You know how sometimes it feel like nature has a mind of its own? Like the wind is messing with you, or the clouds are listening when you say “oh, I hope it doesn’t rain” and then they decide to dump a downpour on you? That’s how the Viscets living near the Eastern Coast feel about the stretch of ocean they’re closest to.
It seems to have a mind of its own, that sea- sometimes calm, almost as if the water has gone to sleep, other times rippling with a multitude of dancing waves. If something of yours gets swept away by the surf, chances are it’ll reappear at the site of its disappearance in a couple of hours. And Viscets have sworn that the sea seems genuinely angry at times, darkening and frothing and lashing at swimmers until they’re forced to retreat to dry land. The sea’s odd ‘behavior’ has been the subject of many conversations and folktales. Some Viscets even swear they’ve seen a small figure on the water- literally on the water, treading on the rolling surface as if it were flat, dry ground.

Name:: Seacrest
Gender:: Male
Age:: Unknown; Eternally Youthful
Status:: Water Spirit; the state of his waters is tied to his emotions
Likes:: Sea creatures (especially turtles. He loves sea turtles.); beachgoers who clean up after themselves; rain and storms (when they’re not tied to his own anger or sadness, that is.)
Dislikes:: Overfishing; Deep Water; Burning hot sand
Personality:: Generally pretty playful and empathetic, though protective of the waters he lives in. Somewhat secretive.
Hobbies:: Exploring reefs and the occasional shipwreck; returning lost objects to the beach they were swept away from; rescuing Viscets if they get lost or fall into the water, etc. Sometimes her even ventures up onto the land to poke around, but ends up heading back to the water pretty quickly- dry ground weirds him out after a lifetime of walking on/swimming in water.

--Wait, so can he control the waters or something?Well, yes and no.
Seacrest is a water spirit- a sort of guardian/manifestation of a certain area of the sea: in this case, an expanse of shallow, warm water known as the Eastern Sea. The water’s state is tied to his emotions, so if he’s sad angry the waves will get choppier, and if he’s asleep the water will be pretty calm, with small waves. But the sea does cycle through normal patterns, too- clouds and storms roll through normally, as well, and the tides fluctuate as they do with all bodies of water. He’s not the sole controller of the waters, but his state does affect them somewhat. The stronger his feelings and the closer he is to the water, the more pronounced the effect will be.
