"Vanilla? I have a question."
The darker bovine turned, holding the small plate of cow cookies in her teeth, and giving a questioning look before putting down the pastries. She didn't speak, but her eyes said all that she had to say. Caramel paused for a moment, not wanting to say it right away.
"Do you regret adopting me?"

Almost immediately, the other heifer rushed over, quickly going to bonk her head on the other affectionately. "Of course not, sugarcube! In fact, you might be one of the children I'm proud of the most!" Caramel smiled, softly bonking her mother figure's head in return. Before the brown and white heifer could even get another word out, Vanilla was continuing to talk, making her way back to the other side of the small table that she had in her stable. "Heck, lil' one. You know that me takin' care of kids like you is what kept me kickin' back when I was a younger heifer! Why would you ever think that I'd regret takin' you in?"

The smile on Caramel seemed to dim at the question, not knowing how to answer, or if she even wanted to answer. She didn't want her momma to be upset about her answer, and with the cold setting in from the Autumn breeze outside, she didn't want to say the truth due to how her mother tends to faint easier in the cold. However, she couldn't just lie to her. That was just wrong, she learned that when she was young!

"Momma... I just thought that you'd start to hate me because I wasn't bein' too smart. I always do things wrong around here, and I'm makin' people mad because of it. I thought you'd be mad at me too, or worse yet- embarrassed with me! I'm sorry that I thought that momma, I just got worried about it like I always do."

Caramel expected the noise of quick shuffling, or the sound of a gasp, or the sound of yelling, or... something. Vanilla stayed quiet for a moment, and put one of her hooves up to her chest, looking away with some kind of shame. However, the shame wasn't in Caramel... it was in herself.

"Caramel, sweetheart. I know how you feel. I used to be like that when I first arrived here. I thought that I was some kind of stupid, and I thought that good ol' Farmer Vid would regret rescuing me from that horrible farm. He never did, though. He always thought the things that I thought were stupid were... quirks that made me who I was as a living being. Like I'd ever say that you ain't able to have quirks that you think make you stupid. I love you, Cara. You're my lil' angel."

Caramel started to tear up, trying her best to move over to Vanilla and squish her face up to the other heifer. Tears continued to roll down her as she spoke.

"I love you, Momma."

The truck rattled down the gravel driveway. A small brown and white calf sat in the very back corner of the trailer. Small slits of light coming through the windows woke her. She mooed softly, her voice weak. The distinct smell of lemons wafted into the box. She smiled and sniffed in, her eyes wide. The jingles of bells could be heard from outside as the farm’s cows walked around. The calf was confused as to where she was in the world that smelled so sweet and had other cows. She just wanted to be able to see.

Small yellow and white petals flew into the trailer. They swirled in patterns, tickling the calf’s cheeks and making her giggle. She tried standing up to touch the other leaves but the truck stopped suddenly and in turn the trailer made her fall on her face. She yelped. Her legs were tangled under her and her head ached from the fall. She was about to try and stand again, though, when the back door to the trailer opened. A wall of light blasted into the small area. The calf blinked and mooed, worried. A man held out a tan rope and gestured for her to come over. She shook her head and stood still. She didn’t know what was out there, it could be terrible, scary things.

But then a small heifer with brown spots came over the trailer opening. The heifer was gentle as she called to the calf.

“Oh little one, please come out. I promise it’s not scary.”

All the calf wanted was someone to hide behind. She missed her mother and felt the need to run. So she moved out of the trailer and right past the man with the lead. She pressed herself firmly to the cow’s side, refusing to move. The older cow giggled and walked over to a lemon tree, laying under it.

“Hello baby doll, my name is Tuli, do you have a name?” The calf shook her small head, “Well then how about I tell you some stories and then we can pick a name for you?”

The calf nodded without budging from Tuli’s side. She sat next to the heifer and listened to the stories she told. The cow talked about her life as a calf, and how she had been just as scared to come to a new farm, though she learned to love Limoncello Grove dearly. She explained how a heifer that had now passed named Lucy had comforted her when she came to LCG. Lucy had given her the name Tuli.

“And, my dear, it is my turn to name you now.” She paused, thinking, “You will be called Kit after the little cute kitten that lived at my calfhood barn.”

She looked down, “Do you like your name, little one? You seemed to love to hear about Charles the black kitten.” Kit smiled and snuggled even closer, nodding. She loved the name and she really loved Limoncello Grove. {500/500}

