    Age: 38 moons

Prompt: Thyme was never one to ever keep secrets, but has always been very defensive over being asked questions about her old life. Her twin often becomes confused due to this, but there are secrets that this sweet molly is keeping from her family.

Thyme lived in the town before she was welcomed into the clan with her sister, but they had been separated during the time before the clan. During this time something had happened to the skinny female. She carries regret from it every day now. Hoping that one day she will find out what happened to them thou.
Thyme ended up with a bad group of cats on the street, but when she had tried to leave multiple times they would end up somehow convincing her to stay. While she was with the group she ended up falling in love with a pretty bad cat. They didn't really love Thyme as she loved him, but it didn't matter to him. The male took extreme granted of her and ended up getting her pregnant with his kits.

╚══════════╝
Swanstep and Walls

It felt like ages since they had been old enough to start learning grown-up cat things. They were impatient to begin learning and had constantly pestered their parents for hunting lessons. Reluctant as they were to watch their single kit grow up, Taine's parents finally relented.
That evening, Taine proudly followed their mother back to the humble den her family had borrowed from a long-dead fox, holding their first catch in their jaws. Taine's mother carried a trio of mice, swinging by their tails. Together, the mother-kit duo had hunted, while Taine's father stayed behind to keep an eye on things. No doubt, he trusted his mate to make sure he was well fed. He was not disappointed.
A hearty meal followed purrs of congratulation, but all too soon, it was time for sleep. Taine nestled into their nest with a belly full of prey and a heart full of pride, but they were far too excited to fall asleep quickly. They truly wanted to sleep, though doing so proved difficult. The sooner Taine slept, the sooner they would be able to hunt again. Of course, trying to sleep when one is not sleepy is terribly boring business. Taine was relieved to hear their father's voice nearby and decided to eavesdrop for awhile. Whatever the adults were talking about was bound to be more interesting than just laying there.

"You look distant, my love. Is something wrong?"
    Taine's mother answered.
"Hm? Oh, sorry. It's nothing. I was just thinking about how far we've come..."
"Taine's grown up fast." he agreed.
"That's not exactly what I meant. You are right, though."
    "Is it... that?"

Taine felt their ears prick up a bit at the way their father emphasized the word "that". Curiosity welled up within them, leading them to wonder what their parents were talking about. Taine did not have to wait long to piece things together.

"...So much has changed since Antiogu died, but so much is the same. I'm just glad Taine doesn't remember."
"I suppose it wasn't that long ago, when you think about it, but I feel like I've already known you for a lifetime. Heh. He was a lucky guy." he purred to his mate.
"I don't know how I would have gotten through all of that without you. The past already happened, but I'm glad I'm here, like this, right now, with you. You've been such a good father, you know, for jumping in like that, and an even better mate. You make me so happy."
"He did the right thing. There's no way a real tom would let a badger take his kits away. I would have done the same."

Touching. Mushy. Gross. Taine hardly noticed any of the usual emotions they would feel upon overhearing their parents being affectionate. This was all so much to take in. The youngster stared holes into the darkness as their claws dug into the moss beneath them. It sounded like someone else was actually their real father, and he was dead. Killed by a badger. Killed because his weak, defenseless kits could do nothing. Then... the tom sitting outside, peacefully sharing tongues with his mate, was a fraud. If that tom was not their father, then who was Taine? Who was Taine, really? Was it their fault that they would never meet their real father? Why had their mother replaced him so quickly? Everything was fake. This while life was nothing but a lie.

When the two older cats came to bed, Taine feigned sleep. They waited until the adults were snoring softly, and then they left. Taine wandered aimlessly through the entire night, and simply never stopped. Taine wrestled with the agony of their shattered world, but they could find no peace. Who were they, if their origins were a lie, and the truth was so buried under time and falsehoods that it was impossible to find?

No matter how much time passed, Taine never opened their heart. It became an unconscious reaction, like a reflex. If Taine's own parents could not be trusted, why would a stranger ever be trustworthy? Even after pledging their loyalty to Fractureclan, Taine, now Swanstep, never let their walls down.

Gender: Male
Age: 33 moons

Prompt:

JadeDrop something he’s ashamed of. There is no one that he’s shared this secret with, no one that he thinks would understand. So he sets up a wall, or actually, it would be better called a mask over his emotions. The Cats of the Endless Skies are not very accepting towards people that are different. Like sexuality, whenever someone goes against the norm they have one strict policy, Just don’t tal about it. JadeDrop has known this all his life, and because of that he his true self, and instead made himself seem straight. He smiled at the she cats that flirted with him, and supresses all the feelings he has for a certain sparkly tom in his clan. He’s afraid, he’s afraid to show who he is to the world, so that’s why JadeDrop made the wall, the wall of his fake smiles.

