Aderyn jolted awake from her slumber when loud scraping noises and clamoring voices rose in the air. What the.. she thought to herself, grunting as she slowly rose to her feet. She pulled a large sweatshirt over her head, adjusting her delicate wings so they went through the gaping slits she’d cut in the back. Grunting softly, she headed out the door to her cabin, and towards the deck, where she found most of the kalons peering out onto the shore- it seemed they had stopped somewhere. However, it seemed there was something amiss. Something in the air gave Aderyn chills, abdthe shadows seemed unusually dark on the island, as if the sun had been covered by the clouds.. Now concerned, Aderyn turned to the kalon on her right, and stuttered, “Erm- do- do you know what’s going on?” She was an unusually shy kalon, and just speaking to a stranger had her heart fluttering rapidly. The stranger responded coolly, “I heard the motor broke down, and we ended up here. Seems pretty enough. I think gonna stay here untill they can find a mechanic. Just a longer vacation to me.” Worriedly, Aderyn nodded, and gently pushed her way towards the edge of the deck, through the masses of kalons. The stranger had said it ‘seems pretty enough,’ and Aderyn agreed, but she couldn’t shake the anxious feeling it gave her. They were stranded on a strange island- who know what types of kalons, or creatures, could be inhabiting it? She had expected a nice, relaxing vacation to get her away from all the stress of her family conflicts. Instead, she was now extremely stressed and anxious- just wonderful.
Her palms had begun to sweat, and the found herself taking deep, steadying breaths to keep herself from freaking out. Seeing a few seagulls soaring above, she steadied herself, focusing on the birds and taking deep, slow breaths, untill she’d calmed down. Watching lots and adults alike running around the shore, happy as can be, she began to calm down. Everything would be okay... right?

Prompt 1 :: Vacation Derailed

Cynthia is kind in an old spot on all of it. She is currently on the vacation cause of a friend who is letting her project through their own mind, while not being able to talk to all the guest, she is quite scared that she might get left behind. She is going to try and to keep calm and stay near the Kruise ship so she isn't left behind. It isn't all too bad thou, she's made some good friends of tiny animals on the island and is enjoying playing in the water around the ship.
Hopefully, it wouldn't take long to get the ship repaired, I mean, this was Thia's one time to be around others and out and about. Since she couldn't really be well, awake, being out and not just dream hopping was wonderful, to finally be out, still she didn't want to be on the island for long, being stranded on an island had been one of her fears as a kid and she just wanted to be home now.

Allison stared at the anchored ship. She stared long and hard. Finally, she heaved a massive sigh.
All she wanted was to get away from the stress of trying to become a rock star. The constant job searching, trying to catch the eye of a producer, and playing gigs, it was all exhausting. Since she and her brother Jackston didn’t have a whole load of money, this cruise was a lucky break for them, but of course… with such a low price, SOMETHING was bound to happen. They wouldn’t have done proper quality control with such a low budget, and she should've known. Allison sighed again, her eyes staring with resigned defeat. Oh well. At least the island they ended up on seemed fairly nice, it wasn’t too hot and not too cold either. She could probably enjoy the stay here, and relax a bit. Really, the only thing bothering her right now was…

“HEY SIS CHECK OUT THIS NEAT CRAB I FOUND!! LOOK!! IT’S BLUE AND CAN DANCE!!”

Allison flattened her ears against her head, an irritated scowl forming on her face. Jackston just had this amazing ability of getting on her every nerve, and today was no different. He was just so excited about EVERYTHING! Nevermind that they were STUCK on some remote island with probably no way of contacting their dads, there were CRABS to be looked at, TIDEPOOLS to explore, and an entire ISLAND to explore and discover!
Allison cringed at her brother falling on his face in the sand. Aah man… she’d have to at least TRY to enjoy herself best she could with Jackston along, she supposed.

She sighed, again. Oh boy.

Celeste lay on the beach, allowing her mind to wander as she watched the calm waves wash up on the shore. However, she was suddenly pushed back into reality by her twin yelling to no one in particular.

"... What if we get stuck here forever!? What about dad!? He's probably gonna worry sick about us! Oh god, what if he dies from worrying too much!? What if-"

"Ophelia!" Celeste interrupted, hopping up and grabbing her sister by the shoulders, pulling her so closely to her face that their noses touched, "Stop! Freaking! Out!"

"But what if-"

"No! No what ifs! We are on this island until they fix the ship and there's nothing we can do about it. The most you're gonna do by panicking is give yourself an anxiety attack and ruin your vacation. All we can do is accept our situation and relax! We're in a new, unfamiliar place! You know what we can do?"

Ophelia's blue eyes lit up as the realization hit her.

"Pranks?"

"And they don't know us, so they'll never even know what hit 'em."

Celeste let go of her sister, giving her an affirming nod before pulling out her map.

"Now, I think the whale watching place would be a great place to start. That Professor guy seems like he'd be fun to mess with!"

Kanae felt rather... unsurprised? It was even a little... funny in a weird way? They knew something was bound to go wrong... after all, their life usually went ''Oh that's surprisingly nice and relaxing!- Oh wait. There goes the nice and relaxing part of this day.'' - Kinda like one of those videogames where you find a weirdly nice place and then a threat of some sort comes and ruins everything. ''You need a break from reality!!'' - Their friend said. - ''C'mon!! You'll have fun going somewhere different!'' - They said... as if Kanae needed to go somewhere and take a break in the first place. But at the end they listened. And they looked for the first affordable cruise they saw.
Well... at least this island looks nice...! There's a forest after all, so Kanae will have something to do either way, right? And so many new people to meet, so many things to do, it surely won't be boring...
Hopefully nothing wrong is gonna happen from now on. Nothing else should go wrong from now on... Right??

