“I - I don’t remember.” She stuttered, flinching as the lights overhead flickered. Thunder soon crackled.
“I see.” The large Flitz paused, chewing on a pen with oversized canines. “I recommend our recalling treatment. It will give me more information.” She perked her ears, thin wings shivering.
“I’ll do it.” She hastily agreed, pulling the pen from his mouth, searching for a paper to sign.
“Woah woah woah! I haven’t given you the drawback details.” He grabbed her face, stopping her rapid movements. “You will know what happened. You won’t be able to forget.”
“I won’t give up on this. I want to know.”
“Oh darling.” Picking up a bottle with a shimmering liquid inside, the large Flitz shook his head. “You have no idea what you are getting into.”
A single drop upon her tongue and she was gone.


A tear.
A sky full of tears.
Rain.
A garden of sun sets.
Fire. Roses. Vines. Thorns.
A cage of rusted metal.
Dried and dead stems of ghostly bushes forming a box.
Endless loops and mazes. Endless streams of tears. Endless flickering, dancing flames.
Her shield.
Her barrier.
Her prison.
Running on feet too slick to stand. Jumping on sodden dirt and sand.

No.

Escape.





But.


Light pain memory peace sadness rejoice cheer cry celebrate danger death.

Held in arms. Held to chest. Whispered to complete my rest.


I’m...dead.

Merideth jolted to her feet, her legs shaking immensely as she tried to remove the renewed memory. “I - I’m dead.” She whispered, dumbstruck. The large Flitz nodded, putting down the notepad and pen.
“Welcome to my world.”

His world.
His perfect world.
Where no one could touch him,
and he'd live on forever.
A world most strive to be in,
but to most are unobtainable.
His world.
It came crumbling down.
Crashing.
With a wall of flames,
and a veil of haze.
It overtook his body.
Eating him from the inside out.
And preventing him from ever leaving.
Stuck now in a fiery world,
surrounded by the flames he failed to put out.
He will never leave.

(Something major happened in his life, and he was riddled with rage and blinded by fury. Unable to vent his frustrations, he took it out on himself, and paid the price for letting his anger get to him.)

First off I’d like to award 1 FB to Ravenwhisper’s Wish. I really enjoyed the poem you wrote!
However the winner of this flit is SkyGold! Out of the ideas I had imagined for this flit, being dead was not one of them, however I found the idea very intriguing and the way you wrote it drew me in. I’m a sucker for stories with surprise endings. I can’t wait to see what you do with Meredith!