Name: Peony
Gender: Heifer
Collar Color: Matching eyes <3

Prompt:
This girl's favorite memory was her first time seeing the world as a small calf, and seeing her namesake for the first time. With her mother, a sweet and gentle heifer, guiding her out the old wooden doors which had been the edge of her world since her eyes had first opened. Even before she was out the door, a gust of crisp, sweet spring wind caressed her tiny ears, and she was even more unsteady on her hooves then usual due to this excitement. One step, two steps, three steps, another step, her hoof had reached the soft soil of her pasture. The plush grass tickled her ankles, she was ecstatic. She looked up to the sky, which was as blue as the baby blue collar that her mother wore, and had been wearing since Peony first saw her. Then, there it was, the sun. She looked directly at it, then squinted and hopped back in shock. The large, golden orb in the sky, which she had merely seen glimpses of through cracks in the barn, confused her. It was full of kindness as it hugged her with its warmth, yet was full of rage as it hit her eyes, causing a brief bit of pain. She continued exploring, sometimes falling over as she got overexcited, or surprised when something moved or made a sound. Then, there they were, her namesake, a patch a peonies happily growing from the grass, not a care in the world. "What are those, mother?" she asked in curiosity. "Those are peonies," she glanced down at her calf with the kindness of her heart beaming in her eyes, "your namesake, my dear". Peony was filled with excitement as she stared at the flowers, and nuzzled their soft pink petals, snorting and shaking her head as they tickled her soft, fuzzy mouth. "They smell nice, mother, and they'e soft as well. I think you've chosen a great name for me. I can't wait to tell the other calves". Her mother smiled and nodded, though Peony could see the wariness in her eyes. "I can go play with them, right?" She questioned the heifer as she watched the other calves run and flail about. "It seems dangerous, honey, I'm not sure". "Please?" Peony looked at her with large, pleading eyes, which no heifer could ever resist when seen adorned on the face of a small calf such as herself. Her mother finally nodded, "Go play, but be safe my love". Peony merely nodded as she trotted off to the other calves. They dashed by her, "Come join!", the other calves playfully called to her. She ran after them and their storm of pure fun and wildness picked her up as if they were a tornado grasping merely a bench on a stormy day. Her mother glanced at the patch of peonies with memory and love in her eyes, and watched Peony play, with nothing but pride. (490 words)

Ahh we're going to miss you so much juice! You did an incredible job designing, I hope to see some more of your cute moos in the future <3

Name: Eucalyptus, "Yuki"
Gender: Heifer
Collar Color:
silver bell. very light green gradient, maybe a base color similar to this or this, with lil eucalyptus leaf patterns in white if possible?? if the pattern isn't possible that's 100% fine, though, the green gradient will work perfectly !! or maybe a gradient of the lighter color and darker color in her eyes?? whatever you think looks best tbh as long as the bell is silver !! <:
Prompt:
A long line of cattle trailed behind one another, each tied together to the one in front of them with rope. At the end of this line was a small brown and white calf, eyes darting around wildly. She had never been away from her home before, but her herd had assured her that this change was a good one. Still, the young calf was incredibly afraid of going somewhere new.

The group of cattle was led through the open, outdoors marketplace carefully. It was a poor area and some of the inhabitants may be likely to attempt to steal one of the cows. After all, many of them had little to no money to buy food and families were starving. Once they were safely away from the marketplace, the cows were led out into a more open, barren area where a large, and very strange, metal object was waiting.

"An airplane is what they call them, Yuki," her mother offered.

Airplane. That word sent a shiver down Yuki's spine, but she had no choice but to follow the rest of her herd into the strange airplane. Then came he waiting. It seemed to her like she'd spent half her live in that weird metal thing, just waiting to finally be let out.

When the time came and they were let out, though, Yuki was unsure. What was that spongy green stuff on the ground? What were those little white things sprouting up? And what was that delicious smell? It didn't take long before the ropes were cut from them and they were turned free, further confusing Yuki. She had spent her entire life in a metal barn filled to the brim with other cows.

    ---

Yuki and her family lived in a meat factory which was shut down due to poor conditions. They were rescued and brought to Elderberry Creek via an airplane.

Name: Azalea
Gender: Heifer
Collar Color: Pink, like the eyes.

Prompt: Azalea will never forget the moment when she was able to go outside for the first time in her life. Yes, it was when she was just a calf, but it was something too dear to her not to remember or look back upon it. That first time Azalea went outside, she was surprised by rows and rows of beautiful flowers just in her view in that pasture where all the other Buttermilk cows grazed. All of those flowers were right at her hoof-step. She would never forget looking up at her mother with the biggest smile on her face when she saw the wonderful sight of all of those flowers. In fact, the way the sun was shining down on them made them even more beautiful because it looked like they were just shining forever with the sun's rays. In fact, it prompted her to ask if she were ever to go outside to play in the flowers.

"Mother, can I go play out in those beautiful flowers?" Azalea asked one day. Her mother, only looked at her daughter and gave off a small chuckle, shaking her head. "My dear Azalea," she began. "As much as I want to say yes, you know you can't get out through the pasture's fence. You are growing bigger and bigger each day, and can not squeeze through it. Not to mention, if you were to fit, it would be too dangerous for you to wander off alone." Upon hearing her mother's words, Azalea was slightly disappointed with her mother's response about why she wasn't able to see the flower's up close, but knew she had a point. So instead, Azalea cuddled up against her mother for a few seconds, then looking up at her. "Then I have another proposal!" Azalea said with another smile on her face. "Can we rise early every morning and watch the sun rise over the flowers and make them as shiny an beautiful as they are now?" To Azalea's mother, this was a much more reasonable thing to do, so this time she nodded to her daughter's request. "Yes, I believe that would be a wonderful idea." Her mother replied. "We will start watching the sun rise over the flowers each morning just for you."

So that next morning, her mother did as promised and woke her calf up early so that the two may watch the sunrising over the flowers and making them shine and be as beautiful as ever. The two walked outside and laid on the ground by the pasture fence to view the large field of flowers that were a large variety of different colors. Azalea leaned up against her mother, her eye's almost glimmering with delight as the scene of the sun starting to rise began. It was a slow process, but it was beautiful, never the less. Soon enough, row after row, the flowers in the field were all shining once again thanks to the sun's rays. "I'll remember this forever." [500/500]
