HIFECs (standing for Highly Intelligent Four Eyed Cats) are a species
that was recently created by Henry McLyre, a mediocre scientist who
is a country vet on the side. He was trying to see if he could get cats
to be able to survive tougher conditions (as his pets kept catching
hypothermia) when he accidentally dropped one of his hairs into the
cat DNA before he finished the project. The resulting animal was a
fascinating cat breed with a furry 'mohawk' on its head, four eyes, and
most remarkable of all, the ability to speak and understand human
language. Henry had to go to great pains to keep his discovery hidden
until he was ready. Unfortunately, word got out when his new companion,
a Hifec named Casper, posted a video of her playing the piano. The video
went viral (sadly, not due to her beautiful cover of Lost Boy by
Ruth B., but because nobody had seen anything like her before), and
Henry and Casper were put on the news worldwide. Henry dislikes being
questioned about his accidental creation, but maybe, just maybe, if you
step lightly and use your manners, Henry might give you a Hifec of your
own.
