Name ;; Namiyo
Gender ;; Male
Sexuality ;; Pansexual
Zodiac ;; Pisces
Personality ;;
The young idealist. Namiyo always believes in the good in others, and would do just about anything to try and make the world a better place - no matter if that's forcing someone to stop the car so he can help a turtle cross the road or baking cookies for neighbors. When he was younger his dream was to be a superhero who could simply save the world, but as he grew older and realized it was a dream that would never come true, he changed his mind. Instead, he'd be a doctor so he could help as many other kalons as possible. He's very innocent and naive still when it comes to many things in life, and is often devastated when something bad happens. However, he always springs back from disaster just as peppy and sweet as ever. When he gets his mind stuck on something, there's no turning him away from it - he's incredibly stubborn in following the path he thinks he needs to follow. He's loyal to a fault and an amazing friend, even if he doesn't realize a lot of them are keeping him around just for what he'll do for them.

Theme Song;;
New Soul by Yael Naim
“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.”
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
Strange Hobbies;;
Namiyo might not think that anything he does is all that strange, but other people tend to think differently. Due to his "save the world" compex, for instance, he often ends up bringing animals of all shapes and sizes home to care for. No matter if it's a stray cat, a dog that got hit by a car, or a goldfish that a store was just keeping in nasty water, Namiyo can't stand to leave them behind to suffer. He'll do whatever he can even if he doesn't really know much about that kind of animal - he's even scooped caterpillars off of the sidewalk to carry around all day (or at least until he finds a nice, leafy spot) just so no one steps on them. It's odd to encounter him without at least one hanger-on with a tragic backstory.
He also tends to be humming most of the time, although it's hard to tell if he knows that he's doing it. It seems like as soon as a song starts playing, if he knows it, he needs to hum along to it. Even if he doesn't know it he'll try to learn by the end of the song. Some find this annoying, others find it endearing. It's hard to tell who will think what, but Namiyo couldn't change his ways easily enough to please them all anyway.
Pet;;
Despite the revolving door of animals that Namiyo constantly has around, there's one that has become a permanent fixture in his life. A feisty (or perhaps more aptly called "grumpy") dumbo betta fish that he affectionately dubbed "Fins". He purchased him when Fins was just a tiny fry, a dull brown color, but with constant care he became a rather lovely fish of striking red. His five gallon tank (decorated carefully with silk plants and places for him to hide) sits on Namiyo's desk so Fins can keep him company while he studies and distract him if Namiyo gets too stressed out. After all, it's hard work trying to become a doctor!
Relationships;;
Yamadori A.K.A. Mom -
For Namiyo, his mother has definitely been the one who makes him feel safe and protected. Despite not always being the most outwardly happy kalon or sharing the same interests as her son, she was the one who made him able to accept many things about himself - like the fact that he isn't straight, and that's okay. When he was younger he would frequently attempt to find new kalons for his mother to be friends with, but as he's grown older he's seen the error in his naive, innocent logic. Now, he relies on his mother to help guide him and motivate him on the hard path of becoming a doctor.
Daisuke A.K.A. Dad -
It's not hard to tell that Namiyo idolizes his father, and shares many things in common with him, having definitely picked up his father's ways of helping as a very young child. Ironically, he wanted to become a doctor before he fully understood what his father's job at the school actually was, but learning only made him more determined to succeed. Namiyo loves watching how hard his father works to make his mother happy and it makes him hope he can have a similar relationship when he grows older.
Masago A.K.A. Sis -
Oddly enough, while the two get along well, Namiyo has never been extremely close to his sister. Perhaps it's simply because he's always so busy trying to help someone else out, or studying, or playing with one of his new pets, but the two don't seem to spend much time together. However, that doesn't stop him from speaking well of her to everyone he meets, and attempting to help her out as well whenever he has the skills to actually do so. She's his sister, after all, and that means they're stuck together for life (even if they do have the occasional spat as only young siblings can)!
