Just as there are many different types of rabbits hopping around out in the wide world, so are there many types of love and many types of affections. Just as you have Hares, Rabbits, Bunnies and more, you have Romantic love, Sibling love, even friendship love. William has experienced all types of love throughout his life. He loved his mother, he adored his friends, but it was when he fell in love with a golden retriever that his heart was broken. It wasn't a romantic sort of engagement- not to William anyway.
No, he felt like this dog was his friend and companion. For many moons they went around and around together, playing in the fields and running down dirt roads. The retriever's owner even tolerated the bun sleeping in the dogs big hutch. As the moons went by, the already older dog became slower and moved with more effort. When it rained, it was nearly impossible to get the old boy up.
Unfortunately, the day came when William crested the hill leading down to the farm, but the old dog wasn't there to greet him. He came in further to check the dog hutch, but still no sign. Perhaps the dog went to the needle-stick place? So, William did what any friend would do: return once again the next day. The results stayed the same and William eventually stopped coming to the farm altogether.
He still misses his friend dearly, but he has since moved on, hopping along until he hopefully finds something to cheer him up.

The latest hurt in an alarmingly long line of relationship related hurts (if physical injuries were included, the line would be much, much longer) was a rather upsetting rejection from whom she considered ‘the love of her life’. Of course, there had been many other rabbits worthy of the title, a few bucks, most does, and almost all of the got the same reaction. Most rejections, however, weren’t accompanied by the heart stopping shame she felt with this one, especially as she’d believed for almost a month that her feelings were returned. The latest bun was her warrenmate Sunset, a gorgeously soft red bun with a tiny little heart marking on her shoulder.

The small grey bun was a small grey ball in one unused corner of the warren, gently shaking with muffled sobs, a rather unusual sight in the warren, even when concerning Storm, the bun who’s asked almost every doe in the warren out at one time or another for various reasons. Her mind was racing in circles, begging whatever power that could to turn back time so it never happened. There was so little of a chance that anything could go back to how it was before after this and all she blamed was herself.

A vicious circle of thoughts and the sobbing continued for a few minutes more, until gentle footsteps were heard behind the bun ball. Nervous footsteps, as if the wielder was unsure of what they were doing, each hesitated before meeting the floor. A gentler voice was heard behind her, a familiar voice, one of the last she’d have expected, “S-storm…”

The young Doe watched on with soft eyes as Crackle spoke to her. She snapped her teeth at him making him straighten up quickly. "Oi! Don't go sticking yer nose where it don't belong, Crackle-Rah!" She snapped aggressively but after a brief huff she settled down, though she eyes him with trepidation.

"Wasn't on purpose anyway...but my friend...Onyx. She did this." Her ears lowered sadly as she gazed at Crackle swallowing thickly for a moment. "We were both kits together. Grew up at each other's sides. Onyx was my rock and shining armor even when I didn't need her to be. Especially when I didn't want her to be..." Crackle sat down hesitantly on his haunches as Jinx settled in, her paws tucked demurely under her soft downy fur. She looked off to the side almost sadly.

"We were young and stupid. But we had sense between the two of us...When Onyx wanted to go to the Human Barn, I said 'Listen...we need to be careful...' and we were! We were doubly careful about it all until that wretched carrot thrower of a human came over..." She closed her eyes tightly, sadness radiating from her as she bowed her head. "I was so hungry...I didn't think twice...he just tossed a carrot towards us. And I crept forward and took a bite...And then another...all the while Onyx was tryin to get my attention! But I just wanted a little nibble more. I told myself I'd bring back more for both of us...not even realizing the trap. I never saw the strange square creature he had sitting there, all those carrots right underneath..."

