The sky is dark. The stars are bright.

I fix my eyes on the stars and blink at the emotions flooding over me, overwhelming me. As I stand there, eyes fixed on the stars, I am proud.

Not of myself. What should I be proud of - being alive? No, I am not proud of myself.

Instead, I am proud of my ancestors, of those that have come before me.

What plights they have faced - running from homes where they were unwanted, building a new home for those that should come after. They have lived, and they have died, all for our great clan. All for our survival. They have sacrificed and they have bled. For us. For their clan.

Worst of all, they have watched as those dear to them were ripped away; they have watched suffering and death, unable to stop it, but they have remained strong to guide us on our path. They have remained strong despite the plights they faced - both in life and in death. Such strength is unrivaled.

Perhaps one day I will join them in that strength.

But, for now, I stand here, staring up at the stars, and I am proud.

Pride is a strange thing that strikes at the oddest moments in time. Especially for PetrelBreeze.
It's the small things in life- the prey caught by warriors just trying their best, the small moments of kindness that weren't needed but given none the less. Seeing those little things, proofs that their clan was more than just rogues.
The sight of an apprentice beaming with wide eyes as the show off their first fish, tiny and small but still the beginning of something great. Some would say PetrelBreeze was overly empathetic but seeing those little moments of joy welling in the eyes of her clan-mates, PetrelBreeze couldn't really control herself.

PROMPT, Minnowpaw has never been what the cats of PeachClan would consider "brave." In the face of danger, Minnowpaw would probably turn tail and run faster than you could blink - which leads for a lot of mockery from his fellow apprentices, much to Mothstar's chagrin. However, Minnowpaw doesn't typically let the other apprentices get him down. His pride rests not in himself, but rather, in his peers.

You see, Minnowpaw believes there's good in everyone. Ever the optimist, he can always see the brighter side of things. For every clever insult they throw at him, he admires their wit for being able to think that up. For every time they knock him down, he praises their strength. He'll defend his clan mates with his life - metaphorically speaking, of course.

Minnowpaw takes pride in his fellow apprentices' looks of happiness and love for their clan. After all, they're all one big family - and family sticks together, through thick and thin. No amount of vicious mockery will ever change that. He'd give everything to see his clan mates smile, and inevitably, that is what will lead to his unfortunate downfall - a fall that PeachClan will mourn the loss of for years to come.

Prompt:
For moons, Duke had been afraid of everything; he was born afraid.

He wasn't sure why, but, while his siblings lived freely, he felt as if all he did was a fight. An internal struggle saying, in a small voice- be afraid, be very afraid!

But his fears began to be beaten the day he first saw the rising cliffs a few miles from his home. He'd wandered far that day and gotten lost, but in that one instance he found himself entranced by the beauty of the craggy region, watching as the twigs, leaves and grassed that clung to it danced in the breeze.

He wanted to go up there- but how? The inner voice was telling him to run.

Everyday since he practiced climbing, something he'd been terrified of before. He climbed large boulders, scaled trees and soon found he was good at something! Then he returned and scaled that rocky slope- his fear melted away fully by the time he reached the top, and beheld the majesty of a foggy, beautiful world below.

He is happy to be free of his old fear.

She moved beside the river through the springy, moorland grass. outside of the distant barking of the farmland dogs and the sound of churning water, there was no company for the traveling cat. Moonlily was far from the camp, but she felt a nagging tug in her heart to keep going. It pulled her deeper outside of her clan's borders.

The river led her to a patch of forest that she felt may be connected to the clan's territory. As Moonlily stepped deeper into it, she came upon a clearing. The ground was covered in flowers that glowed an eerie white. The only sound was the small bubbling stream in the heart of the clearing. It ended a few tail lengths in a pool of water. Glancing up through the trees, she could see only the moon. There was no sky. It was as if the trees grew perfectly to capture the moon's beauty. It was enough to take her breath away.

In this place, she felt a strong sense of peace. With a wave of pride, Moonlily realized she found the one place where her clan could meet with their ancestors. She found had found their Starclan meeting grounds.