Secrets;;
~ Has a pinecone collection both because he thinks they smell good, and just because he thinks they're cool for being such a small thing able to make an enormous tree! He hides it from others since he thinks they'll find this strange.
~ Is terrified of tarantulas and other spiders. He hates this as it's kind of hypocritical to wanting to help all animals, but really can't change the way he feels about them.
~ Had an embarrassing crush on a babysitter when he was younger because he thought she was really pretty.
~ Has a slight obsession with any drama shows that involve doctors or medicine aspects, stopped telling others about this when they started teasing him for liking "girly" shows and now only watches them alone at night in his room when he needs a pick-me-up after a hard day.
Fun Facts;;
~ If he were to attend Hogwarts, he would be sorted into Gryffindor, and his pet would probably be a barn owl.
~ His favorite Pokemon would be Milotic (reminds him of Fins).
~ If he wasn't trying to become a doctor, he would definitely go into training to become a police officer.
~ He's actually ridiculously good at cleaning, and usually does a lot of the housework while listening to music simply because he enjoys it!
Short Story;;
Namiyo moved carefully over the uneven ground, watching each step he had to take as he precariously balanced a ceramic plate topped with piping-hot chocolate chip cookies in one clenched paw. The plate shivered from his death grip, but he had only one mission and he was determined to succeed. The elderly neighbors would receive the sweets he and his mother had hand-crafted in one piece no matter what he had to do. It was only across the narrow road after all, hardly a journey - and probably why his mother had agreed in the first place to let the small kalon go all by himself, just a little sliver of independence. He wouldn't let her down!
Each pebble or stick that turned under his paws made him shiver as he imagined himself tripping in the most embarrassing way, how the other young kits of the neighborhood would turn up to laugh at him splayed out on the grass with the cookies scattered like sad confetti around him. He gently shook his head to clear that thought from his mind and smiled instead as he thought of how delighted the cute old lady would be when she opened the door.
Crossing the road was just another obstacle - Namiyo could have sworn he'd never seen the side street so busy before. When had all these cars gotten here?!? He shuffled awkwardly on his feet as he waited for a gap in traffic, knowing his mother would scold him if he simply tried to dart in between the swiftly moving cars. It was tempting to get there before the cookies could cool, but his parents had taught him better than to run into danger like that. Still, he couldn't help being a little annoyed about it.
As if she had sensed him coming, the neighbor Namiyo had his sights set on suddenly opened the front door and strolled onto the porch, waving serenely at him. His scowl vanished as he smiled and waved back, nearly forgetting all about the cookies. Thankfully he grabbed the plate before it could tip, a little meeker than before.
Just a few more steps, and there he was, stepping carefully up to the front porch where the older kalon was waiting patiently for him to arrive. He held out the plate. "My mom and I made these for you," He told her in as saccharine a voice as he could manage at his age. Her eyes lit up and he immediately felt the rush pass over him of doing something that he felt like he should be doing - something to help others out, even if it was as silly and trivial as a plate of cookies to a pair of older kalons who didn't have anyone to look after them and help them out.
"How sweet of you!" She gratefully crowed as she took them, Namiyo watching as her partner shuffled slowly behind her, probably headed for the TV. Every time he came the old man seemed to be involved in some game show like it was too interesting to miss.
Namiyo nodded. "I hope you have a nice day!" He couldn't forget his manners but suddenly found himself eager to be off, back to his favorite video games and snacks, where he could hide away in the air conditioning of his bedroom rather than out in the hot sun. His elder smiled knowingly and nodded, waving as he bounded off the porch in one swift hop.
"Be careful, little one!" Her call followed him as he once again navigated the dangerous road.
On the other side, his mother was waiting for him. She wasn't smiling, but Namiyo had grown accustomed to seeing the smile that hid in her eyes, making them twinkle softly. She patted him gently on the head and gave him a look of approval that filled him with warmth. "Good job." Even just those two words were enough for him, and a grin spread from ear to ear as he headed to his bedroom, filled with childish pride.
