Oxford jogged up to the group of people he'd been hanging out with ever since the crash happened. It had been quite a few days now and everyone had been drafted into helping out beach combing for spare parts, not that he was complaining - it was a great opportunity to get to know the other kalons better! Plus, little bit of hard work never fazed Oxford. Renovating the main room of the recordshop so that it could function as that space required a lot of sweat and elbow grease which Oxford didn't shy away from. Instead, he found he could enjoy it in the company of Desmond - cracking jokes with each other and finding the fun in such mundance activities.

As he ran, a cool salt breeze ruffled his hair and he closed his eyes for a moment to appreciate it. Within the next few seconds, Oxford would discover what a truly bad idea it was to move without looking where he was going. His toes collided with something hard in the sand and he flew head-first forwards into the ground - he didn't even have the time to cushion his fall and was greeted with a lovely mouthfall of sun-warmed sand.

Looking behind him, Oxford realised he’d tripped over a coconut shell... how embarassing! What else would he find (or trip over) in the next hour?

Bunny's not lost. She's sure.

There's no way to get lost on an island.

She's... sort of sure.

It's just when Baby Shark pointed her in the direction to go beachcombing perhaps she went a little too far out of bounds.... Or maybe he pointed her in the wrong direction because of the name she called him by(more likely and now she's suddenly regretting the nickname that is stuck on her tongue).

She had traipsed into the wooded area beyond the tidepools and now.... She's sure she's walking in circles. She's seen that tree three times. Or maybe all the trees look the same? Bunny's never been hiking, not in her life, and is far more comfortable in a building than in the jungle.

"HELLO?" the bunny-eared kalon yells, stomping through the underbrush. Nothing answers her.

A half an hour passes with her walking in continuous circles. In fact, she wears a trail of footprints into the earth with all her stomping. Anyway, half an hour passes and it sends her into daydreams.... About donuts. Did you expect anything less?

She imagines fresh greasy dough, shiny and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Oooooh, or the blueberry donuts with a crunchy sugar glaze. Bunny's mouth waters. She can almost smell the vanilla, sweetdough, and spices.

Wait.

She can smell it.

Bunny's ears shoot straight up.

"Eureka!"

A flock of birds scatter at the shrill sound.

"Look what I found!" Bunny crows, presenting her box of treats to Car-cah-dark-a-saurus.

"Where did you get that?"

"On the beach! There was a donut stand! Can you believe it!"

No, he can't believe it. Shark has sincerely hoped she would get lost in the jungle for at least half the day. Barely an hour had passed.

"I thought I told you to go find parts with Captain and their friends?" he scowls.

"I did! I shared some donuts with them. ...Okay, I just gave them one to split between them!"

Shark huffs.

"I also found this FLDSMDFR thing."

"What?"

"You know, Flint Lockwood Diatonic Super Mutating Dynamic Food Replicator," Bunny chirps, offering Shark a bite of her donut. Shark scowls and turns to leave when Bunny hands him a shiny metal chunk. "It's a turbine rotor actually."

Shark snorts. He knows. Finally he gets to leave the bunny-eared kalon's vicinity and he wouldn't tell her that the part would actually come in use.

Sequoia wonders where the rubber ducky came from.

What do they uncover?

Spare parts, spare parts... Iris searched for anything that might resemble metal that could be useful for repairing an engine.

She eventually came to a collection of rocks near the shore, figuring some scraps had a fair chance of washing up there and getting stuck between the crevices. A glimmer certainly caught her eye, reflecting the sun almost brilliantly. Surely that had to be something more than a mere seashell?

The kalon stepped over the rocky surface carefully, placing her paws firmly as to not slip or get her ankle caught in a crack. Eyes concentrated on the shimmer before her, it appeared to have... Moved. She moved her steps more urgently, worried the waves would carry it away from her.

