Ember and Andy's greatest adventure!
We could talk about the time they discovered a watery rainbow crystal cave, or the time they found a beast in the night but turned out to be just their uncle Simon, or about the time they snuck the cookies past grandma.
But I'll tell you about their greatest adventure yet,
The adventure of the last cake pop!
Ember's eyes widened when she felt a disturbance; she knew something was wrong. "But what was it"? She wondered.
She got up from her bed and woke up her brother Andy. "Huh, wa-what is it?" He said, blinking sleepily. "Something is wrong and we have to go find out what it is."
She quietly walked downstairs with Andy groggily following close behind.
"Look." Ember pointed towards the kitchen. It was uncle Simon eating a couple of cake pops. As he left the kitchen, Ember's eyes widened: there was only one cake pop left in the jar.
The siblings looked at each other unsure of who would get the last pop.
They pondered who would get it for awhile before they had an idea: they'd ask uncle Simon who should get it.
"Uncle Simoooon~!" Ember excitedly called as she and Andy hopped over to him. "Which one of us should get the last cake pop?" Andy asked. Simon looked
at the kids with stars in their eyes and grinned, "How about whoever finds the most sparkly thing." Their eyes sparkled with excitement. Yes, this is the perfect idea.
After breakfast the two siblings set out on each of their own adventures in search for a sparkly thing.
They promised to wait for the other before showing their find to uncle Simon, to be fair 'n square.
Ember leapt and bound around the forest in search of her sparkly thing. She laid down in the grass and thought about what might she find that could win her the cake pop. As she was thinking, a flock of geese flew over and caught her attention, "Yes! I'll get a feather-scale from a Dragoose!" She exclaimed.
She ran off into the direction of the caves where Drageese tend to be.
She searched high and low for the right tunnel that would lead her to a nest, but to no prevail.
She then heard a sound, the sound of a... a dragoose! She snuck through the tunnel, keeping quiet. Then, there she saw was a Dragoose perched on top of hoard of stolen spoons. The only problem that stood in her way of getting a feather from the beast was a small ditch inbetween her and it.
She stepped back and readied herself to jump over the pit. She charged and leapt but she underestimated the length of the ditch and fell right in.
A little bruised and dazed she got to her feet and looked for a way out.
Luckily, at the bottom of the pit was a tunnel that lead back up to where she was.
She looked at the Dragoose dead in the eye: this time, she was gonna make it.
She charged and thrust herself over, but fell once again.
Over and over she tried whilst the Dragoose just sat their on it's pile of spoons watching this poor child throw herself into a pit over and over again.
Tired, but still determined, she dusted off the dirt on her arms and stepped further back than she had and gave herself a longer runway.
Feeling her heart pound, she stood still. Then she ran; she ran faster and faster, but this time she waited till the last moment to jump.
She did it! She landed and rolled right into the pile of spoons, scaring the Dragoose away and leaving a fresh sparkly feather.
Her eyes sparkled as she marveled at the feather. This was going to definitely win her the last cake pop.
Just as she was about to leave with the feather she realized that she hadn't a way to get back across. It was either jump back into the pit or... there was no or, she had to jump back into the pit.
Tired and dirty, she looked down into the pit to see if there was a way she could climb down, but just as she was about to, the Dragoose came back and pushed her in.
"Ouch!" She exclaimed. She swung her head around to see the Dragoose looking down at her with its walleyes.
She shook off the dirt and stuck her tongue out at the wall-eyed lizard bird.
She grabbed the feather and made her way out of the cave.
Ember ran through the forest so excited with the feather in her mouth.
When she approached the house she could see Andy waiting.
She slowed down to a screeching halt.
"Why are you so filthy?" Andie asked perplexed. "I got this!" Ember held out her paw to show him.
He was amazed by her find, then he showed her his gem berries, "Ooh, you found gem berries?" She reached out her paw to take one but then Andy slapped her paw away. "Don't touch. These are my sparkly thing."
The two went inside excited to show uncle Simon their finds, but to their surprise, there was uncle Simon eating the last cake pop.
They were horrified at the sight before them; how could he? Why would he?
Then Grandma came into the living room with a loving smile, "Don't worry kids, I made plenty more fresh cake pops."
Ember and Andy looked at each other with such relief.
After putting away their sparkly things, they rushed to the kitchen with delight. The two enjoyed their cake pops and excitedly shared with each other their amazing adventures.
