with her pale coat color she fears that if the stays in the
sun too long she'll start to get sunburn. after yuna had to
get treated for it she started to fear she was next. now
she tries to hide from june on a sunny day. she will not
leave her stall unless she has her blanket on her to reduce
the chance. most of the time she'll just stay in the shade
anyways.

Naira's biggest fear is being alone. In part it is because she enjoys company and hates solitude for too long, but the biggest thing is that she doesn't want to grow older and find she has no one in the world to care about or who cares about her. She longs to care for others and be cared about in return. In fact, she would be happiest in a herd if it were possible, but even just having a good friend or two who would stick by her through thick and thin would be enough for her.

Wheat's one and only true fear is disease. Whether it be herself or someone else's, it's the one thing that would bring her down. Wheat gained this fear while she was in a wild herd, the herd was swept with strangles, but not knowing what it was nobody knew how to fix it. Most of the herd was lost, and since then it's been something she's terrified of. If a new horse comes in to the ranch, she is always the very last horse to greet them. She doesn't want to seem uptight and pompous, but she would rather look unapproachable than to get sick.

Fear: Gentle is not a skittish girl, but there is one thing that really gets to her. Spiders! No other horse she know seems bothered by them, after all, they are all much bigger and stronger than a little spider. But when she was barely a yearling, A spider crawled onto Gentle's nose. It didn't bother her at first, she just watched it. But then it crawled towards her nostril, and it tickled! She shook her head and snorted, and when it crawled into her nose and held on tight she panicked! It took a few minutes, but she finally dislodged the spider (it bit her too, the little bugger!) And ever since then, she has been deathly afraid of them. The experience has also made her nervous about having her nose touched, but she's handled that well. Spiders? Not so much.

Fear: Her greatest fear is small ponies, it may sound funny at first, but for her it is very real. She unfortunately had a bad experience in a previous home, where she was kept in a very small pasture with a shetland with a penchant for evil. She is a submissive mare, and small for a mustang, and in such a confined space the short fuse of the shetland had her cornered, bitten and double barrel kicked regularly. With just a look from the shetland she would cower back, meaning she could not have access to food, water or attention until the shetland was finished. The owner was partly uneducated, but also uncaring and ignorant, even joking about what a wimp Eira is, when she was clearly suffering. She came into our custody when the old owner wanted rid of her, and she arrived with ribs showing and fear in her eyes. She is still a shy girl who is taking her time to slowly come round to being handled. We have had to very slowly introduce her to our most gentle mustangs. For now she has a friend in Nia.
