amidst the hoards of disgruntled passengers, brielle was one of the select few that were absolutely thrilled that the ship had stopped here. she'd never heard of kalokairi before, but these lush little jungle islands were known to be swarming with all sorts of exotic birds. it was birdwatcher heaven! as soon as the gangplank came down, she was scrambling for the treeline, arms full with her binoculars, journal, sketchbook, camera, and nearly 7 tropical bird-identifying books. macaws, parakeets, toucans - they were everywhere! she frantically snapped photos and jotted down the names of every one she saw. admittedly though, she was on the lookout for something a little more different than your classic beach fowl. she had always dreamed of discovering a new bird species, and on an obscure little island like this.... she thought this might finally be her chance! in fact, her eyes had just landed on a rather extravagant looking parrot with a long tail, purpley wings, and a bright green head. it was unlike anything brielle had ever seen! she felt her heart racing as she flipped through every book, and sure enough, it wasn't in any of them. her mind was already swarming with name ideas for the new species as she snapped pictures from every angle. it looked like this cruise had been a good idea after all!

So it seemed they would be here a while, and that was alright to him.

Anthony laid on the warm sand in his swimming trunks, umbrella above him. The wind was gentle, air was fresh and even the sound of people further away from him seemed to melt into a calming backdrop. This was relaxing as hell, he thought, eyes closed and a few seconds away from drifting off to sleep.

"Anthony." A deep, smoky voice roused the young mage from his slumber and caused him to sit up. "What's up Musashi?" He asked the Japanese man somewhat surprised, who was standing over him. "How long were you standing there?"

"...I want to surf." That didn't answer my question...

"Sure but why? You don't seem like the surfing type." Musashi simply looked over to the area everyone else was swimming in, but he was clearly looking past it and at something only visible to his coal colored eyes, and Anthony could feel the resolve emanating from him.

Some time later, and Musashi was in his own black swimming trunks, with his board by his side. Anthony had explained all the precautions to take before attempting to go into the water, and had it not been summer they would be wearing a wet-suit. All that was left to do was go into the water.

The wave looked small enough, Musashi thought. At-least, it did when he was still on the sand. Paddling forward and looking at the rising wave it seemed gigantic. But he paddled on regardless, determined to catch the wave. Eventually he positioned himself in the right spot of the forming wave, but attempting to stand up quickly resulted in him slipping off the board and into the water below. Alarm struck him and caused him to panic, struggling under the water. Suddenly, Musashi was in the same position he was that day that ended his samurai career. Except this time he remained conscious, pulling his head above the water only to be sent back down by the rolling wave.

"I knew that wave was too big." Anthony was already in the warm water, and before long had pulled the frantic man back to shore with his board. "Are you good man? I'm sorry I underestimated the wave." Musashi didn't answer him, coughing up debris and sea-water.

When he had calmed down, he faced a worried Anthony with a rare look of excitement. "I want to go again."

sharkbait help out the map as she stood on the dock. the small town stood in front of her inviting to explore it. on the map, there seems to be quite a bit more to do along the beach. the island itself seemed quite intriguing in her opinion as the town and beach provided a way to explore comfortably without wandering too far from others while the forest further away from the dock. however, she couldn't get to everything in her first day there, so there has to be a decision to be made about it. she felt the forest calling her, but after the cruise ship breaking down, she didn't want to get lost and result in a panic in the island if anyone even noticed.

heading down the beach, she never really wanted to explore the town as much as visiting something on the beach. it seemed more interesting, so she went down the shore down nearby the cliff. it seemed to hold more than up shore did. something did catch her eye from, so hopefully, it didn't disappoint her. that was what she first chose to see in the island as it held the most interest for her.

the waves hit her paws as she ran down the beach. the location that she was heading to was in sight. sharkbait slowed her speed as she reached what she wanted to see. before her was the tide pools, she looked down on the polls, each holding a new possibilities in each pool. sharkbait absolutely couldn't wait to be able to explore it more in depth after the island exploration; however, before she knew it, an idea struck her. instead of exploring the island, how about just exploring the tide pools for the rest of the day? the idea really spoke to her and she abandoned all other plans and just decided to stick to the tide pools for the rest of the day. what was held in each one really made her want to explore each one, so from there until close to sunset, she waded throughout each pool interacting with the creatures with in them and seeing what was in each one.
