The catacombs are a vast underground network of tunnels, only accessible by a few select spots on the surface.
Ancient cats carved and explored these tunnels through centuries of hard work. At the heart of the catacombs
is a nook bustling with life: Catalena. Here cats live harmoniously in groups called guilds, in which every memb-
er has it's own special role. There are merchants, barbarians, witches, foragers, every type of citizen you could
imagine. Everyone contributes to Catalena in their own way and keeps it safe for the cats that live there.

It was the rain that woke him up.

Softly pattering, water drops falling down and splashing cold against his face. His pitiful mews caught the attention of passerbys and they found him, this scrawny kit wrapped in a tattered blanket and left in a barrel in the shipyard.

So close to the surface, the earth roof was open to the Outside, and if it had not been for the rain, he may have carried on sleeping forever.

They say it takes a village to raise a child, and it was this boating town that raised him. Adventurer's told him stories of the outside, tales of bravery and heroism. They named him Mako, after one of the creatures that roamed the Outside's oceans.

It was through their stories that he gained a yearning for adventure. When he could ignore the pull no longer, he made his way to the center of Catalena in search of a Guild to join. He wanted be a hero, to battle, to protect.

He believed that the rain had awoken him for a reason; that he had been rescued for a purpose. The rain had saved him so that, in return, he could save others.

Prompt: marcel loves the rain- well, loved. it used to bring him joy to sit in his cabin and listen to it hitting his window- he used to fall asleep to the noise. now, though, it bit into the raw skin of his wrists where the cuffs cut into him. it's cold and he can't stop shivering, but from where he was left in a field by a beach, there's nowhere for him to hide from the weather. he's grateful for the hood he's able to maneuver up his head, and, though it doesn't do much, it comforts him, muffling the sound of thunder rolling in the distance and the rain picking up, beating down on where he's tied up. marcel falls asleep freezing cold and hungry.

two years later and he wakes up in his room to thunder rolling overhead. he flinches, but it doesn't truly bother him until he hears the rain pouring on his window. it makes him jump each time it's a bit too loud, and even with a pillow over his head he can't fall back alseep. staring at his wall, he cries as he reminisces to when this was the most comfortable noise he knew.

of rain hit the ground. atlaua landed a blade in an opponent's shoulder
when they were distracted by the sudden cold downpour. atlaua's side
was gaining ground. she pushed on, feeling the water seep into her fu
r. it streaked down swords along with blood. ice magic flew past atlau
a's head and she felt a numbing cold on her ear. she grit her teeth and
kept fighting. her side was outnumbered. but soon, she heard a call of
retreat. her opponents were out of their element.

Simply put, Triton loves the rain; such a simple form of nature, yet it arrives in many forms.

Rain can be a slight drizzle, a mist even, gently showering everything below and helping plants grow.
On the other hand, it can crash down in storms and hurricanes, gathering the power of the sea and wind to aid in destroying everything below. When you think about it, rain is like the cats who journey within the catacombs. Some are kind to their core, just waiting to lend a helping paw to anyone who needs it. Others aren't bound by morals and leave a path of chaos and destruction behind them wherever they go.

Some fear the rain and will take shelter once the first drop strikes their fur. On the contrary, some may seek it out, embracing the downpour and jumping in the puddles it creates. Whether the roaring thunder strikes terror into your heart or rials you up with excitement, the rain still comes. No matter how many comrades die in battle or fall prey to misfortune, the rain will always come back in whichever form it desires. That's apart of the reason why Triton finds it so comforting.
