what brings them good luck?: Scarab lives in Egypt in ancient times. He is a magician training to follow Bast and can transform into a cat, along with many other cool bits of magic, and when he finishes his training he’ll be even more powerful.
Working as a magician is dangerous and hard, almost no one succeeds. Despite this, he is sure he’ll succeed due to his scarab necklace enchanted with luck. His grandmother gave it to him when he was a kit.
But now? Suddenly people of his village are mysteriously dying off, including his grandmother. As the most powerful magician in the small village (they only have two magicians...), he is chosen to find what is taking down villagers and get rid of it. Now he’s on this quest with minimal experience and only a good luck charm. The question is, now that his grandma has passed, the one who enchanted it, does it even still work?
Guess he’ll find out.

what brings them good luck?: Sul has a small bag of things which they claim bring good luck, but the one that brings them the most luck is a metal necklace chain with a few broken links. They were given it by their parents shortly before they separated, and eventually left their life.
The chain started out perfect, but once their parents separated, the first link broke. Nothing horrible happened to them because of the event other than having to see one parent less, and they say this is because the necklace took all the damage and bad karma.
The second link broke when their parents left their life. Shortly after, they got a raise and a better position in the business they worked for at the time. This meant that they could rent an apartment above studio level and still have money for the essentials.
The third broke when they lost their first job. The business had been doing poorly for some time, and was eventually bought by a competing company. This company wanted to refresh and rejuvenate the business by firing all of the workers, and replacing them with either other workers or machines, depending on the skills needed for that individual job. A week later, they had been hired for another business, doing the same thing for twice the pay.
A few others have broken since the third one, but none of them were from as world changing things as the first three.
Sul refuses to repair or replace this chain. They claim that if they do so, all the bad luck and karma the necklace has absorbed will pour out two-fold onto them.

xxxxLuck is quite the fickle thing. From granting us our most sought after dreams to sending us crashing down into the mud for even trying, it is ever changing and ever so unpredictable. To combat these strange circumstances, we embrace superstitions that for all we know could mean absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things. Nonetheless, we cling to them in the hopes that they will make our lives the heaven we desire them to be. A particular practice among the superstitious is to carry an item of unique value to oneself. Some of these items include a four leaf clover, lucky horseshoes, lucky dice, or a box of lucky charms cereal.

xxxxIn Sept’s case, it as an item as dear to him as yours is to you. His eyes are what bring him the luck he and many others so desperately desire. The deep, endlessly black sclera that serves to further define his beautifully orange iris’ are the source of Sept’s good fortune. Whatever Sept wishes or hopes for always comes to fruition, without fail. However, non-believers of superstition are quite suspicious of these supposedly lucky eyes. Some say his eyes do not bring him any luck at all, but rather allows him to see the probability of being able to fulfill a task. No one can truly know for sure except Sept himself, but what can be said for sure is that his eyes do grant him some sort of abnormal ability. What is even stranger is the fact that whenever asked where he got his eyes and/or abilities from, he never fails to provide an answer. He has said they come from a witch who granted him the eyes after doing her a favor... but he also once exclaimed they were gems flowing down a river and he just fished them out... then again there was the story of how he simply just woke up from a long nap with them already beneath his eyelids.

xxxxIt can be assumed that Sept is quite the obsessive liar, playfully hiding the truth from whoever seeks it. Whatever their origins may be, it is likely Sept will take the information to his grave. One must wonder though, why does he keep it so secret? Is it possible that what we may see as quite the blessing, might a curse to one such as Sept?