Cat Name: Thistlestep
Clan: xxx
Rank: Warrior

Gender: Tom
Age: 45 moons

Prompt: “What do you think it is?”
Mothstar turned to the apprentice peering out at the strange, wooden construct from behind the safety of a rock, rolling her shoulders back into a shrug as she eyed the abomination carefully. “If I’m being entirely honest,” she sighed, “then I’m not sure. It could be a beaver dam, but looking at it up close, it doesn’t look like any beaver dam I’ve ever seen before.”
Mintblaze stepped forward cautiously. “It could be a twoleg den,” she offered.
“No, it can’t be,” Ridgepaw immediately dismissed the idea. “It doesn’t have an entrance! At least... Not that I can see.” He padded towards the thing slowly, sniffing at it once he was a couple tail lengths away.

Mothstar watched with unease as the apprentice investigated, turning to face her deputy. “How long has this been here? Do you know?”
Mintblaze shook her head. “I just got word of it at sunrise,” she admitted. “Firegaze said she’d been out collecting herbs when Kestrelpaw stumbled upon it. They didn’t find much else around it — except some old crow food, Firegaze was telling me.”
Mothstar hummed thoughtfully. “Well this thing certainly did not erect itself overnight,” she finally announced. “Someone had to have built it, but who? And why on PeachClan territory?”

Ridgepaw looked back at the two higher ups, tilting his head. “Maybe they didn’t know?”
“Impossible,” Mintblaze scoffed. “Our border markers are all over the place. Whoever built this thing knew what they were doing and simply didn’t care.”
Mothstar dipped her head in agreement. “We’ll keep an eye on it for now — wait and see if anyone comes back to it. If nobody returns by nightfall, we tear it down.”
Just as Mintblaze was vocalizing her agreement, a wail sounded out from behind them. “Oh, I knew it wasn’t safe here!”

The clan cats whirled around to see a Siamese dart past Ridgepaw roughly, entering the construct through a hidden passage in the ground. They could hear him muttering to himself from the inside. “Stupid, stupid, stupid! They follow me wherever I go! Just after I’d finally finished building it! Oh lawkes, now I have to find another place to live!”
Mintblaze’s fur bristled as she rammed herself at the construct. “Come out now! You’re trespassing on PeachClan territory! Explain yourself, intruder!”
A shrill shriek came from the wooden abomination. “Please don’t hurt me! I’m harmless! I can’t even hunt! I’m pathetic enough as it is, I can’t die in the wilderness!”

Mothstar quickly intervened between Mintblaze’s assault. “What are you doing on PeachClan territory?” she asked calmly, holding the other molly at bay. “You don’t smell like a clan cat...”
“That’s because I’m not,” the loner whimpered from inside his den. “I’m just a pathetic kittypet, and I’ve been attacked by wretched clan cats for two moons now! I’m trying to keep my hide, you can’t kill me for wanting to survive, can you?!”
Ridgepaw blinked. “What’s your name, mister? We’re not gonna attack you.”

“Yes you are!” the pitiful tom wailed. “Clan cats are all the same! They hate kittypets and only want to keep their prey for themselves! Even from pitiful cats like me, who don’t even know how to hunt!”
Mothstar tilted her head and padded towards the construct, nosing around at it. “How did you build this?” she asked nonchalantly. “It’s quite impressive.”
Silence. Then — “R-really? Y-you think so?”
“Of course!” Mothstar purred. “I’ve not met a clan cat with such craftsmanship, let alone a kittypet.”

There was a scuffling sound before the cat poked his head out from the hidden entrance. “...Thank you,” he said softly.
“You’re welcome. What is your name?”
“Th-Thistle,” the tom replied. “S-sorry for intruding. I-it’s just — I’ve been attacked so many times, a-and I was afraid it’d happen again, s-so I-I built my fort.”
“No need to explain yourself, comrade,” Mothstar chuckled. “You don’t know how to hunt?”

“Y-yeah,” the tom admitted sheepishly. “I’m just a kittypet, see...”
“Very well,” Mothstar nodded. “You may join Mintblaze and Ridgepaw on their hunting patrol, if you’d like. As a peace treaty?”
Surprised, the tom shyly nodded. “I... I think I’d like that.”

