venita flopped against the bed, her hair still damp from the pool water. ah, the sweet smell of chlorine. she'd get used to it by the end of the trip, she figured, but for now, she'd just have to deal with it. but what was a minor thing like that compared to being on a cruise?
her relaxation was interrupted by rudy throwing open the door, a sour look on his face. he swung his guitar case off his back and onto his bed, huffing about how he was told that he was 'causing a disturbance' and 'interrupting the atmosphere of the krab kruise' as he pulled his instrument out.
of course he'd come back when she wanted to take a nap. venita nearly forgot that she was rooming with rudy. a close friend of theirs had given them their tickets, insisting that they deserved a vacation, without mentioning that they were going to share close quarters. the two got along well, but rudy's loud tendencies and venita's need for sleep didn't always make for a perfect match. thank god palmer himself wasn't there (although he did say that he'd be joining them later. how could he be joining if they were going on a cruise...?), though. that would've been a squeeze.
ven's mind drifted back to the present. rudy was singing margaritaville to himself, strumming gently. at least he tried to be conscious of himself. noticing venita's stare, he grinned, bringing the volume up, and encouraging her to join in. she shook her head, breaking into a smile. this vacation was going to be fine.
"some people claim that there's a wo-ah, what the hell?"
rudy stood up after the ship stopped shaking. "dude... what was that?" venita shrugged. "well, uh, get your stuff together. we've gotta investigate." after pausing for a brief message over the pa system, the pair was out the door and out onto the main deck.
standing at the railing, they watched as the ship began to draw close to an island. ven glanced over to rudy, watching his eyes twinkle as he realized the situation: they were headed to this tiny, hidden paradise. she closed her eyes. it'd been three years since she'd been on an island. the kingdom was larger than this small village, but... it still reminded her of home.
"are you good?"
rudy put his hand on ven's shoulder. "people are starting to get off. we should check it out." he tried to keep his cool, but his voice rose with excitement. he could tell something was up with the usually adventurous girl- the last time they had an opportunity to explore, she didn't hesitate! this time, she merely stared at the island with a look of worry.
"r-right." she let out a breath of air she didn't know she was holding in. she forced a smile. "sorry. i have, um, bad memories with a place that looks somewhat like this. but i'm sure we'll be fine." he gave her a thumbs up, which she matched. "shall we go?"
and with an energetic stride from rudy, followed with a hesitant step from ven, they set foot onto kalokairi.

The glasses rattled, clanking on each other. Nemo glanced up from the dirty table he volunteered to wipe down for Brandy.

"Ignore it kid; it's just the current." Spoke Brandy, not even looking up from the cup he was drying with an old white-ish cloth. Nemo hesitated to say something but decided against it. He had already caused enough trouble down here. He felt so bad for what happened the other day with the rowdy cruise-goers so he volunteered to help Brandy clean up after the lunch rush. It wasn't so bad; it was just like his job as a waiter at home except Brandy had thick skin and could yeet anyone out of the bar.

Not even five minutes passed before the PA system over the whole ship blared out,

"Everyone needs to stay calm. There has been an engine problem and our crew is trying to fix it. For the time being please remain where you are until further instruction. There is an island up ahead that we will be docking at to fix the engine problem. Sorry for the inconvenience, but again everyone please stay calm." A crackle ended the speech. Brandy set down the glass with a heavy sigh.

"Of course this piece of junk breaks... C'mon kid lets go." He motioned for Nemo to follow him upstairs to the main deck. Nemo put the wet rag back in the small bucket that Brandy had given him earlier.

The two made it up to the main deck and everyone and their dog was rushing to get off the cruise ship. Turns out they had docked just moments before the two had come up to see what all the ruckus was about. Nemo took a good look at the island that laid before him. He shrugged. It wasn't on the water kind of vacation, but hey it was a vacation; something Nemo desperately needed. Nemo slipped into the crowd dying to get off the boat and onto the new island.

"Oooh boy, I really should've slept last night," Calluna sighed as she loaded her luggage into her cabin. Luna was just another broke college kid, living off of instant ramen & coffee. There was no way she would pass up an offer this good. She somehow managed to convince her friend Val to come along & make the room & board costs even lower, though Val complained about the boringness of cruise trips.

When night came, Calluna tossed & turned in her bed, unable to sleep due to the excitement. She daydreamed about nagging Val into taking photos of her, scavenging for seashells by the beach, drinking cocktails on the cruise, & satisfying her gambling addiction testing her luck at the casino. Calluna chuckled to herself, this is gonna be the best ever. A pillow suddenly flew out from the void & struck her on her face. "Shut up Luna," Val grumbled. "I'm trying to sleep. I have no time for your evil witch cackles."

