No new years resolution for me this year, I'm always too ambitious with them and can't ever follow them. But I did have a good New Years! I was originally scheduled to work New Years Eve night until I realized my manager had messed up something that worked in my favor and allowed me to be off instead. It's a holiday for all of my friends in college and myself and New Year's Eve was the only day most of us ended up off of work. All eight of us were able to go and hang out, something we don't get to do very often since a couple of us go to college in other states and don't always get to come home for breaks. It was lots of fun to have all of us together again and be nerds playing card games together. We ended off the year together and started the new one together, so I'm hoping that it'll set things off for a good year!

Answer: My NYR is a little bit vague, but it's meant to be that way. I'm simply striving to turn myself into a better person over 2019. There's multiple facets to that: lose weight, get my health under control, open myself up more, improve my art, update my characters... I find that I work better with vague "big pictures" and small goals, so instead of these huge plans that if I don't meet strict goals that might disappoint myself, I can say "well, okay I lost ten pounds instead of twenty, so at least there's improvement!" I think in the end, it will work a lot better than what I've tried in the past. As for my New Years', I spent it in Nashville at a Keith Urban concert with my best friend. It was a special New Year, definitely.

My new year's resolution is something simple: Be happy. Dealing with major anxiety most of this year due to stressful situations and overthinking many things caused me to think in a larger picture. Instead of worry about today's events I must simply put my mind to the future and how good things can be. I simply want to get over this anxiety for myself, my son, and my husband.

This idea came from our celebration we had this year, a calm bonfire filled with acoustic guitar music that my brother in law and myself played along with accompanying words to the songs. Bundled up in a blanket sitting on a sled with the cold snow seeping through to numb my bum, it wasn't enough to make me worry as laughter and smiles were seen in the soft light of the fire. Stories being told between songs with a soft backdrop of mindless tabs seeping from the steel strings, our pigs snoring away behind us, the faint sound of coyote's deep within the mountain foliage around us, it was something that one would often consider boring and uneventful but for my troubled mind it was an ease for my soul. Then came the fireworks, which lit up the sky, followed by a relaxing finish to the evening cuddled up with my son and husband, my dog snoring at my feet. This is going to be a wonderful year !