Iris usually wasn't a risky kalon, but this time she took her chances and lept forward to hopefully grasp it underneath her paws. Expecting the feeling of cool metal against her skin, she was instead greeted with a startling yelp that caused her to lose her balance. Luckily, she was able to catch herself instead of plummeting to the freezing waters below.

Confused and a bit scared, Iris' eyes darted around the rocks.

"What do you think you're doing?!" A voice cried from almost directly underneath her. Glancing downwards, Iris was able to see the glimmer that had initially caught her eye. Only it wasn't metal as she expected, but rather in the shape of a flower... On an angry kalon's tail.

"Oh, dear, I'm so sorry! I was out here looking for spare pieces and I, well... I thought your shine might've been something."

There was a pause before said kalon had emerged from the rocks, firey red fur wisping in the air. She squinted her eyes and Iris knew she was done for.

That was until she burst into jubilant laughter. "Aye, that's the best thing I've heard all day! Name's Felina, very nice to meet you."

As a paw was offered to her, Iris sighed with relief as she shook her paw. "Aha... Iris, same to you."

Iris may have not had much luck finding spare parts, but she discovered something far more valuable to her: the start of a life-long friend.

Roe and his best friend, Aden, had decided to use some cheap rental metal detectors for the afternoon. They didn’t really have much else to do besides be at the beach anyways, so at least this way they’d get something out of their lazy afternoon.. If they’re even able to find anything with these cheap sticks. Quite honestly, they looked fashioned out of scrap metal with a mini toilet bowl at the bottom and Roe doubted this thing was anything more than just that. Either way, the two waded in the shallow beach waters and went about their ‘treasure hunt’ which wasn’t much more than the two of them just chatting with each other.

As Roe carefully slides along the sand with his shoes, he feels something small and hard under his feet. He would have passed it off as just a small rock, shell, or even a crab, but as the sand was kicked around a small sparkle caught his eye from under the blue water. Bending down careful enough to not get his hair wet, he reached into the loose sand and moved his hand around slow until he felt the little object again. Grabbing the fist full of sand and shell bits, Roe carefully shook the sand away until nothing but a round, small golden ring sat on his palm. He brought it closer to his face, able to now see the diamond that sat perfectly in the middle of the band. He had found a wedding ring, to be exact. After staring at it a few moments and considering its origin and how it had come to now rest in the sand, he slipped it on his finger. It fit nearly perfectly, hugging around the base of his finger like it had meant to be for him. He let out a deep sigh, and an odd feeling brewed in his stomach at he peered down at the ring and how nicely it had fit his finger. He thought back to Jay, his boyfriend, and felt his cheeks turn the slightest shade of pink. Must be the sun. He gently took the ring off, and laid it back into the sand again.

“Roe!! Did you find anything?” He could hear Aden call from him further down the beach. Roe shook his head at him, and Aden bounded over with his own pockets full of shiny shells, coins, and trinkets of his own.

Prompt 4 Featuring Eli from Team Octopus
Eli

Eli was sent on a boring quest to find spare parts on the beach so Eli did everything but that. Eli joined the beach combing crew to do the quest. A nice bunch of kalons those two were.
The beach felt great and Eli was having fun.
Find trash and clean it up so fish don't suffer from other selfish kalons on the cruise.
Found 20 rupees too bad you don't know what that is so it has like no money value but wow shiny colored gem thing sweet gonna pocket that.
Some seashells for Timothy and the coolest ones a conch but that belongs to Eli.
Time to brag about that and spend ten minutes listening to the ocean while everyone else works to find spare parts.
Cool very cool.
Drink kalsun for twenty more minutes.
Sleep for an hour and get poked by an annoyed Captain.
"Found some driftwood for ya."
"Take it to Shark."
"Take that to Carter. I got no use for that."
"Oh cool driftwood."
I guess Eli found cool things but realistically Eli didn't wish to be here and would rather go back to sleep.
Maybe be surfing or snorkelling instead of this but at least weather is good.