    Cat Name: FennelClaw
    Clan: BeachClan
    Rank: wave runner

    Gender: female
    Age: 41 moons

    Prompt:
    "They are the enemy."
JaggedClaw said, almost spitting the words as he spoke them, pacing up and down the row of his spies. Claws visible as he waltzed back and forth. There were seven of them, Fennel, Maple, Rio, Hail, Cloud, Berry and Cherry. They had been brought together by JaggedClaw for a reason, they were blessed- chosen to avenge their ancestors death and reclaim their birth home for the greatness of their people.
They trained and trained. There wasn’t a day that they didn’t spend working until they were breathless, practising fighting moves, their ‘story’ and even accents. Building up new identities, leaving their past behind them with the ultimate goal of slipping into the ranks of the clan which would eventually settle upon the shores of their ancestors home.
You see, FennelClaw was the kit of a rogue she-cat and a tom of strange origins. When she was six moons she began getting visions of the sea-shore, the waves lapping and the pine forests shaking with the breeze. It stirred her soul and called her to move- to find this place. The second she could leave her mother she was gone, searching the world to find the voice that beckoned her every time she opened her eyes. She travelled far and wide until she found it the ocean with horizon bending out of view, the salt water mixing with the smell of pine- it was home.
A figure had approached from behind and called to her, introduced himself as JaggedClaw and told her the story of her ancestors and warned about the children of Nettle who would no doubt return for their ill-gotten territory soon. She was told that she had returned to this place, received visions for she was one of the chosen- one of the special few who would be able to reclaim their homeland and deliver justice for the lives lost.
Finally, someone who understood- someone who believed, it was all she had ever wanted. Her mother had thought her insane but JaggedClaw had not only believed but also cared so very much. So when he asked her if she wanted to become part of their group she agreed. Her training began and it wasn't long before more cats like her filtered towards the shoreline, most of them joining their little rebellion.
Then there was her fake life, the life she would tell the children of nettle when they arrived.
She was a lost soul, a mother who had lost her kits in a flood; was heart broken looking for a fresh start. She built up her other life, her story, memorised her kits names, appearances and personalities- kits she never had but could describe like they had truly been a part of her life.
Mint, was her only daughter, a bright eyed creature who had the sweetest giggle that could only be matched by her dilute tortoiseshell pelt. Mint would go on long rambles about the things she liked, butterflies, freshly killed vole and oddly shaped pebbles. Sorrel was her runt son, a quiet soul who with a grey pelt. He was silent a near mute who would always charm her with the most affectionate words when she least expected it. Rowan was a solid black kit who thought he was the biggest baddest thing in the forest, always stepping up when trouble called.
Sometimes the line blurred and it was almost as if those kits had been real. That was what made it so easy to pretend, to lie to the children of Nettle when they finally showed up. She lurked at their border before finally approaching. She knew what she had to do, pretend, lie, play the part until JaggedClaw called upon her to turn on her new 'clan-mates'.
Although each day she spends by these cats side that lie she had built begins to burn in her chest. Are the children of Nettle truly that bad? [655/700]

Cat Name: Loch
Clan: Ridgeclan
Rank: spy

Gender: male
Age: 31 moons

Prompt: ( Alderpaw is a current npc, but is my already accepted custom from this month so he will be in the clan once completed. )
Spies supposed to have secrets aren't they? That's just something that comes with the job and everyone knows it. How many cats they've made disappear, how old they are, where they came from, and everyone else's secrets on top of that. You expect them to be extravagant and every time a stories told the tales just get taller. Loch just lays in camp and listens to the stories that the others come up with, while all the while hiding what he considers his biggest secret of all.

Eyes glancing towards the apprentice den Loch watches as Adderpaw pads out, smiling and laughing with the other apprenticesLoch can do nothing but watch as the young cat's greet there mentors and begin to discuss the plans for the day.

Loch’s biggest secret isn’t that he comes from the warlord gang in the city or that he could honestly care less about most of the cats in the clan. Honestly, he doesn’t care who knows any of that, he’d push all of it to the front of his walls and sing it to the heavens if it means his real secret would stay hidden. The fact that he’s Adderpaw’s father, something that if found out would spell nothing but disaster for his kit.

