Strawberries mean a lot to Gard. In fact, they're one of the few things that matter to them at all. Their memory is spotty at best and theres very little they remember long term. Their name even was pulled from where they happened to be in their earliest memory. A garden. A garden that smelled of strawberries, to be specific. They remember smells better than anything and their earliest memory is layer with the smell of strawberries. Thus, they feel the fruit is important both to them now and who ever they may have been. If anything can help them remember who they are, its going to be strawberries.

The question makes Milse shudder the second you ask it. What does she associate with strawberries, you ask?
How about that overenthusiastic snitten that constantly tears up her carefully planted garden?
A disaster, she will cry! Absolutely appauling! She's replanted that tomato plant six times, those tulips twice, and you don't even want to know how many times she's scraped strawberry goo off of the pavement.
That being said... though she'll probably never admit it to anyone else, strawberries remind her of her tight-knit friendship with her best friend, Hedone. The other naga, also doomed to be patterned with strawberries forever, is one of the few creatures Milse actually enjoys the company of.
Strawberries remind her of her best friend and their shared laughter chasing mice through fields of wheat shining golden in the autumn sun. Strawberries remind her of the time she fell head-first into a snowdrift that was bigger than she was, and how her she had to be dragged out by her back paws, everyone around her - including her - snorting with laughter. In Milse's case, a lot of that laughing involved swallowing snow.
Strawberries remind her of how she once detested the fact she had an object to pattern her fur instead of beautiful blended colours like the popular nagalines - they remind her of how she met Hedone, who'd found her crying, who'd comforted her and showed her that her strawberries could be just as sweet as they were sour.
Strawberries? Yes, they remind her of torn-up gardens and hours of work gone to waste.
But they do not remind her of regret.
Her strawberries remind her of love. And she will plant them again, fill them with love and patience - because it's what her strawberry has done for her. It's only fair to pay them back.

Kairi has always been an inquisitive bean by nature. Never once truly thinking of his safety first. One thing that sticks out in his mind is the strawberry incident...

He had only been a snitten when he was forced by his mama to go camping with the rest of the snittens in the Naga Scout troop. She had thought that it was about time for him to get to know some other snittens in his age group.

They headed off to Camp Nagawawa, near a lake and a forest, where the Naga Scout troop had been going for years. They spent their time doing plenty of activities, from rope climbing to canoeing and once it got dark, the campfire was promptly lit for s'mores and scary stories!
After a long evening filled with terror, a scared Kai decided to head off with some friends to go berry picking. They found some amazing berries and had scoffed a whole lot by the time they got back.

One of the older Naga scouts teased the poor youngsters upon their return, saying "if they're red, you're DEAD!", and recited,
"White and yellow, kill a fellow.
Purple and blue, good for you.
Red, could be good, could be dead!".
Poor lil Kai and his friends just about near had heart attacks, luckily their den mother giggled and noted that they had just been munching on sweet strawberries.

Kai has adored strawberries ever since ❤