Against the boiling rage filling up Cocoa’s body the water around Kalokairi Island was freezing, and did nothing but make him feel like a soggy ball of yarn.

Standing in the sand and trying to get dry, he felt even more like a soggy ball of yarn, but one with clothes sticking to it in all the wrong ways. Who puts clothes on a ball of yarn anyways? There goes that metaphor. Falling apart.

Speaking of falling apart... Look at that cruise. Mocking him. Its shadow loomed over him, and he wanted to punch it. The shadow or the cruise, he didn’t quite know which. All things considered, it was probably the cruise, because it was tangible, something that could be punched. And after that stunt it pulled? He’d argue the damn thing deserved it.

Oh, this’ll all be a great idea, Cocoa! You’ll loosen up, Cocoa! It’s a good deal, Cocoa! So long for great ideas, loosening up, and good deals, because he was two seconds from leaving a nice dent in that good deal.

That being said, he did want to preserve his fist until he found something or someone worth hitting.

So, he kicked the sand. He almost felt a little bad for the crab he didn’t see there, until it scuttled off (probably) unharmed.

And that netted him some looks. Great, now he had a good five people to choose from, all tangible things who were not shadows and he thought would look better with his fist in their face.

Cocoa’s eyes darted from person to person, until they settled on... someone. Someone with short blond hair and too many eyes and a look on his face that Cocoa couldn’t pin down a word for. He’d heard the guy’s name in passing, seen him somewhere on the cruise. Tanner? Talfryn? Tall-and-Thin? Didn’t matter. He knew that was the one he was gonna punch; just looking at the guy made that boiling rage get a good ten degrees hotter.

If looks could kill, the glare Cocoa gave would be about ten daggers flying at Blondie’s face.

“Hey, what the hell do you think you’re looking at over there? Anybody ever told you staring’s rude back in kindergarten?”

Cocoa didn’t wait for a response. Whatever was gonna come outta that smug mouth of Tanith’s (Tanith, that was the name) didn’t make it before Cocoa put all the rage he had into decking him with a mean right hook.

Yeah, he was right. The guy did look better with Cocoa’s fist in his face.

Cocoa took another long sip of whatever he got at the bar in that abysmal cruise. Truth be told, he didn’t know what it was, just asked the bartender to get him whatever he could make the quickest, and if he’d been told what it was, he didn’t remember the name.

It was actually pretty good. Fruity. Cold. Reminded him of maraschino cherries a little. And, to be honest, the temperature was nice on his hurting hands. Nice going down, too, in this sort of weather.

Right. Hands.

He’d cold-clocked Tanith, that bastard, after some rude comments about Cocoa’s short stature and over all... appearance. Hit a sensitive spot, really, so Cocoa hit one in return. Hadn’t even planned on going that far.

Either way, he’d ended up smashing someone else’s face after they looked at him funny too.

Cocoa picked up the call in record time because there was no way in hell he was gonna let anyone in this bar realize his ringtone was Bananaphone.

...Except, someone noticed. And they were laughing at him.

Rage boiled over again, and Cocoa had a feeling he was about to get kicked out of this bar again.

Honestly Juliette was pumped about it.
Sure she was a little spooked when everything started breaking down but...

She was ready for the adventure.

Walking along the dock to the island she scanned her surroundings with awe.
Sure this wasn't what she expected when she signed up for a kruise.
I'm sure no one expected to be stranded for a little while on a beautiful island.

"Could be worse" she said to herself.
"Could of been deserted."

But an island is an island.
As long as there was a beach to be relaxed on and food to be found, juliette didnt mind.
Of course other thoughts were swimming around her mind aswell...

See juliette was a huge romantic. And how romantically cliche was it to be stranded on a beautiful island with tons of strangers.
Sure, she was never too good when it came to actually talking to potential bachelors but imaging it and pretending is just as fun...right?

So off to the beach she went, confidently making her way onto Kalokairi island, ignoring all others who were on the dock. She had a goal in mind. Find the best spot on the beach and relax.
Perhaps daydream and let the wind and waves relax her.

But really she just wanted to be somewhere secluded, so if someone did happen upon her, well. Maybe romance would spark...but c'mon what are the odds of that right?

All in all juliette welcomed the unplanned stop. What adventures would she come across, what new friends would she meet along the way? Only time would tell, and time they had.

to put it simply, cara is annoyed. the cruise breaking down is just the thing to ruin her mood. she was taking some pictures, as always, when the cruise broke down and announced that they needed to dock at a nearby island. her first emotion was fear, which quickly changed to annoyance. her slight smile became a resting face full of anger, her eyebrows knitted downwards. she rolled her eyes and went to pick her things up from her room on the ship, making her way to the dock afterwards. with her camera around her neck, she took pictures of the island, which was beautiful, and not at all what she expected. at least they'd found an inhabited island to dock at. her annoyance and frustration quickly turned to awe. there was plenty of things to do there, and all the kalons seemed friendly. a smile flickered onto her face. all signs of earlier frustration were gone as she walked around. "maybe it won't be as bad as i thought"... she began to whisper to herself. she was no longer upset, but she still wanted to talk to the people who set up the cruise. maybe she didn't need to do that though. honestly, what did she expect from a discount cruise?
