Jekyll
Way of Life
Jekyll was raised with one rule from his family, and it is the only rule he follows. His mother always told him, "There's only one law in this world, and that's the law of nature. Not those silly things everyone talks about- it's as simple as this: As long as you're surviving, you're doing it right."
Jekyll took these words to heart. He adored his mom, even as she left him as soon as he was old enough to take care of himself- in fact, he was thankful for it. She never made any pretense of planning to stay- after all, she herself lived by those rules of nature, and it's quite common for mothers to leave their children.
Since then, he has lived the same way. He took this to mean what he can take, he can have, and became quite a good thief and scavenger, never getting caught. Well, in the beginning he got caught quite a few times- faced with a larger predator, he learned his lesson quickly. When you get caught, you must face the consequences, and in a land of beasts these lessons can be incredibly painful. Of course, this didn't dissuade him from taking what others had. It only made him strive to be better at pilfering and pickpocketing without being caught.
He causes chaos in abundance, because "as long as I don't get caught, why not? It's fun." Following only the rule of "living is succeeding," he really has a... unique... set of morals. If he accepts you into his pack, of course, he will absolutely treasure you, but that honor is saved for only some. When it comes to the general masses, he doesn't care much at all. He often slowly destroys settlements, simply because he can, and thinks that if they are able to catch him, he deserves whatever punishment he's given. He lives like a lion- he is the king, slowly gathering his pride, and if he wants something? He'll get it, or he'll die trying.
closest companion
Jekyll has one companion like no other- a jackal called Hyde. Hyde is a lithe, fearless thing with a red-gold coat, intense black and white cloak that reaches to his face, and white outlines around his eyes. They met at night- Jekyll stumbled upon the pup, abandoned, fearlessly snarling protectively above a- judging by the pup's ragged appearance- hardcaught meal. He was immediately taken with the little thing, and took Hyde under his wing. Although the pup was mistrustful at first, he soon began to look up to Jekyll. Whereas before he was a king with no pride, once Hyde joined him, he became a true king. They became a perfect team, Jekyll causing large damage while Hyde caused mischief from below. With only the law of survival and the pack, or pride bonds to bind them, they truly make an unbeatable team. Although they likely won't be the only ones in Jekyll's pack, they will always have a strong bond like no other, as though they are truly brothers. They travel together to this day, leaving a trail of chaos in their wake as they happily do whatever they might desire.
