what happened to their horn? (drawing or 300 words max) ;
Unicorn horns could supposedly heal any ailment or injury, short of death or regrowing limbs. Fatal diseases, a deep cut, infections. Ilex owned an apothecary, a small place hosting a multitude of various herbs and potions hand-picked and handmade. She would treat normal, household injuries and illnesses for her town, an accidental knife cut when slicing up the vegetables, a fever from a child not properly dressed before going outside. She couldn't prepare herself, though, when her sister died under the care of her own paws.
It had been a particularly difficult winter, and it didn't help that raids were occurring frequently as the weather grew harsher. Anyone who could fight was asked to assist in defending the village, and Ilex's sister was one of the best fighters the village had. There was no question that she would be sent out. Ilex never wanted to see the day, however, when her paws were stained with her sister's blood as she tried to save her life. She had heard the rumors of unicorn horns, of course- her sister lost hers long ago, though she never asked how. Out of options, Ilex cut off her horn and tried to make it in time.
It worked, for a moment- but it was done too late, the powers of the horn unable to fight off death. Ilex lost one of the greatest healing abilities in the world, and she lost her sister all in one fell swoop. She's been bitter, though she still works hard at watch she does to make her sister proud. what happened to their horn? (drawing or 300 words max) ; The world spun as Aspen lay on the ground, half dazed. When she awoke, a sharp pain hit her head. She fell, and took out her mirror. Upon inspecting her head, she saw her horn was gone. She knew why. It was common for kalons around here with horns. If a kalon with a horn comes into contact with poison ivy or catnip (I know, it amazes Aspen herself), their horn has a chance to get Kalt (kah-alt), which is also called Kalon Rot. If a kalon develops Kalon Rot, any horns or wings they have gain a very high chance (80-90%) to rot away, minus the base (excluding one case we won't mention).

what happened to their horn? ;
"you are not royalty, you are not related to us," hissed a voice from above marzia, tugging her down by her horn.
"please," she said, voice soft and defeated.
"what was that?" a second voice came, pushing her to the floor.
the two girls - who were her older stepsisters - laughed above her, one bending down to look at her.
"only the royals have horns," she said, looking up at her sister. "so what do we do to peasants that pretend they're one of us?"
"please," marzia said again, "please don't."
"what was that? we can't hear you," the second sister said, her hands gripping onto her horn and lifting her head up. marzia looked to the sister that was in front of her, seeing the saw in her hand. she struggled against the one behind her, but was weak in comparison to her, and she heard a laugh behind her.
the sister in front of her then put the saw against her horn, marzia about to plead for her to stop, but before she could get the words out, she was sawing it off, and the only thing that left her mouth was a shriek of pain, and many more would follow until she passed out from shock, and awoke in the middle of the woods with nowhere to go.
extra ;
marzia stood there in the darkness, a saw in one hand, and a dagger in the other hand.
"who's not royalty now?" she said aloud to the quiet room.
the step-sisters were in their separate beds, dead, their horns laying on the floor. it had been two years since the incident, but marzia had never forgot. she just waited for the right time to strike.
with that, she turned and walked towards the window from which she came in through, and jumped out of it. they never found out who did it, or the next murders that followed.
(oof sorry that i went so dark with the prompt lmao)

what happened to their horn? ;
At the time, it had been gifted. But over the years, Amory had come to
realize that something in his actions - the way he spoke so openly, perhaps,
or how readily he would come to give his aid if it was needed - must have
easily divulged his childlike naivety to those eager to slick him up and take
advantage of his generosity. How could he have known that such greedy
intent lay beneath laughter so soft and smiles so sweet?
After a lifetime or two of struggling through the shame from his youth, he
still knew of the horn’s fate, knew of its whereabouts and its current keeper.
In the form of an otherworldly platinum goblet encrusted in unnaturally
blue and ethereally ringed gemstones, it was likely collecting dust in a be-
jeweled cabinet among similar creations. Having already served its purpose
as a rite of passage for a shining young queen long since passed, it was now
utterly useless. Old affections had kept him from ever trying to retrieve it.

name ; sufjan

sufjan was eager to fight in his first battle. he'd donned his shining armor and grabbed his gleaming sword (both meticulously polished by him the day before), and he was full to the brim with a desire to protect his kingdom. every muscle twitched in anticipation as he followed the battalion towards the sprawling fields before them. it was only moments before the opposition appeared on the horizon, and the group charged forward. sufjan threw himself at an enemy, and they grappled, until he found himself with the other pinned down. he drew back his sword, feeling a rush of victory. just as you practiced. right through the heart. his adversary still struggled beneath him, and as he prepared to end it, their helmet loosened just enough that he could see two eyes, full of fear and desperation. not the emotionless glass of the training dummies he'd slain before. suddenly, it was no longer good vs. evil. he was no longer the hero in a one sided story. it was just two kalons, bleeding the same blood, crying the same tears, and breathing the same air. for all he knew, the 'foe' before him felt that they themself were the good guy. sufjan's sword clattered to the ground.
one week ago, it had happened. he'd failed in his only task, and it was now his time to face the punishment. the penalty for cowardice was the worst. he knew he'd be left unrespected; an outcast in all regards. before him stood the marshal, raising a sword. sufjan's sword. completely clean of blood. there was no point in begging. he could only bow his head in shame, watching with pain as his horn fell to the floor.
