0000Name: Tuna
0000Gender: boy
0000Beach story:The sun was hot, and the air was dry. It was summer time, and they were experiencing a pretty intense heatwave. Tuna was wandering sluggishly though the tall brush of the plains, head low to the ground, curiously sniffing for something good to eat.
A large storm had separated him from his flock, and his near-sightedness was making foraging difficult, so it had been a few hours since his last meal. He wasn't quite desperate for food, but he definitely wouldn't turn up a good snack right now.
As he made his way further into the prairie, something caught his attention. Among the sound of dirt shifting under his feet, and crickets singing along the tree line, the sound of running water could be heard somewhere in the horizon.
It didn't sound like a river, though. This water wasn't constantly rushing, it sounded like it was coming in... waves? His head perked up higher out of curiosity, and moved his head around, trying to pinpoint the sound. A river that only rushed in waves, the thought of it was too interesting to pass up!
His pace raised to a trot, and followed the noise as best as he could, dodging through the brush with a newfound sense of determination. With the smell of salt soon grabbing his senses, he knew that he was getting close to something. He kept his head high to sniff out the air, and raised his pace further. He was getting close to something special, and he knew it!
With his head raised in the air, though, he didn't notice the large branch he was about to trip over.
He stumbled and fell down a steep hill, and found himself crashing into what felt like fine-grained gravel. He lifted himself off the ground, shook off, and looked up. He was greeted with the biggest, widest river he had ever seen! It looked like it stretched on forever!
Curiosity took over, and he slowly made his way over to the shore, the sand moving under his feet, and the cool spray of the ocean dotting his face. He came to the waters edge, and leaned in to sniff it, but it hurriedly moved away from him. He tilted his head, and attempted to move in once again, but the water seemed to take the defensive, and moved in for an attack! He darted backwards onto the sand, and decided to explore something else for now.
He spent the afternoon exploring tidepools, digging up shells (he amassed quite the collection), and simply wandering across the shore. He stopped to rest atop a large rock, just relaxing, and letting the cool breeze wash over him, and before he knew it, the sun was going down. As he was already quite lost, he decided to stay there for the night, finding a nice bush near the edge of the beach to sleep under.
He watched the sun droop over the horizon, yawned, and decided that maybe staying here for a few more days wouldn't be so bad. He curled up into a little dino-ball, and let the sound of the ocean lull him to sleep. Yeah, staying here and exploring a bit more wouldn't be so bad. He would have such a wonderful story for his friends when he got back!
