Show Name: GSS Mother Nature's Guardian
Barn Name: Jöðurr
Art/Story: Headshot paintingHis blindness is hereditary (from his fathers side), he was able to see when he was young but as he got older he slowly began to lose his sight which was quite a stressful ordeal for him. Eventually though he got used to being blind and is able to get around without a guide. He acts just like any other horse and some people who see him dont actually think he is blind until they're told that he is!
Jöðurr or Joddy to some, is always found near foliage, today he is in the tall grasses and wild flower meadows on the outskirts of the herd. He adores nature and loves listening to the birds and the bees as they chirp and buzz around him. His companion pony, Shelter (a shetland pony), follows him everywhere and helps to alert him to any danger that he cannot see himself. However, Shelter is too small to see over the tall grass and has to stay further away when Joddy is out there. It gives Jöðurr a fews moments of peace to himself, well worth the risk and actually quite calming for him as he listens to the birds create music with their voices.

A herd of bachelors stomped across the dry sand of the Paralia Beaches as the rainy season was just coming to an end, and right on time they trampled everything in their path. As the critters from the sea hide, the equines of the area come out for celebration. The top stallion guides them into a barrier of leaves and flowers, jumping through into the dark and ever mysterious side of the forest. His tan hooves leave dents in the soft ground as the rain begins to plunge toward the earth. The liquid strikes his frame and it drives his soul wild- they call him Ourea. The aroma from the ground and oils of plants creates an increase of momentum from the stallions, while they strive for the center of the forest, where a divine lagoon is hidden.
During his moments of childhood, Ourea had always been a top colt and was a chosen as a heir to the equines of Chersali- a spirited herd of wild horses who roam the hidden celestial forest, Chersali. This location has never been touched or disturbed by mankind, and it is meant to stay that way. This small herd is a mixture of Rajarshi Draft and an ancient horse breed from Greece, but many locals believe Ourea is pure Rajarshi, physically creating a different from the other horses- his height and build- and a mental difference even more- more determination and has an easy way of connecting with the environment. It also lets him have a good relationship with the mares, but he’s not interested in that.
Jumping over fallen trees and the quicksand that leaves no victims, a short and stocky palomino stallion quickens his speed to pass Ourea and is the first to dive into the shimmering waters of the lagoon. Ourea slows done to get a full view of the area and is mesmerized. His best friend stops next to him: slim, tall frame, and a dirty coat that was once a silver color with pomegranate eyes that could persuade anyone. Arrogant as ever he tells Ourea, “why are you stopped? Oh youre waiting for me right? Me, the top stal-”
Ourea hip bumps him some feet over and cuts off his sentence. “I was just making sure your granny legs didn’t need any help getting in the water,” he shouts as his friend rushes into the lagoon.
Watching everyone swimming and celebrating, a flash of light catches the slightest bit of his eyes and captures his attention. As if in a trance, his body begins to slowly move toward the area. No path or anything to tell him where to go, he keeps walking in the direction it came, not thinking twice about the other horses. Ourea can tell he is getting closer: the light is constantly beaming and bolt every which way. The light heads straight for him and hits him in the shoulder, leaving him in pain, but he continues. Finally, he knows where he is at: a mountainous temple capped in vibrant shades of green. Wild flowers surround the aged rock and grow towards the top, reaching for the sky. His herd comes to this sacred ground to give thanks to the gods that protect their future from mankind- while unknown, they fear the worst.
But what is highly unusual is lying at the foot of the temple. Not being able to make out the figure, Ourea keeps his distance; growing wearier, his curiosity is intensifying. Like rays of light, tints of yellow and orange beam up like bolts of lightning, but slowly moving out of the canopy of Man’nko trees. Once the ball of light stands up, he is in the shape of a horse and his light has waned. Able to see his features without shielding his eyes, Ourea studies the odd creature before he makes a noise, but watching him more and more, his pulse quickens, and he still isn’t afraid. It looks like a stallion, about the same size as Ourea, with glittery skin and it intensifies toward and around his eyes. It must be the most beautiful and majestic thing Ourea has ever seen.
When he finally tries to speak, nothing comes out of Oureas mouth and becomes highly confused- nothing like this has ever happened to him before. He tries again but instead of words, it’s a noise and the creature hears it. Both startled, the stallion and soul of light lock eyes. The figure begins galloping towards Ourea, but he doesn’t move. Before he can make contact with Oureas body, a flash of sparkling light sprays out in every direction. The unusual equine of sun light is gone without a trace.
Unfortunately, Ourea works his way back to the beach; he’s questioning: was that all real, should I tell someone in the herd, am I going crazy?
The rest of the bachelors are trotting back to the rest of the herd. As Ourea is once again meeted with his best friend, his vision begins to get blurry and cant see his hooves anymore, he cant see anything anymore. He can only see his memories now.
