The arid winds moved the sand and sparse shrubs softly whistling along with the howls of the coyotes further out in the desert. It was pitch black the only apparent light for miles was the sliver of moon which shined above. Zim pushed open the screen door wandering out into the yard. Zim was off to go retrieve the toy he had forgotten in his race to escape the stifling summer heat. Zim crossed the yard aware of every snapping twig and rustle of the brush. His home was an eerie place but then again what else could be expected from the infamous Roswell, New Mexico. I mean its unofficial slogan was "Like regular Mexico with more UFO's". Aha Zim thought as he spotted his familiar toy tucked within a nearby patch of brush. He squeezed in to grab it and froze. A strange wheezing sound had started up as though something closeby was unable to breathe. Then he saw it. It looked like a human almost if it hadn't been for the sense of wrongness in the proportions. Its limbs were too long and seemed too thin to carry its strange body and its long fingers ended in claws. Its disturbed eyes reflected in the moonlight and it let out a long snarling wheeze as its head turned in Zim's direction. For a moment their eyes met. Zim thought he was going to die right there. Then a male voice cried out "Skully over here" and the creature vanished.

Love that reference so much, as well as the detail and staging. Certainly would be spooky to behold! Congrats!

Honorable mention to Ringo.'s form! I enjoyed the style it was written in as well, being a bit more on the child-like fear side and creating a name for the thing they thought they saw.