While spies were apart of the clan, while they played an important role and everyone knew they were needed it didn’t mean they were liked. The clan kept their distance from those assigned to the role, speaking only about them in rumors and stories when sharing tongues with one another where no one could overhear. Loch, of course, overheard though, all the spies did, it was their job to know anything and everything going on of course.

Loch had been dumb when he’d first come to the clan, not realizing just what it meant to become a spy at first, not realizing just what came with it. He’d gone and thought he’d fallen in love with Adderpaw’s mother and maybe at the time he had. But that love was long gone and replaced with only his worry for his only kit. He would do anything to protect the younger tom and if that meant that he never found out who his father was then, so be it.

He would build walls upon walls around his mind and around anyone in the clan who might start to look the wrong way. He would watch his pride and joy from the shadows as a spy was supposed to and make sure no harm ever came to him. There was no secret more important than this one and with Adderpaw’s mother up in the stars with her ancestors Loch could build his walls without fear of her breaking them down.

Did you forget me so soon?
The one who made you,
turned you into this monster?
How sad.

Though I guess it's to be expected,
you always liked to block things out.
If it didn't make sense in your mind,
you just forgot about it.

But maybe it's because I didn't,
make you into a monster that is.
You already were a monster,
weren't you?

Pinemask was once part of a rogue group responsible for the torture and killings of many cats. Pinemask has killed several cats and learned not to show emotion. When the group broke up, no one would trust/care about him due to his past and now that SnakeClan took him in, he can’t let the members know who he is. He just wants to be accepted and loved.

Cat Name: Fallowfrost
Clan: Zephyrclan
Rank: Deputy

Gender: Tom
Age: 25 moons

Prompt: 603 words
Secrets were everywhere. Of course, everyone had something to hide, but it was usually something about themselves. Fallowfrost was different. He had someone to hide.

No one could know about her.

It wasn't as if Fallowfrost wanted to hide her, but she had insisted. She had broken too many parts of the code, scorned by Starclan and by her own clanmates. Her own family even. She was punishing herself for what she had done, and Fallowfrost tasked himself with taking care of her, even if she refused to come into the clan. Fallowfrost would go out every single day to make sure she was doing ok, bringing her prey or herbs or anything she needed. It was exhausting, especially on top of his deputy duties, but he would do it for her. He would keep her a secret if that was what she wished, because she was all he had left. The last of his family, the only cat he felt he could depend on. He needed to protect her because she was his sister. Icewing.

It wasn't even that Fallowfrost was just carrying the secret of his sister's existence with him, but also the knowledge of what she had done to break the code. No one knew about that either. And it was a heavy weight to carry, though a necessary evil, and Fallowfrost knew that Icewing was very torn up about the events that had unfolded that fateful day.

The rain had started suddenly, the sky opening in an intense downpour. Icewing and Fallowfrost, newly made warriors, had been with each other by their favorite spot, a small clearing among the forest. They had taken shelter as the rain started falling, laughing as they swiftly made their way under a rocky overhang to keep their fur dry.

"What a way to start our lives as a warrior," Fallowfrost chuckled, shaking out his wet pelt. "I hope it's not an omen that being a warrior will be unpredictable and hard," he continued joking, not noticing Icewing's wide stare out by the stream. "Is that-?" Fallowfrost's question was cut short by a sharp look from Icewing.

What Fallowfrost had seen was the figure of their clan's leader. Along with the current deputy, a power hungry she-cat. Fallowfrost felt uneasy about seeing them together, the tensions almost palpable, and it was clear by Icewing's tense posture that she felt the same. Before either sibling could act, the deputy had struck, pushing their leader into the strong current of the nearby river. Icewing had been the one to act as Fallowfrost remained under the rocks, frozen with fear, not comprehending what he had seen. Icewing had been the one to fight the deputy, pushing her into the same waters that had just taken their leader, staring in shock after she realized what she had done.

Icewing had the greater burden to bear. But why did Fallowfrost feel like he had been the one to kill three cats that rainy day?

The two siblings had returned to their clan with the news that both their leader and deputy were dead. What they did not expect was the outcry that happened, claiming Fallowfrost and Icewing to be the murderers of both cats, with Icewing confirming in a dull voice that she had killed them both. Though Fallowfrost was declared innocent, he decided to leave with his sister as she was banished. He had found Zephyrclan soon after leaving his old clan, but Icewing refused to go anywhere near another clan.

So Fallowfrost had secrets to keep. And a sister to protect, if only from herself.

Congrats!