... & that's how everything came to be. Luna slept for a whooping total of 3 hours & felt absolutely dead as she soullessly threw her luggage & flopped onto her bed. She no longer cared about the cruise. The bed... The pillows are as soft as clouds. I feel like I am drifting. This is heaven -
"LUNA I'M BORED ALREADY. THIS WAS A MISTAKE." Val's thunderous voice snapped Calluna out of her sleep.
"Quiet down Val, I'm trying to get some shut-eye. Today's been a long day."
"Seriously dude? The most you've done today is drag some luggage into the cabin & you're already wasted?"
Calluna mumbled some reply as she drifted off into that sweet, sweet, slumber.

BRRIIIIIIIINGGGGG, the emergency alarm rang. Chaos echoed through the hallways as the alarm urged passengers to exit the ship immediately. Calluna barely registered the noise. She raised a weak hand & motioned for everything to quiet down... Which obviously did not work.
"Come on guys, this isn't the Titanic, we're fine. Ugh, so loud," Luna grumbled as she wrapped a pillow around her head in an attempt to block out the noise. "Helllll yeah! Another adventure awaits!" Her headstrong roommate pumped a fist before grabbing her bat & joining the chaos outside. Seriously? Who allowed her to bring that bat along? Calluna didn't have it in her to exit or to care about the whole situation. Who cares? This bed is my home & if this ship sinks, I guess I will too. Oh well, it's been a good life.

Calluna felt like she had slept for a good 2 minutes before Val disrupted her again like the devil she was, "hey Luna! Thank you so much for bringing me along! You were soooo right, it is fun! This adrenaline is really kicking in," Val yelled into Luna's cabin as security was chasing after her.
"Whatever Val. Just... Shut the door please."
"Hey you! Are you that crazy girl's roommate?" A silky male voice emerged from the noise. Ah yes, this must be the Rapture & an angel is finally here to deliver my soul to the afterlife, Calluna thought to herself in the midst of her semi-consciousness.
"Are you security? Or an angel... I don't care... I'm not... Responsible for her... I'm tired... Leave me alone," Calluna answered without opening her eyes.
"Name's Anthony. Heard there was a sleeping passenger on board & I volunteered to check on you. You're not sick or anything, right?"
"Sick... Yeah sick of all this noise."
"Hmmmm, Calluna Ying Yue, yes? Under your documents, I see that under 'Emergency Contacts' you wrote 'if anything happens, just let me die' is that correct?"
"Hnnnnnnng, huh yeah. Just let me... zzzz..."
"Looks like I have no other choice but to drag you out. Sorry about this, I hope you don't hate me for this."

prompt one: how does teddy feel about the crash?

teddy, while unlike quite a few other of the standard kalons quite enjoyed the crashed ship.
it gave him a chance to explore the island that normally wasn't a stop for the kruise ship.
he gathered everything in his light pink colored backpack and pulled his light pink polaroid
camera out, in a pink case, and put the case's strap around his neck. he was already prepared
to go out on an adventure and explore all of the wildlife, and of course, take plenty of
pictures. he already had a scrapbook full of pictures he had taken awhile onboard of the
kruise ship. he was excited to say the least, smiling wide and bouncing to explore. teddy
was secretly thankful that the ship had crashed, thankful for the opportunity to enjoy the
sandy beach and calming ocean. teddy had always been told he was born to enjoy the sea,
always believing it even. he found the ocean to be something so fascinating and a place he
could enjoy when he was down. the gentle sea breeze and sand in his toes was something he
could never not enjoy. he pushed his heart-shaped pink sunglasses up onto his forehead and
sped off from the beach, his polaroid camera at the ready.

Casimir could hear the "I told you so"s already. Kallam had told him it a cruise was pointless, though Cas had chalked that up to it just being Kallam's way of saying 'I'll miss you'. Cas himself was a sailor, had his own little 12ft sunfish docked rather suspiciously close to the underground market where he sold illegal goods. (That's a different story, and not one you need to know about anyway. What are you, a cop?)

Casimir wasn't even bothered with the whole 'oh no we're stuck on this random island for a bit because our boat literally broke down' he was more concerned with the fact that he was going to have to contact his 'business partner' (they're married uwu) and have to explain why he was going to be late coming back home. "I'll have to ask him to feed Ganymede" Casimir mused to himself, thinking about his cat. He knew Kallam would without being asked, but he also knew Kallam would remind him of it for the rest of his life. 'I fed (y)our cat while you were stranded. Thanks for not dying, I guess'

Casimir sat on the beach, grin on his lips and mojito in his hand (He'd somehow gotten one from the bar before they broke down). As long as he was stranded, Kallam couldn't say 'I told you so'. It was Schrodingers Cruise, in a way. He was simulatenously in trouble while also having the time of his life. Depending on how fast they got back to the waves, Kallam wouldn't even have to know...
