he's afraid of ghosts and anything supernatural, but he wants to be a paranormal investigator. to help himself get over his fears, billy hunts for various ghosts in different places said to be haunted and tries to capture them on video. the majority of the ones he chooses are harmless just so he won't chicken out or get hurt.

billy is quite the scholar, and he's studied all types of paranormal activity. he knows exactly what he's talking about and what he's getting into. he hasn't ever brought anyone along for his adventures in fear that he'll get anxious and scream at the sight of a ghost. one step at a time.

"what's my irrational fear?"

Donovan has thalassophobia or the irrational fear of the deep ocean.

Well, frankly, he loved the ocean a lot way before. He enjoyed swimming, boating, fishing, and kayaking as a child and teen and went on constant trips to beaches and rivers as he grew up. Donovan's childhood nickname was "Fish" since he had a talent for holding his breath up to 5 minutes underwater as well as being a fast swimmer! Him and his cousins would race down the dock by their grandparent's home and jump off as high and fast as a grasshopper to land in the nearby lake. Donovan loved those summers splashing in cool water in the heat with his cousins. He thought the large bodies of water were a wondrous beauty and a fascinating mystery, however, he changed his mind...

On one particular trip to a popular beach, Donovan went out boat with his dad, his dad's friends, and some of their kids as a teen. They were far from the shore, the sun was high, and the ocean had a beautiful dark blue sparkle to it. Donovan spent some time hanging out inside the boat's cabin before going out to check on his father, he was curious about what they were doing. His dad and his friends caught few fishes, some Donovan never saw before and some he had.
