Sycamore's face lit up like a child on a particular winter holiday when she realized that the boat was up and running, and going home was something well within their grasp now. No longer would she be taunted by nightmares of her precious plants withering away without her and the proper care they needed. Her laptop would be at her side consistently, with plenty of wifi. And the city would offer any sort of restaurant she was in the mood for, not just random island cuisines and pretty fruits. It was all she could do to keep from bouncing on her heels in excitement.

She moved quickly so she could be one of the first ones in line to get back on their beautiful ship. Despite how lovely the island had been, the novelty had quickly worn off on her - especially with the constant missions and weird things happening. It was hardly a relaxing vacation.

Of course, she had all of the samples from the plants here tucked away as safely as she could. Swaddled like children and cradled carefully in her favorite dufflebag slung over her shoulder. If someone so much as touched it she wouldn't hesitate to go after them. Sycamore would make sure these exotic beauties made it to their new home in pristine condition, and grew into wonderful, glorious healthy plants.

However, there was the slightest tang of regret when she looked at the beautiful ocean waves that maybe she hadn't given this vacation the chance that it deserved. Then again, she'd never been one happy when her plans were changed out from under her. She'd paid for a relaxing cruise, not to be trapped on an island with a bunch of random kalons she'd never met before. Who knew... maybe she'd give the cruise another chance in a year or two, actually enjoy lounging on a nice boat while waiters brought her food and she occasionally dipped her toes into a nice lap pool.

Mac looks towards the cruise ship.
“This was no vacation, resting, nah, this was a real adventure.” He nods his head.
Then he slowly looks behind himself.
He runs towards it “I don’t wanna go back- take me in aaaa-” he says, and slips on a rock, falling head first. He raises his head, his mouth was again full of sand “Isn’t this how it all started hmm?” he thinks there, feeling as if his legs were completely broken.
Lying there, he looks at other passengers, buying last items, saying their goodbyes, some rush towards the ship, others are slowly dragging their legs.
His phone rings, this is the 1205 call he ignored, and he ignored it this time, too, soon a message followed, this is the 2623 message. Mac sighs. “I’m surprised they didn’t send cops or someone after me, cuz I didn’t reply to them for so long.” just as he said that, the seagull, Bob appeared near him, with a walkie-talkie in his legs.
Mac swears Bob winked, before he flew away. “Weird” he said, and picked up the walkie-talkie
“Hello, Empty Toaster, are you there? Over- wait not over, I see him!! I see Mac, I mean uh- Lost Child-” Mac threw the walkie-talkie away as far as possible, and got up, to run, run as far and as away- until he fell down again, there’s rocks everywhere.
“I should’ve knew they’d do this. Oh well. I will enjoy my last few seconds here, before they grab me and throw me into the cruise” he said, shrugging, and putting his sunglasses on. He rummaged through his bag, and picked up an apple juice.
“Now we wait.”
He said, and smirked.

Though relieved not to be stuck anymore, she feels a bit sad to be leaving so soon, and she will definitely return someday if she ever gets the chance.

Prompt 15: How do they feel about going home? Will they ever come back?
Do they head home, or maybe decide to stay?

Alania sat on the beach, alternating her gaze from the ocean in front of her to the island behind her. She was trying to memorise the appearance of...everything, of the people she met and the ocean and activities she had done. She wanted to go home, she knew that. As much as she loved the experiences here, she missed her home and the cold. And though she may never be able to come back to this island, she would apply what she had learned here: that people are often open to interaction, and that she had to broaden her horizons. If she never had this cruise and met the wonderful people of Kalokairi, she may have stayed in her little forest, talking only to her animals and never venturing beyond the boundaries of the treeline. So she had to go back to her home and try to talk to the townspeople nearby and discover the wonders that have always been so close to her. And perhaps she would become an explorer, and someday find a way to return to this island to thank the inhabitants for allowing her to grow and change.
So having burned the beauty of this place into her mind, she stood up and walked to the cruise ship, her heart light even though she would be leaving her second home.

As soon as Syrilli saw land, he went what the kids these days would call "feral".
It had now been a month since he'd been able to see, much less annoy, Lucien-
and it was driving him mad.
He missed the cold man much more than he'd assumed he would, what with the
mini-argument they'd had when Lucien informed Syrilli he'd be attending the cruise
in Lucien's place so Luci could take care of business without the (boisterous) interruptions
he'd have to deal with every day Syrilli was in proximity of his office.

When the cruise landed, Syrilli all but dived off the deck, luggage in tow, and sprinted
into the chest of the tall man currently checking his watch.

After knocking the breath out of the man's lungs, he glanced down at the pale person
gripping his chest.

"I take it you missed me?" a deep voice chuckled from over Syrilli's head.

"Why would I ever miss a brute like you? I just got bored is all," he huffed out
in response, before hurriedly backing away from Lucien's (now crumpled) suit.

Lucien stared at the man currently spinning loops in his desk chair.
The entire office had been, to an extent, reclaimed by Syrilli, what with all
his belongs strewn about haphazardly.

"How do you feel about going back?" Lucien all but grumbled, staring mirthlessly
at the clutter spread across his desk.

"Hell no!" was the only reply he received, accompanied by a grin.

Cesar for once looked visibly pleased and happy when he got on the ship and looked back on the island as the loud whistle rang on the ship which signaled their departure. Cesar was really glad that the ship was once again moving along smoothly and that he would be home soon. He had gotten terrible homesick and worried about his crew back in New York and he couldn’t wait to tell them about all of the crazy things he had ran into on that island.

Cesar watched as the residents on the island were waving to everyone on the ship. Some were even throwing flowers, others taking pictures. Cesar grunted a bit but he ended up being one of the last people standing and staring back at the island until it was no longer visible. He savored every minute of staring at that island that he stayed on for what felt like months. He wanted a visual image of the island in his head so he could remember it forever and maybe eventually try to pinpoint where it was located at out in this vast sea. Cesar did decide though that he would at the very least do some snooping and find a way to write letters to Carter every now and then and keep in contact with how he was doing, although he wasn’t going to tell his crew that. He had a reputation to uphold back in New York.
