Epic Tale: It was a cool, dark night in the city of France. Soft winds brushed over the city as it sat in complete silence, as if holding its breath as it waited for something to happen. Nazareth sat, perched on top of the Eiffel Tower, looking down upon the city as if he owned it. He had made this place his home, with the rest of the gargoyles that would sit on beautiful and old cathedrals. Tales were told by the little children of France of how these creatures were wicked and if you weren’t in your house by sunset, that these mischievous beings would swoop out of the sky and snatch you right up!
These were just childish stories that were told to keep the kids from staying out too late. Unknown to humanity though, they were alive. When the moon rises every night, and everyone has gone to sleep, that is when their day begins. Nazareth patiently waited for his kind to flock to him, to cover the Eiffel Tower up and down with these stoned creatures. He had presumably become their “prince,” or king for that matter of fact. Despite being the youngest gargoyle in France, he had been made by Count Dracula himself, or famously known as the devil’s son. He bore the fangs of the man and had looks that resembled him. It’s even said that the vampire gave him some ungodly powers that shine through his eyes. Nazareth never understood why it was him that was chosen to lead these majestic creatures of the night, but he had accepted his role.
Suddenly, loud cries filled the skies. The moon suddenly vanished as a very large crowd of gargoyles flocked to the Tower, like moths that gather around a light. Nazareth watched as they all flew to the tower and stuck on there, gossiping loudly with each other as they waited for their leader to finally speak. Nazareth waited a few minutes for everyone to arrive, and then he let out one long, loud shriek that could shatter glass. The gargoyles instantly went quiet and every pair of eyes were laid upon him.
Nazareth looked down upon his peers. “Fellow creatures of the night,” he started to address them. “Tonight, is a very special night. We will start to follow the Prophecy that Dracula has engraved into my mind...” He paused dramatically and looked at them before continuing. “We will make a stand as gargoyles, and we will break into EVERY store where our fellow comrades are imprisoned at, and we will release them!” The gargoyles started to yell in excitement, and Nazareth grinned at his companions. “Tonight, we will make history and will start a revolution!” At this point, the gargoyles were going crazy. “Come my fellow companions and let us ride off into the night.” Nazareth opened his large wings, gave out a cry in command, and dropped down from the Tower as the large flock followed close behind him.
