The Tribe of Rotting Forests


"Life -- and death -- is often ugly. Raw. Undesirable. And yet, it still exists, in whichever form it chooses to take on."


Not many Mahu in their right minds would say they would be fond of living in a place as intense as the Deathglades. The realm is home to the Rotting Forest Tribe; a mystical tribe long told to be led by Althyria, Goddess of Life. Althyria's cardinal truths are related to the ugly and beautiful truths of life. Life is a magical thing, and death, mysterious. Both are inevitably tied to one another. Things die, and from their carcass, new life is brought forth. The raw, ugly truth of life is something Althyria calls all Mahu to face.

Althyria is said to don the skull of a deer upon her head, with massive antlers so large, you would think they weighed her down. She bears no eyes, and the shadows within the eyes of her skull are said to be dark enough to drive a Mahu insane, should one look within. She dons the bones of prey sacrificed for food, and from her body, new plantlife is born. It is said that every pawstep she takes simultaneously fells a tree and plants a new one in it's place. It is also said that, if she appears to you in a dream, sudden death or sudden new life is approaching your Mahu or your Mahu's loved ones.

Followers of Althyria's teachings need to be strong-willed, and willing to stomach the harsh truths about life. It is only by acknowledging that which we do not want to, do we truly earn the right to appreciate the true beauty of life.

to dedicate one's life path in the name of althyria, is to dedicate one's life to the true appreciation and celebration of life. your mahu will face many challenges in the path towards earning althyria's blessing. however hard it may be, even harder would be to turn your back to the truths that she promises to teach. to earn one's spot in the deathglades, one must be willing to endure whatever the goddess tasks you with.
