What are Khimaira Friesians?
Khimaira Friesians are a "normal" friesian breed with all characteristics of a friesian and a average height from 15 to 17 hands, but even 18 hands can occur. The first born Khimaira was mistaked for a chimera horse. But a genetic test showed otherwise, there wasn't a second DNA but a complete new and unknown gen. Because this gen makes the friesian look like a chimera it was named khimaira. khimaira doesn't produce a complete new dna coat and therefor it can only lighten or darken the base coat of the horse. Till now only the paint khimaira is known that makes the khimaira coloration looks like tobiano, overo, sabino or splash. But we believe that there will be more khimaira variations out there and we still try to breed them. Appaloosas are not known till now, but we have some great friesian mixed horses with appaloosa patterns, so we are sure to deliver them to you in a short amount of time.

Show Name: Taking it All
Barn Name: Reagan
Gender: Mare
Age: 10 years
Halter color: eye colour
Pearl/jewel color (halter): lavender
Whatever Youd like for Entry:
Reagan came to the stable when she was 8 years.
When I was introduced to her, she was weak and underweight. She was malnourished,
her previous owner had given up on her. Leaving her in the stable without food or water, she was sleeping in a dirty stall that hadn't been clean for days.
The ASPCA got a call and went to rescue her. Since I'm on top of the list for rescuing sick animals, they called me and I immediately said yes. A few hours after that they brought her over and she was definitely scared at first when I approached her, but it didn’t take me long to gain her trust though. With lots of patience and sugar cubes, you can get the job done quickly.
After gaining her trust I led her to the pasture, she didn't have a halter on since her face had scars from where her last halter grew into her skin. But luckily she followed right behind me.
I got to introduce her to all my other lovely horses. They all got along well and she takes a special interest to my boy Apis.
After getting her settled down I made her a special feed that I give my horses on special occasions.
The poor girl was underweight so I added a mixture of oats that would help with that.
She wouldn’t eat it out of the bucket so I had to hand feed her, I’m glad she’s trusting me.
She’s trusting me more than I expected. Obviously she has a kind heart, no matter what had happened in her old home.
Now, the name she came with was Moonshine, but I don’t think that fits her.
I decided to rename her, and after going through a list of names, I found one that we both loved.
Reagan. This beautiful mares name is now Reagan. Of course I had to go through the process of the name change, but that wouldn’t take long since most of my horses were rescues, so I know how to go through the process quickly.
After a month Reagan had already started to look better.
She gained most of her weight back and she was finally able to run around with the other horses without being in pain. I rescued a lot of horses, but never one like Reagan.
She wasn’t ready to give up on hope. This baby was strong and knew that I was going to help her. She did everything, including her training.
Reagan is a strong mare and I’m glad to have her in my stables.
