Prompt: rykas are known to have sensitive eyes, but gaige's are extremely so. as a child he hid in the shadows, and when forced to be out in the light, kept his head tucked under his wing. flying was difficult to learn with the sun and moon light in his eyes, and led to many crash-landings, leading to his tail being crooked after a certain incident. a bandage is self-consciously wrapped around it to keep it straight. his mother was especially good at crafts and engineering, and she constructed him a mask with intricate material near the eyes to make the rays of light more gentle. since childhood, his sensitivity has improved, and in the long night hours he has no need to wear it. but his reclusiveness as a child has led to a shy personality, and adorning the mask makes him more confident.
