Aiden stared angrily at his hands. His grip on the drink getting tighter and tighter. What kind of person came into a bar, walked over the jukebox, and selected a sad song of all the choices? On a vacation cruise, at that! This was supposed to be a fun getaway, not a time to think about sad tales and dusty memories.

Aiden made up his mind as a tear or two rolled down his face. He stood, swaying just a bit. Maybe it was his sea legs, or maybe it was one too many 'lemon waters', but the anger at crying over a stupid song on the jukebox had him boiling over. Aiden, however, never made it to the jukebox. The world spun and so did he, and the fist meant for the offending music machine was sent straight into a stranger's shoulder, knocking their drink across their face and lap.

It wasn't really his fault, in a way. The stranger wasn't about to hear Aiden's story though. He hadn't meant to start a fight, but he sure as hell was going to finish it.
(And maybe then he'd be able to put on some good tunes.)

what are they mad about?:
Ding Ding Ding! the slot machines whirled with the joyous sounds of childhood bells and whistles, as if begging and beckoning for someone to fall victim to the wicked game. Crowds cheer around different tables of Poker, Texas Holden, And Blackjack. The Roulette ball clicked against its wheel as it spun round and round, landing on a number causing mixed expressions.

”Deal me in.” Francisco barked softly, placing his cruise’s ‘Sea Pass’ and $80 on the table. The dealer, a quiet brown and white canine swiped the pass and handed him the chips, dealing cards afterwards. Five more animals joined Francisco at the Poker table before the Dealer announced, ”Alright, let us begin.” The Dealer dealt cards and placed them in a row face down so nobody, not even himself, could see the card’s values. The first card was then flipped over.... a Two of Spades. Francisco furrowed his brow and checked his cards- nothing. He picked up a rack of ten chips and tossed them into the Bet pile. The second and third cards flipped- a Nine of Clubs and an Ace of Diamonds. Francisco growled softly and tossed his cards into the center, ”I Fold...” He rose from his seat and moved to the Roulette table.

• Francisco sighed as he sat down at the Roulette table, eyeing his competition’s stack of chips. He placed a crisp $100 bill and his ‘Sea Pass’ on the table. The employee behind the table swiped his card and handed him a bunch of chips. ”Good luck, sir!” The Silver fox said to Francisco with a small smile. She picked up the white glass ball and waited for everyone to place their guesses and bets. Francisco piled his chips onto the table before the fox launched the ball into the wheel. He watched it spin and spin and spin until it was, finally, losing momentum. The glass ball started bouncing and clacking against the rim slots of the numbers. He felt beads of sweat run down his forehead and cheeks as the ball came to a steady stop. ”Red, 35” The Silver Fox chirped before collecting the chips not on the red 35 square. Francisco sighed heavily and placed another bet, and another and another, all followed by him losing money faster than he was winning it back. After about 45 minutes at the Roulette table, he was wiped clean of his money. He grumbled something under his breath and stormed away from the table.

•After losing almost $200 at the Casino Royale, Francisco stormed into the bar and ordered a drink. ”Tequila Sunrise, please sir.” He growled to the bartender, running his paws through his fur, clearly frustrated and angry. ”Coming right up sir....” The bartender barked softly, ”Rough night, I presume?” The bartender started a little friendly banter as he fixed Francisco’s drink. As the bartender handed him the drink, Francisco growled, ”Just blew almost $200 at the Casino for nothing. I won absolutely nothing. Lost it all!” He downed his Tequila Sunrise and patted the table, signaling for another one to be made. Obediently, the bartender fixed him another drink and winded at his words. ”Yikes! You, my friend, are definitely having a rough night!, he huffed softly, handing the Kalon his drink. He started to clean some glasses that were cloudy and dirty, frequently stopping to fix Francisco more and more drinks.

• Five drinks later, the bartender approached Francisco and whimpered, ”Sir.... I’m afraid I cannot serve you anymore drinks tonight. You need to have some water or go to your room. I am very sorry sir.” Francisco drunkingly slammed his fist on the bar table and snarled, ”You have NO RIGHT to deny me a drink!!! Do you know what I’ve been through tonight?! I just lost $200!!!! I DESERVE THIS!!! Now GIVE ME a drink!!!” He bared his fangs at the bartender and extended an arm. The bartender jumped at Francisco’s rage and backed up to the wall. ”I-I’m Sorry s-sir.... I-I can-n-not serves you a-anym-more drinks t-t-tonight..... p-please do c-c-come back to-tomorrow.....” he stuttered softly at the angry drunk male. Francisco picked up his glass and pelted it across the bar table at the bartender. With a shrill yelp, the bartender ducked his head under the table and pressed the red emergency button underneath. Within seconds, the bar’s manager appeared in the bar followed by two security officers. ”Sir, I’m going to have to ask you to please leave this bar immediately. My friends here will escort you back to your room to ensure you and your fellow passengers safety. Please, do have a good rest of your night.” He said sternly to Francisco before having the large rhino officers escort the Kalon back to him room. The manager trudged over to the employee and asked about what happened just now. The bartender was clearly shaken up and on the verge of tears. The manager, without hearing what had happened, sent the employee to his cabin so he can calm down and relax after the situation.

