Yup, you heard right. Never. Not a fever, not a stomache bug. Not the flu, not even a common cold. Why? The doctors shrug and say I have a strong immune system. Maybe that's what they think, but I am convinced it's something more.

Nox has prosopagnosia, a cognitive disorder also called "face blindness".
Since his birth, Nox never was able to recognize his or other people's faces. It doesn't mean that he can't see the face : eyes colors, hair color, nose, mouth, freckles... he can see them. But his brain is incapable to put a name on each face.
Because of that, other Kalons, who are unaware of his problem and just met him, often think he is absentminded, if not simply rude : making friends always had be a hard task for the young Kalon, who never was surrounded by the most open-minded people.

That's why Nox started to associate names to voices instead of faces, and is now capable to recognize his family and closest friends, as long as they are not leaving him confused when they are trying to imitate someone else's voice.
It is not easy every day, but Nox can manage it most of the time.

Since Nebula was a kit, she'd always adored the stars. Every night she'd find some way to get to them, whether it be climbing a tree so she could see the sky, or finding a nice meadow to lay in and stargaze. Sometimes Nebula would find a pond or a lake, and she'd float on her back in the star-kissed water. It felt as if she were floating in the galaxies- as if she and the universe were one. And for that small amount of time, they were. Nebula eventually began charting the stars, drawing patterns in the ground with sticks and using every ounce of brainpower she could to determine where they would be the next night. With every new constellation she found, it was like finding a new part of herself. Nebula knows something amazing is waiting, and that one day it'll be her turn to be a star. Her turn to shine bright, offering up purpose and wonder to another lonesome dreamer aching for the cosmos.

It was always there. Just under the surface, bubbling and waiting. When you’re young, you don’t understand things like that; it’s hard to distinguish the thing that sets you apart from the rest. But he always saw the colours. From the moment that his eyes opened, Coeus could see the array of energies dancing around the bodies of his friends, his family, even complete strangers walking down the street. It was hard to know this wasn’t normal.

He was ten when he first learned what they were called: auras. He was then thirteen when he learned how to read them, learned the colours and how they spliced together, the size and the movement of the colour stream and how it all added up to something about the kalon that he was looking at. At times it was hard- he wished to give people benefit of the doubt, but murky green auras always tinted the way that he perceived others perceiving him.

Was it worse to know the true nature of people? A ‘gift’ people said to him, again and again and again; they wanted to see what he could, but he wasn’t sure that was true. Some days he wished he could turn it off, wished that he could stop seeing so much. Some days, when he woke up, and surveyed himself in the mirror, he would close his eyes and hope it went away. It was always the same: a pulsing bright, royal blue with streams of turquoise weaved through it. He would shut his eyes. But every time he opened them, the colour remained the same, and he would turn away, not bothering to check behind him to witness the murky blue creeping up his tail and along his spine to engulf the rest of his aura whole, swallowing it into a near-black night.

Coeus is an empath of a specific kind: the kind that can see auras. ‘Auras’ in this sense relate to an electromagnetic field of energy that surrounds a kalon’s body. Different coloured auras mean different things about a kalon’s personality and their inner thoughts. As Coeus can see these colours, he often feels invasive as he knows more about others than they choose to tell him. Although he can’t tell specifics of their life, he can get a general idea about their personality, though he doesn’t use this to judge character as he often doubts his abilities. In reality, he is terrified of them and their potential, and oftentimes he tries to use rational judgement instead of relying on them. He tends to be very reluctant to speak about his abilities, or to even mention he has them to strangers. Due to this, his own aura is often overtaken by murky blue. The meaning of his aura is as follows:
Royal Blue – clairvoyant, generous.
Turquoise – sensitive, a healer
Murky Blue – fear of self-expression, or facing the truth.
