- ryugi dragons are a recently discovered species. they are somewhere between reptile and mammal, giving life birth but also being cold-blooded. they have to raise their body temperature from outside sources, be it basking in the sun or laying on something warm, like a warmed up rock. this is also the reason as to why ryugis are only seen in cold areas in very rare cases.
they are omnivorous and can digest most food humans eat as well, aside from very spiced dishes. if you give them a warm place to cuddle up in they are very easy to care for!
please read the information below before you join the fun!
══════════════════════════════
what is this species about?
- ryugis are all about exploring and playing with your ryugi so it gains levels and traits (line edits). this means that most ryugis start off with no traits or very few. traits are gained when you find certain items during events, adventures, the claw machine etc. please do note that, while participating in those activites, your chances of getting great items will be higher, but you don't have to take part in any of them at all! if you just want to develop your ryugis outside of the species' activites that is perfectly fine as well!
══════════════════════════════
rules & guidelines (general)
- 1) all of Tess' rules apply, naturally!
2) you may not trade your ryugi(s) for anything other than directly ryugi-related stuff. this means you may only trade ryugis for ryugis, ryugis for ryugi items of any kind, ryugis for ryugi-currency. please read the rules of the trading forum before you decide to trade your ryugis!
3) claiming another person's ryugi as your own is not okay!
4) ryugis are a closed species, which means you may not make your own!
5) tranfers in and out of the species have to be discussed with the owner first!
6) you do not have to take part in any species activities if you don't want to.
7) ryugi dragons may be drawn in feral, anthro and human form. they may not be drawn as- or featuring parts of a different species or animal. Exceptions are if the parts are removable, if they wear a removable costume, if they have the chimera gene or if it is part of a prompt.
8) if you are visiting another ryugi based thread of any kind please make sure you properly read it's rules and guidelines as they may give you important information that is not being mentioned here.
9) please do not mini-mod on any official ryugi dragons thread! however, you may report a user to a ryugi mod if any of our species rules are being violated. if any of chickensmoothies rules are being violated, please report the user(s) in question to an official chickensmoothie moderator!
10) you may not edit your ryugi's reference picture. you may color this picture in to make a separate picture where you can add accessoires, though. editing the lines of your ryugi without the proof that you own the appropriate item(s) and without proof of a ryugi mod's permission is strictly prohibited!
11) you must always have an updated level, gender, breeding slots and edit list on your ryugi's official reference page.
12) due to the amount of work it would be to keep track of everyone's items you need to keep track of them yourself! this means you should save a link to the post you obtained the item in, for each individual item! if you cannot show us prove that you own an item then you sadly may not use it until you got that prove. you do not have to keep track of your currency or of treasure items, as they will automatically be sold.
13) items can only be used once!
rules & guidelines (moderators)
- 1) moderators have the right to give strikes to a user if they break a rule. however, they do not always have to give strikes for a broken rule, if they feel like the rule was broken on accident.
2) cases including rudeness or harassment should always be punished with a strike!
3) if a user has been given a strike they should inform the owner, Hinode through PM.
4) if a moderator feels like a user should be banned from this species they can PM the owner about the matter.
5) moderators may NOT ban a user from this species!
6) the general rules apply to moderators as well.
7) moderators may not create ryugis unless they are also hired artists!
8) as a reward for their services moderators will receive one rare MYO every 1st of a month, after they served the ryugi community for at least 25 days
rules & guidelines (artists)
- 1) the general rules apply to artists as well.
2) artists may create ryugis anywhere in the 1-25 level range. after 10 created ryugis they may create a ryugi in the 26-45 level range.
3) artists should make sure to follow the edit level guide at the bottom of this post.
4) if an artist wishes to create a high level ryugi because of a special occasion they may PM the owner and ask for permission.
5) there is no limit to how many ryugis an artist may make, however, they should make at least one ryugi every 10 days.
6) on the adoption page of a ryugi, the artist should always post the level and an edit list of the ryugi.
7) artists may not create nursery batches, unless they are also hired nursery artists.