So many things. Oh, so many things.

Everything had gone wrong, absolutely nothing had gone right. Everything was just a massive tangle of unpleasant messes that made her head spin painfully. How was it even possible that so much had gone wrong in such short a time? The universe shouldn't allow that, it could make one's head explode and heartbreak if it became to much. Thankfully, this wasn't anything she couldn't handle, but gods, so much had gone wrong, and it all had happened much too quickly for her to properly process any of it.

First she had some how ended up in this strange land she had never once seen before with odd clothes and items worn upon everyone, and to top that off, she wasn't even able to use her magic, and no one here seemed to have any care or mind to the plants and nature around them, or any of the creatures. Was it so hard to pick up litter and unwanted things from the ground so they did not find their way to the poor creatures of the sea or the plants digging their roots into the earth? Did they even do any sort, or form of water conservation upon this ship? Even if they weren't presently on land, and instead on what she knew to be a ship; the importance to it was still very there. If it was light enough, it could be carried away on the wind, or blown into the sea before someone who's job it was to clean it could get to it, and end up wrapped around some poor sea creature's neck, or the foot of a bird who stopped by curiously to peak and peer and prod at it on the deck. How could other kalons so easily disregard that and put the creatures they claimed to love so very much at such risk? She knew all to well how fire could destroy a land, but she also knew how easily filth could too destroy an earth.
She liked to think of herself as a calm person, someone rather joyous and carefree who wasn't aggressive or confrontational in the slightest, she really, truly did, but this time, on this hour of this day, she had just had enough, and she had quite and very regrettably snapped. This was a situation she could stay calm in no longer, especially after drinking so much in the one place that seemed at least vaguely similar enough to a place in the world she new in hopes to quell her anger and find some comfort in familiarity. Unfortunately, it had not helped at all, and it had been completely the wrong kind of drink, and all she felt was her senses being far too alive, the colors being far too vivid, vibrant, and bright, and a miriad of other things as her whole body came alive and felt like it was buring, and her senses all felt as if they were about to burst like the bubbles at the surface of lava slowly flowing through ancient crevices and cracks long since carved into the earth near the volcanoes she called home by paths they had taken so many times before. She wished she could have helped it, but everything had just bubbled up like the volcanoes of her home and she could no longer contain herself, if she even was still herself, which was something she wasn't fully certain of after the way she had blown up.

All she had needed was a simple, little break, a moment of peace and quiet to herself to process and collect and regroup, and she still did truthfully, but no one was giving that to her here, and that is how, and why she found herself getting into several fights, a few more physical than she would ever like to admit, but would have to, because she had made a pact to always be honest with herself, even if she could not be with anyone else.
Was it too much to ask for everyone to leave her alone for just a few moments to allow her to gather her thoughts, or was there some sort of sign placed upon her back against her knowledge screaming "TALK TO ME"? Did people have no sense anymore of when one wanted to be left alone, or had they simply forgotten that was a thing to exist within their evolution as time had passed? Were her signals not obvious enough in showing she wanted to be alone? No, it wasn't her fault, it was their's; she was responsible for no one's actions but her own, and her own had been exceptionally poor in judgement and taste since she had arrived in this very strange, utterly baffling place. At least she hadn't snapped at the poor young kit with fur that reminded her of white sands and purple sunsets at a beach who had asked her for directions- something she could tell even in her present upset and irritated stupor that had taken a lot, and more than a little shoving down of her pride- to the pool. The next person however, hadn't at all been so lucky. Hapuna didn't even know what he wanted; she had never gotten to that point, all she had let him do was tap on her shoulder to gain her attention and she had leapt back and roared at him, tripping over some stools and accidentally falling into two kalons chatting at the bar, who were none too pleased to see this strange, brightly colored girl crash into them. Normally she would have apologized profusely immediately, but her fuse had been gone, and when they asked for a fight, she obliged. That was when and how it had gotten physical, and then the bartender- Brandy she believed his name was- gave her a warning, a final one, before she was thrown out, if she did that again. That didn't change her snaps at others though, or her growls and verbal fights with other testy individuals that had found her attitude to be unpleasant and a personal offense to them. It seemed to stir up some other disagreements around the ship's tavern, or whatever it was called here, but she hadn't noticed that until she had calmed. She had been to fired up, to blinded by her rage and everything that swarmed her and her senses that were still all so very vivid and intense and bright that threatened to blind her if they grew any more vibrant, to notice anything but the newfound adrenaline pouring through her, and the fights and arguments she found herself in. Eventually she had managed to calm herself down, but not at a cost. The blood in her veins had cooled to mellow ice from it's raging inferno blaze, but now her mind was filled with nothing but shame, and she felt utterly cross with herself, which still had her snapping at any other poor sod that tried to connect with her.

