The sounds of harsh whispering reached her ears even before she closed the distance between herself and the three rabbits, making her cast a concerned glance to the brown elder following behind. "What in Frith's name is going on?"
"Oh, Kimono!" Araki huffed, looking up in relief as he roughly shoved a little brown bundle forward with a glare. The blue doe blinked in surprise as the ball uncurled itself and brushed dirt from his fur before swishing his tail angrily at Araki. "We found this trespasser in the fields and he's claiming to be an emissary for Frith himself!"
"Chipmunk nice!" Juni blurted before Asaji thumped her foot and glared at him. The large buck dropped his ears with a slight pout and sat somewhat silently, though small grumbles still made their way out. Kimono was tempted to cast out the little creature before Taketa slid forward and mumbled something into her ear, making her reconsider her immediate reaction.
Kimono sighed and looked down at the chipmunk calmly, taking a moment to sniff his fur and feeling the warmth radiating from them. Sudden memories of the tales her father used to tell her and her brother as kits flashed through her mind and she twitched her ears in amusement. "Funnily enough, Araki, Juni is correct," she hummed as she sat back. "This chipmunk is nice and Frith does occasionally send an emissary and the warren that homes them as they travel is almost guaranteed to have luck."
"Seriously?"
"Yes, seriously. While this warren may not have seen one before, that does not mean we should be rude," she answered, puffing out her chest. Even though the doe was the same size as the Paladin, her rank was clear in her tone of voice and the buck begrudingly bowed his head to her.
Satisfied, Kimono turned to the other members of the warren who'd sitting silently. "Enoki, Asaji.. would you two be kind enough to make a nest for our visitor? And Araki and Taketa, I'd like you to go and collect a meal for him.. he deserves it after such rough treatment."
Araki looked as if wanted to protest before Taketa hopped forward and shook his head, butting against him and herding the blue and white buck back up the tunnel he'd come from. Kimono could hear the continued protests of the Paladin and chuckled before turning back to the group to see Asaji hadn't moved from her spot next to Juni - who'd gotten close to the nervous doe and Kimono may not be a seer but she could certainly see kits in their future, while Enoki had already started down their storage tunnel.
"Asaji?"
"Respectfully, my Rah," the snake pelted doe started, voice soft but still holding a certain amount of confidence. "I just don't trust this.. my old warren's Rah told us stories about these 'emissaries' but then would bring elil right to our door under the guise of them having Frith's blessing."
Kimono's face softened and she stepped forward to put a paw on the other doe's shoulder, "I understand your concerns but please trust me. At this warren, we only speak the truth and would never risk bringing an elil this close to our door."
"I understand.. I'm sorry.."
"It's alright. Would you please go help Enoki with the nest? Juni can even go with you, if you like."
Asaji tried to hide the joy on her face and she glanced at the male beside her. "Okay.."