Her ears fell as her nose quivered. "Onyx, my dumb and bright best friend...she...she raced up to me to push me away and scratched me...I can remember her face when the strange thing came down and ate her whole!" Tears formed in her eyes. "I ran away without even looking back for her! And now she's gone!" She sobbed and Crackle was bewildered and confused but he knew sorrow. And right now that was all this rabbit in front of him could feel. Without much thought, he crept over to her and felt her stiffen up beside him before being overcome with pain and pushing her face into his shoulder. He could only hope that her Onyx ran through the nightly fields with Inele now.

Dahlia was originally a pet rabbit - a beloved one that is. She always felt herself a part of the family, since the very first day she was brought in as a kit. Her girl loved her - they played days long, she took Dahlia everywhere she went on a beautiful leash adorned with beads and ribbons, brought her all kinds of treats and toys, and even at night, Dahlia slept on a pillow next to her human big sister. Her life was perfect to her, and she was happy - so happy that it clouded her mind and blinded her to the disaster that was to come.

It started slowly, first her girl stopped taking her to sleep on her pillow. Then their games became shorter and further apart, untill she was barely even taken out of her cage. No new toys appeared, and she was no longer given any treats. More humans like her big sister started to come over, and they talked a lot and put stinking something on their nails and beeped a lot with their little black boxes, completely ignoring Dahlia who curiously peeked out of her cage. But Dahlia did not worry. She trusted her family with all her heart, she knew the troubles were only temporary - there must be something that made her big sister busy, and sooner or later, it will go away and everything will be all right. As long as they're together, nothing bad will ever happen - so she thought. Oh how wrong she was.

A chilly but sunny early spring day, Dahlia felt it was finally it! Her big sister took her out, put her favorite sparkly harness on her and they went out on a loud metal thing (she later learned proper name for it was "hrududu") - on a trip, just like they used to. She was happy. Everything was finally back to normal! She excitedly rushed out, towards the soft new grass, to frolic on it with her family. Just like in good old days, they went on a walk among the new grass, going up-hill for a while untill they reached a big meadow. It was sunlit, birds sang in the trees - ahh, a perfect place to play! Her big sister even took her harness off - oh wow! She only did that in the yard before - was all this huge plain with cool rocks and trees their yard now too?! Overjoyed, Dahlia hopped forward to play chase with her girl, and then...

She turned back to invite her to game, and didnt see her. Dahlia stood up, sniffing the air and looking around. Was her sister playing hide-and-seek with her? But there was nowhere to hide in sight... the rabbit hopped back the same path they came here and caught just a glimpse of her sister's bright second pelt that she always wore when it was cold - it was quickly moving away. Did something happen in that direction? Worried, Dahlia hurried after her girl. She could barely keep up, something really important must have happened... But then, Dahlia saw her girl going inside hrududu, it roared and started moving, slowly, backwards to the big flat path they always run on.

Oh no! Dahlia bolted forward as fast as she could, trying to chase the hrududu. She screamed at the top of her lungs, "Wait! Im here! You forgot me!" but the hrududu roared so loud her family couldnt hear her... but why wont anyone of them just turn back for a moment, she was right there, they could see her... Dahlia ran after it for endless minutes, desperately trying to catch up, but it moved so fast, further and further away, untill it disappeared in the distance. Sore and out of breath, Dahlia tripped on the slippery flat surface and crashed onto the hrududu path, scratching her chest on a small sharp rock. Painful realisation came to her as she gasped for air... they didnt forget her. Bits of signs over the last few months now all came together. They left her behind. She was abandoned.

In shock and woe, Dahlia didnt notice and another hrududu suddenly ran over her head, startling her beyond herself. As soon as it passed she darted without looking where, in panic, and rolled down the road side into a pit, where she laid, absolutely motionless, for a while, before she could muster herself to stand up and walk again. Numb and staggering, she stumbled up the hill, towards the plains there, not paying any mind to the scratch that still bled - she knew not where she was going or why, just felt she had to go away from the noisy and stinky hrududu path. She walked untill dark, untill she finally collapsed from exhaustion under some bush. It got so cold. She felt like world have ended...