8) as a reward for their services, artists will receive one rare MYO every 1st of a month, after they created at least 10 ryugi dragons. in the months of march, june, august and december they will receive a very rare MYO instead of a rare MYO.
rules & guidelines (nursery artists)
- 1) nursery artists may not create regular ryugi adopts, unless they are also a hired artist.
2) while nursery artists may choose tickets by personal preference, I kindly ask them to take a look at tickets with a high post count as well.
3) each batch should have a cover and the pups should each have a separate reference post below the cover.
4) nursery artists should be familiar with how the ryugi breeding system works.
5) all pups have to be level 1, regardless of their inherited edits.
6) all batches should be finished within 30 days after a ticket has been accepted.
7) as a reward for their services, nursery artists will receive one rare MYO every 1st of a month, after they created at least 3 batches. in the months of march, august and december they will receive a very rare MYO instead of a rare MYO.
rules & guidelines (game managers)
- 1) the general rules apply to them as well.
2) they may not moderate the species or create regular ryugis.
3) they receive insight to how the games and activities work and they may not publish this knformation to anyone!
4) they may make suggestions on how to improve the game systems.
5) as a reward for their services, game managers will receive one rare MYO every first of a month. in the months of march, august and december they will receive a very rare MYO instead of a rare MYO.
rules & guidelines (archivists)
- 1) archivists may not create any ryugis or moderate the species.
2) the general rules apply to them as well.
3) the archive for each cathegory should not fall behind by over 50 ryugis.
4) as a reward for their services, archivists will receive one rare MYO every first of a month. in the months of march, august and december they will receive a very rare MYO instead of a rare MYO.

how to get started & basic knowledge
- 1) first you need to get a ryugi! for that you can...
• take a look at the adopts and enter the competition for a chance to win the ryugi
• try your luck with the claw machine which you can play for free once a day
• get gifted a ryugi (do not beg for anyone to gift you a ryugi!)
• obtain and use an MYO slot to create your own ryugi (for more information on how to obtain MYO slots click here)
2) now, you got your first ryugi... but what should you do with it? there are plenty of things you can do!
• develop its character in roleplays, through art and more
• go on an adventure with your ryugi
• breed your ryugi
• take part in the monthly contest
• take part in events
you name it, there are plenty more things you can do!
3) what does the level of my ryugi do? well, a ryugi's level determines a bunch of different things:
• what edits it can have
• if it is ready to breed
• how successful it will be on adventures
• how many adventures it can go on
these things will all be discussed in their respective threads, so don't be shy and take a peak!
4) how do I use my items? first off, there are several different kinds of items that you can obtain:
• edit items
• treasure items
• miscellaneous items
• MYOs and custom slots
the edit items are the items you can use to apply a line edit to your ryugi. each edit item can only give your ryugi a certain edit, for example, the scissors will give your ryugi shorter fur, while the ancient coin will give your ryugi a pupil edit. you will be able to apply these edits to your ryugi yourself, after you receive permission from a moderator. to read more about how to apply edits on your ryugi please visit this thread. you should always keep track of your edit items and save a link to the post you received them on! edit items can only be used once!
treasure items are items you can find in the species activities. they will be sold automatically and you will receive the currency they got sold for. you do not need to keep track of your treasure items!
miscellaneous items have different purposes. for example, the breeding certificate will give one of your ryugis an additional breeding slot and the cloning machine will give you all edit items that one of your ryugis has (they don't get removed from your ryugi).
miscellaneous items need be kept track if and can only be used once!
MYO and custom slots will give you a ryugi dragon that you can either create yourself (MYO) or let it be created by ryugi staff (Custom)! MYOs may also be created by another user (does not have to be ryugi staff) for you. for customs you may provide the staff member with a theme and color palette! MYO and custom slots have to be kept track of by yourself and may only be used once!
5) how do I participate in the activities? that's quite easy! just go to the top of this post and take a look at the links underneath the interactive headline. there you can go to the activity threads, which will explain further what to do! but don't worry about it being very complicated, usually you just have to fill out a form c:
got more questions or concerns? feel free to PM me or a ryugi mod for help! c:
