They risk extinction because of invasive species seriously injuring their populations, and the public has been urged to help out with research and to help house these creatures so they don't disappear. What is their favourite place to be?: Lutum's favorite place do be is in the medows. Streaking through the tall cornfields, lying on the grass staring up at the vibrant blue sky, and picking flowers, it was one of the places Lutum went with their family as often as possible. Lutum loves the smell of the small, yellow flowers there, and has many good memories associated with that place.

what is their favourite place to be?:
each and every individual has places that are rich with memories—some of them are happy, and some not quite so.
calla has many herself; she loves her hometown where she'd grown up in, the fields and meadows she'd adored as
a child, and the local library near her home which she visits on her off-days, where within the homely structure she
sits and listens to the rustling of pages and hushed whispers of knowledge fill the air. she doesn't quite like the
stream she'd fallen into as a child, nor the measly kids' playground near her home (which is honestly too small and
has swing sets too tiny for her to use), nor the house of their neighbour opposite, really; he's slightly intimidating
and a little too loud and complain-y for her liking, but she tries to be nice to him, anyway.

but to each and every individual there is always one place that has the most laughter, the most love, the most
warmth, and to calla, that is her mum's kitchen. it's her favourite place to be. everything she associates with it is
lovely, like her mum's tinkly laughter when she'd first taught calla to bake, and calla had tipped the whole bowl of
flour over herself; to her pa's almost-theatrical hushing at her whenever they snuck pastries from mum's stash past
midnight to watch their favourite movie together; to the wonderful, familiar smell of fresh bread baking in their
oven, just like how mum had shown her when she was a child.

she bakes in her mum's kitchen plenty, in fact, it's a habit she'd maintained over the years, which had slowly grown
into a hobby, and then a passion of hers. it's a great way to make use of her time, really—the process of learning
how to make different pastries is fresh and new regardless of the recipe, and each end result is good enough, even
if it's not fantastic, to make her mum and pa beam with delight every time they taste her new creations. it warms
her heart every time; the baking process, as well as the end result.

it's all so familiar to her, baking in this cluttered little kitchen; it's such a huge part of her life that she doesn't quite
know what she'd do if she hadn't first started off baking here. and so, calla will continue to hold her mum's kitchen
as the place most dear to her heart, for the countless memories and endless joy it has brought her over the years,
and will doubtlessly bring her for many more to come. [434/1000 words]
