Aya was never a normal child. They were always different, even before she revealed her tail. But despite having around zero friends, Aya was never lonely. You see, she was born with a strange anomaly. Her tail was a snake. Surprising? That's how her friends reacted. As a younger child, she hid her tail under jackets and jumpers. But Aya grew older and so she began to accept their tail. They named them 'Neon' because of their love for bright colours. She became friends with her tail, and wore clothes that showed it of rather than concealing it. This naturally freaked many other children out, and Aya ended up without many friends. She now spends her days in the lush gardens of the empire. They and Neon enjoy climbing through the thick canopies and undergrowth of the gardens. She adores swinging on ropy vines and tumbling into the multiple rivers and lakes. But her favourite place of all was behind a waterfall. They love to slip through the water, letting it drizzle over her tail and slick fur. Inside the following cave, they relax on the huge beds of soft moss and rest. The water splashing down sooths her, and she spends days there. They eat fish from the river and Neon snacks on bugs and bees which flit around the cave and riverbank.



Aya's favourite food is sushi, rice with sashimi and avacado. She sometimes goes by the nickname 'Avacado', although they only have one friend- Elton. She and Elton are surprisingly close, despite their very contrasting attitudes. She is very calm and patient, rather solitary. They are quite a loner and can seem somewhat stiff when you first meet her. But she's pretty kind, and cheerful as well as being massively optimistic. They're very sweet and have a voice that could melt butter. She's quite innocent, not wanting to play up or get angry. Not that there's many people she could get angry with. They also love her friends, Neon and Elton, although they definitely don't get along. Neon has some kind of idea that Elton is trying to steal their prey, and can dart at him. Elton tries to be gentle with them, and puts up with it, but Aya will snap at her snake. She can be jittery and nervous, and is also very clumsy. They can be rather standoffish as an attempt to scare of her so-called enemies.

Miranda's armbands were a surprising find. She'd been browsing charity shops, a classic hobby of hers, and ended up searching for earrings for her best friend Mika. Mika loves shiny things, so when Miranda saw something small, yellow and fabric she passed it straight by. Sifting through them, she found a silver bangle engraved with love me like I love you. Picking it up, she brought up the stockings with it. And so she found her newest treasured possession. It was only 99p and now she's had them for about two and a half years. She knows every one of their ladders, holes, stains and their story.

Miranda was always a music enthusiast. She loves to play violin, and dreams of having her own orchestra someday. Her boyfriend Mika plays piano and the two of them spend days practising together. They also collect glass together, and her favourite piece is this piece which Mika found in yet another charity shop and bought her for her birthday. She loves how it appears to have Jupiter inside it, and she named her favourite red teddy Jupiter when she was younger. It's her favourite planet of all. Her favourite food are rainbow marshmallows. She loves rainbows and the colour spectrum as well, and tries to replicate its beauty in her music. Her favourite clothes are bright ones, silver and sparkly! Her relationship with Mika is very close, and they spend a lot of time together. At school, they spend half their free time in the music room and the rest in the library reading books about music and art, or just doodling together. She has a pet cricket, Pelly, whom she takes around with her most of the time. Pelly has attracted some attention, and Miranda being rather introverted, she dislikes it. But Mika is always perfectly sensible about them.

Miranda is rather pedantic and fussy, preferring to learn things on her own rather than being taught them. That is, of course, why she flexi-schools along with Mika to study her more difficult subjects. She struggles with average conversation, and can take five minutes or so to reply. She loves to read and write though, her third favourite lesson being English- her favourites are music and art. Mika and her also enjoy spraypainting huge boards and canvases with crazy neon designs, Miranda specially likes doing space-like designs. Her favourite one she's made is a wall, which she stuck masking tape shapes of stars, moons, and planets on, and sprayed splashes of dark blue and purple colours all over it before peeling it off. She showed it to Mika and he applauded.

Portal is a puzzle-platform video game developed and published by Valve Corporation. It was released in a bundle package called The Orange Box for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2007. The game has since been ported to other systems, including OS X, Linux, and Android.


This is Edie's favourite game. They find it surprisingly sinister, but they love that. They have dreams about hopping in and out of portals. They love how they glow, as well.

Edie's best friend is a twig. They set it on the table every time they play video games, and let's it watch the tv. They tuck it up in a matchbox with her handkerchief and pretend to share her ice lollies with it. They really love those lollies- the sweet and sour toppings contrasting with the crisp cold lolly. Every summer day they have one, rationing them carefully so each packet can last a week or more. Their favourite animal is a stick insect, which is basically what she pretends her twig is. Their room is plastered with nature and video game posters. Edie's bed cover is a mountainous forest topped with snow, all in black and white apart from the form of a red fox flitting throughout the trees. They have a red fox toy, filled with rice, which her grandmother made for her when they turned three.
