toad and mouse were pleased with their finds, but decided to continue on their patrol. after taking a short break at one of the smaller streams, the two continued on in silence.

back at the camp, squirrel scoffs at the pair's horrendously stored herbs. it was clear that neither one of them knew quite what to do with them. after taking the time to better place them, the she-cat gave a yawn and stretched out her figure. she'd been inside for longer than intended, and so decided to head out on a short patrol. slinking through the broken wall, squirrel leisurely made her way to the boarder.

"It's nice out tonight." Kitetuft glanced up to the sky full of stars above him. He was resting on a low hanging tree branch belonging to one of the old oak trees that clustered around DriftClan's camp. He felt the branch shake as Fallenstar leaped up to join him. He took a minute to steady himself, digging his claws into the branch as Kitetuft chuckled as his clumsiness.

"I don't see why you like it up here so much," Fallenstar grumbled, pressing himself against his deputy as he waited for the branch to steady.

"Well, I am named after a bird." Kitetuft purred, rubbing his cheek against Fallenstar's. "Wanna go for a stroll? It has been a while since just the two of us have gone out."

"You could have suggested that before I got up here," Fallenstar shakily rose to his paws, giving Kitetuft a playful shove to try and hide his fear. He jumped down, grateful that his paws were back on the ground. Kitetuft did the same, kindly choosing not to point out Fallenstar's fear of heights.

The pair wordlessly padded out of camp together, silently enjoying each other's company. That is until they heard a twig snap behind them. Knowing that she was caught, Softpaw shot out of the bushes she was hiding in and went to stand in front of the two toms.

"Oops." Softpaw flattened her ears and widened her eyes, trying to look as innocent as possible. Kitetuft lashed his tail in annoyance, while Fallenstar couldn't help but be amused with the apprentice's antics. Though he was a bit disappointed that it seemed like his alone time with Kitetuft was at an end.

"Why?" Was all Kitetuft asked, clearly trying to control his temper.

"What else was I supposed to do?" Softpaw asked, her mouth curling into a mischevious smile. "My dads abandoned me!"

"We didn't abandon you-"

"We're not your dads-"

But Softpaw had always whirled around and raced off, leaving them no choice but to follow her.

Smokefeather and Starwalker could not, for the life of them, find any prey! Blaming it on their worries about their injured clanmate, Tigerwhisker, they decided to head back to camp and rest for the evening. When they arrived back at camp, he was asleep, snoring softly. Starwalker giggled and the two cats sat down to rest their weary feet.
The next morning, Starwalker checked on Tigerwhisker's wounds.
"Looks like it's healing well!" she exclaimed, and he nodded.
"I feel much better already,"
Starwalker and Smokefeather decided to head back out to look for prey and herbs, hopeful about Tigerwhisker healing. The pair walked softly through the forest, scenting for prey, predators, or herbs.

Dodge’s housecat lifestyle left him stumped, he’d need somewhere to stay, few options in a barren desert. Rocks and sand. An enthusing list of options. Dodge huffed as he managed to squeeze himself into a small crevice in some rocks. The sand was much cooler in the sand and he found himself burying his face in it. He buried his pathetic group of scraps and tormentil in the sand. Attempts to stay awake were fleeted by heat exhaustion, and the tom slept for the entire night.

“You can’t ignore me houndstar,” the dreamy voice purred.

Time to search some more.

It had been a couple of days before Cloverstar finally went out to patrol once more, she hasn't been lately as she gathered the prey to stock up a big prey-pile and the herbs were many. Not only that but it had rained for exactly 2 straight days and Cloverstar wasn't optimistic of what she could find in the rain.

Cloverstar headed towards the river, it was a nice warm day unlike the past few and it wasn't too hot for the prey to be hiding under the cold ground. Quickly lapping at the fresh and clean water, she stood up and gazed around her territory, quot proud of her selected location. Hopefully other cats would think so too.

As they were walking side-by-side in comfortable silence, Starwalker spotted something orange out of the corner out of her eye. She bristled up and whispered to Smokefeather. The pair of them silently hunkered down in the undergrowth and waited for the fox to pass, hoping it wouldn't scent or spot them.

Unable to find the fox, the two she-cats began their trek back to camp, slightly discouraged at the lack of found food or any fun from a fight. Shadowpelt let out a loud yawn, echoed by the sound of Dusk’s stomach growling. The two stopped and munched on a vole they’d caught earlier.

Satisfied, the duo resumed their search. Dusk was hopeful that they’d find something else on the way back. She knew that food stores were getting scarce back at camp. She’d made up her mind that if things came down to it, she’d be the one to starve. She didn’t want sweet woodfur and bluefeather to have to suffer for the hunting party’s shortcoming when they were spending restless days and nights protecting what little bit of life was theirs. The members of beechclan had never had much, but they got by, and Dusk wasn’t about to let that change. She knew Woodfur was capable of leading the clan; they could get by without her.

Of course, she would do everything in her power to keep the clan from getting to that point, even if it meant hunting all day and all night.
