Unlike his clanmates who struggle with more advanced battle techniques or hunting advanced prey, Longstride actually struggles to run, despite his name. He has long legs and a fairly nimble body and his fur doesn't catch his legs while running, but for some reason he can't get the count right and runs in really weird ways. It encourages his clanmates to make jokes about the struggle he goes through and it actually really upsets him. Nobody really knows why he can't run, not even Snowheart, the clan medicine cat. She thinks it isn't that big a problem however, and feels sympathy for the tom.

Cats are supposed to have good balance right? At least most of the warriors in Ridgeclan do, all except for Clovernettle. It’s not even just when she’s walking on a branch, or using the rocks to close the river, not this molly can just lose her balances walking on the flat forest floor.

“Clovernettle did you fall again?” Nightfury called out as she moves towards the other warrior.

Not getting an answer at first the darker cat helped the other to stand once again, glancing up to the tree to where she assumed she fell from.

“How do you keep your balance?” Clovernettle asked instead of answering. “I mean I try so hard, I focus, I pay attention. I always make sure I know where my feet are going to go and yet I still end up on the floor on my face.”

Contemplating the question before answering, “ Maybe you’re thinking about it too much. I don’t do any of those things. Just try and relax next time and don't think about it too much.” She suggested, honestly not knowing how to help the other.

“Guess I’ll just never be very good at balancing, doomed to fall on my face for the rest of my life!”

“Hey, at least you didn’t fall in the river this time.”

"Pu..Put it down." Mirestar eyed the tom with a bewildered glare in her eyes, reaching to push his head down. "Why... how do you even expect that to work." she said in exasperation.

Shalestreak looked up to her, frowning, baffled by her complaint. He struggled ever since a kit with the whole "Hunters crouch" thing. Like, really struggled. Mainly, because he seemed to think that he had to keep his head up as high as possible, instead of crouching

"What do you mean?" he wondered, rolling on his side and waving his tail "If you keep your head up the entire time, the whole wetland will see you! And most certainly the prey you're going after.
"But if I keep my eyes up high I can see THEM better!" Shalestreak declared. Mirestar just shook her head, he was far too stubborn for his own good. He refused to see her reasoning and she couldn't quite tell if it was legitimate or he was trying to get on her nerves- therefore, she couldn't weigh if she should be that angry or not.

Shalestreak smiled obliviously as she wandered off in disdain, content for now that teaching him was a hundred times more trouble than it was worth.
