Favorite Memory: The fields had never bloomed like this before. The lush green pasture was thriving with flowers in ranging in color from the palest pink to deep purple, all waving in a gentle breeze which brought tiny butterflies that flitted about the blooms. Sophie frolicked into the rainbow pasture, the young calf running ahead of her mother, and dove into a pile of emerald clover dotted with ivory flowers. She rolled happily in the sweet plants, the crushed leaves gently tinting her fur green. Jumping back to her feet she greedily grabbed a mouthful of the sweet plant and trotted back to her mother who, along with the other cows, where now into the middle of the field. "Mama, Mama," the happy calf exclaimed as she reached her dam, "the pasture is different! Every thing has changed! What happened since we were here last?" Her sooty grey mother laughed gently and explained to the yearling, "each year is a cycle. You were born after this part of the cycle so this is the first time you get to see spring. You were born in summer so you remember this pasture as being full of just grass, we left this field during autumn when the plants start to go, and while we were away in winter, this entire pasture was covered in snow. Now the snow has melting and it is once again time for the flowers." The little calf opened her dark eyes wide in wonder as she thought to herself, "does this mean that every year this pasture is this pretty?" Her mother chuckled softly, "yes my dear Sophie, every year this field is this beautiful, may you live to see many of them."
