what are they mad about?:
venita agreed to the bartender's task immediately. keeping the peace was something she considered herself good at, so how hard could it be?
she found herself drawn to one particularly... riled up corner of the bar, listening in to the cacophony of sounds and faces. the source of the problem made itself clear: a girl stood sulking in the corner, making remarks to parties around her, becoming more red as they scoffed at her. venita couldn't make out what was being said, but what she knew for sure was that this girl was causing trouble.
the sulking woman's face turned sour, and with no prompting, slammed her fist against the wall. she quickly turned to the young couple next to her, and began to yell.
"i'll even pay you extra, dammit! i need something to drink!" she continued to scream at the pair, their eyes growing wide. this was not a good situation. venita pushed herself through the crowded room, only stopping after putting a firm hand down on the girl's shoulder.
she didn't seem to expect her, and raised an eyebrow at the calm, taller kalon. venita could only smile back. "come on, sweetheart. let's have a little chat."
after talking for a while, the problem made itself clear. mindy, the troublemaking bar-goer, was able to let her flame burn out as venita listened to her predicament.
when initially going down to the bar, mindy ended up locking her keys in her room, and while she brought her wallet, her id must have slipped out. although she was well over the legal age, her tiny stature (4 feet and 8 inches of rage) combined with a baby face made it hard for anyone to believe she was old enough for the tequila she tried to order. including brandy. without the sweet relief of a drink, her anger about her room only continued to build, and apparently, mindy thought that the best way to solve the issue would be to pester the other customers in the bar to take her money to the counter and order for her.
mindy was still frustrated as she ranted, but ultimately cooled down quite a bit. ven was sympathetic to her misery, but merely shook her head when the girl looked up to her for support. "have you considered going to the front desk?"
the short girl's face burned red, but not in the same way as before. "i-i didn't think of it..."
after receiving a new key from the reception, and letting mindy grab her id from her room, the two made their way back to the bar. hopefully, being able to buy herself a drink, now, she'd keep her fists and her mouth to herself.
