead them out carefully. I had previously decided to take them in through the back and keep them in one of the back stalls, where it was quieter, but the other Skepluvias could be heard. I placed my hand on Petal's head, stroking it softly before leading them in. There was enough space for them and lots of hay where they could rest. I moved to a storage cabinet with food and treats for my Skepluvias. I pulled out the bag of treats and walked back to Petal. They we're still getting used to the unfamiliar place, but turned to me when they caught sight of the small bag of berries I had. I couldn't help but smile as they rushed over to me, eager for the snack. I was happy to see them as they relaxed more and more into their surroundings. Over time, I plan on moving them one stall closer to the others. In doing that, hopefully they can ease into being around others again.