Hopefully there would be some way to make up for it all when she had a handle on herself again, and wasn't going to pounce on the next poor miserable soul that offered to by her a drink because she looked down, and in their words; "very in need of one, you look like a wilted flower that's just been sat on by a gull."

At least she wasn't bothered by the heat, that was something she was much too used to ever be bothered by now, and honestly, the air here felt like a cool, refreshing summer breeze that carried fresh, sea-salted air and a faint spray of the ocean upon it.

Or the drinks, they weren't at all what she wanted but she couldn't deny they were pretty tasty. Brandy certainly knew how to do his job perfectly, she had to give him that.

what are they mad about?: Winnie is only mad at herself- after having one too many to drink, Winnie becomes a bit loose in the grip and often drops her glasses. Other kalons don't realize that Winnie is only making a ruckus because she doesn't want them to step on the glass by her paws.

Her slurring is what some would compare to animals trying to talk- it's hardly recognizable- so when Winnie tries to warn the other vacationers about the glass, it just comes out as broken pieces of words. Whenever this happens, things often go bad very soon. Others think that Winnie is trying to provoke them (as they are also usually quite drunk) and quickly start a fight.

All Winnie wants is for the other kalons not to step on her glass' remains; if only her alcohol tolerance was higher...

The worst part of it all is that Winnie remembers absolutely nothing when she wakes up. No bits or shards of last nights' whereabouts and to top it all off, her hangovers are excruciating. How could a kalon be this unlucky?

      what are they mad about?:
of course, we all love the ocean. we like to keep it healthy so we can keep exploring this beauty forever! and we all want to take best care of the environment.
but some of the vacationers are ignorant and stupid.

phoenix always cared about the ocean. he knows well that the ocean is not a dumping ground. things will just sink and go deep, but it won’t be gone. so no cans, no glass, no cigarette butts and no paper should go overboard - and definitely no plastic. those thing don’t decompose quickly in water (it may take hundreds of years for some of them!), so it will be toxic for ocean's health - and yours as well. after all if you wouldn’t eat it or rub it in your skin, why should the living organisms in the sea have to deal with it?

but today, on the first cruise day, something happened.
phoenix enjoyed the view from the upper deck along with several other vacationers when one of them spat out his chewing gum over board into the ocean and disappeared in a crowd.

when phoenix finally found them, it was evening. everything happened in the bar.
phoenix wanted to politely explain why you shouldn't throw any waste into the ocean. he wanted to explain that chewing gum is an oil based synthetic polymer, so it's a plastic, similar to a car tyre, can you believe? these products are not broken down by the natural processes that exist in the environment, those rubbers last for hundred of years!
but it seemed that the other kalon was not in the mood for talk... and somehow, phoenix got into a fight.
despite his fiery appearance, phoenix prefers to solve problems with a word and not a fight, but today circumstances were not in his favor.

yes, it was a fight over a chewing gum spat out into the ocean, but you know what? it was worth it.

    what are they mad about?:

The atmosphere in the room was chaotic; liquor had made these people rowdy and the echo of jolly midnight tunes reverberated in the bar. She slams her drink down, a swirling mess of translucent liquid. When she turns to the bartender almost lazily, he can see that her eyes are fierce. She scowls at him. Clair has always had good manners since she was a child, but the surprisingly vulgar zest of the beverage and the boisterous commotion of the bar had given her a migraine. The strange thing about liquor is that it gives even the softest of us courage to make interesting choices.. Glaring daggers at the poor man, she finally snapped at the barkeep,

"What is this? I asked for a clearly different, more presentable drink... and you gave me this? It taste of loneliness and misery. Did you cry into this cup to make it? Is that it? This is just a mess! No, this is Lavender and Orange Blossom tonic isn’t it."

The barkeep just huffed unhappily, puffs of neon floating from his face. Unmoved, a stone idol, he leaned forward in irritation, and glanced at her drink.

"Ma'am. You asked for a non-alcoholic drink, and this is the only 'presentable' beverage that I can give you. I'm afraid there aren't many ingredients," he gestured despondently to the limited variety of liquors on the shelf, "to choose from on a cruise ship.

Clair felt hot, like the heat from her stomach was escaping through her head- her words trailed along too fast for her mind to catch and they tasted like molten magma upon her tongue. “I asked for an Elderflower pressé and Apple juice mocktail.” She crinkled her smooth face and snapped her gaze away. “Not this disgrace of a drink. Elderflower is exotic and fruity, but this drink you’ve given me is inanely strong and tastes like old man medicine..” Clair crossed her arms and fixed her glare back at the bartender, her eyes full of fire and packing a fight. The bartender just sighed, again puffing clouds of brilliant blue.

what are they mad about?: (50 words min.)
Well, he’s a boy named Sue, first of all. Fights were his way to become strong and stop bullies when he was younger, and a bit of that transferred to his adult life... but not so much. Sue is not nearly so insecure now- in fact, he is incredibly happy with who he is, and accepts himself with all of his wonderful qualities, as well as his faults. One of them just happens to be that, quite frankly, he enjoys a good fight. He is incredibly confident and strong, and likes nothing better than a brawl in good spirits. In most cases, he’s not even angry! But, should you poke fun of his name, or make fun of one of his friends... well, mad isn’t quite the right word. It’s more like rage. And judging from the fact that he threw someone at a wall, it seems like this time someone must’ve tried to bully his friend.

"..what do you even mean?? I told you that already! Lemons are bad citruses and orange is the best!"

Seki was ready to walk up and stop the man shouting across the bar, but that's not the line she expected. He seemed quite out of it, and was wildly waving his arms and banging a table he shared with a newer patron, smirking as they were clearly ready to continue this Bright Kalon's rant.
The Bright Kalon in question seemed to already have taken on two other patrons, sitting in the corner tired from whatever they started.
Seki listened as the two continued, waiting to step in.

"Yea, but what did the bartender offer you at first and everyone else?"
"That has NO PURPOSE IN YOUR-"
"Admit it, lemons are clearly the superior-"
"LEMONS WERE BRED AND ARE AS FAKE AS YOUR PERSONALITY!"
    "Dude, take that BACK!"
"Awe did someone hurt your feelings? You sowwie??"
    "I'm goNNA RI-"
    "Enough."

Both Kalons turned to the new voice of Seki. She had both of her sets of paws crossed over her chest. The amount of arms must have intimidated at least the smaller Kalon, making them run away as soon as possible. Seki turned to the brighter patron.
"The bartender asked me to remove you from the bar, would you like me to carry you out or can you walk by yourself?"
He seemed to ponder the question as if he was taking a test, but soon shook his head to say yes.
"Ye-yea! I can walk! No need for someone to carry me. Although, can you, maybe, at least walk me out? I'm getting back into it, I guess, and I feel sore.."
    "Sure."

    "Can I get-"
    "Nope! Straight to your room!"

"Thanks. Uhh, please tell the others sorry, straight from Oshinko."
"Noted, and here's an it's ok from Seki. See ya later Orange Boy!"

    "..bye!"

what are they mad about?:

Theo knew she was making a scene.

She could feel the eyes burning into her fur, the way the glowing fog machine of a bartender was getting ready to kick her out. That was fine, but she was not leaving this alone.
“She doesn’t want to spend any time with you. You don’t even know her, leave her alone.”
A small comment had, well, escalated, in the simplest terms possible. Theo could feel the hissing frustration growing in her throat as she yelled. She has been having a great evening beforehand! A fruity drink, ocean air. But she had to stick her nose in.
Theo watched as the bartender spoke to a purple, blue, and white-ish kalon out of the corner of her eyes, and the way they looked at her. The bartender was recruiting help to deal with her fiery temper.
Theo took a deep breath, charm and deceit of a mystic blood slowing, yet still bubbling just beneath the surface- it wouldn’t take much to set her off truly.
Almost feeling sparks dancing from her tongue, Theo let out a bit of a growl before stalking off, nearly starting more fights along the way, several leading to short-lived arguments.
Such is the way of a trickster, is it not?
